ITEMS AND WEAPONRY
CAPSULES (aka Hoi Poi Capsules)
The patented creation of the Capsule Corporation, these little
pills come in small cases and, when thrown, explode into just
about anything the mind can think of. From scooters to cars to
even houses, these little pills never hesitate to do the amazing,
yet don't even startle the characters one bit (But then again,
this is a world where flying and shooting beams from your hands
is a normal thing...). And when you're done using them, the house
or scooter or car you were working with will implode back into
the convenient pill once again to be used when you please.

DRAGON RADAR
Since the very first episode of Dragon Ball, the Dragon Radar has
been an important asset to the heroes' succession. Using advanced
technology and parts that cannot be rebuilt, the machine was
created by Bulma in her teen years to aid her in :::gasp!:::
finding Dragon Balls. It locks onto the mystical spheres and, by
pushing a button on the top of it, the user can pinpoint the
exact location of the ball. Because a you cannot sense the
location of a Dragon Ball like you would sense a person's Ki, the
Dragon Radar is a very important machine. Several of them are
built by various groups throughout the series, although only
Bulma seems to have managed to build one compact enough to carry
around.

DRAGON BALLS
This, of course, is the main item in... DRAGON BALL!! The Dragon
Balls are used for one thing: to make wishes. Now, the Earth's
Dragon Balls are different from the Namek Dragon Balls. First of
all, Earth's Dragon Balls can only grant one wish, can't revive
anyone who has already died, and can revive many people at one
time. Dende later upgrades this into two wishes, but does not fix
the part about not being able to revive anyone who has already
died before. When the Dragon Balls are used, it takes a full year
for them to regenerate and be ready for use again. The Namek
Dragon Balls have different rules. First off, it only takes 130
days for them to regenerate, since a Namek year is shorter than
an Earth year. Second, they can make three wishes, but can only
revive one person at a time. Thirdly, they are able to revive
someone who has already died, unlike earth's Dragon Balls. There
is one extra set of Dragon Balls, the Black Star Dragon Balls.
These were created by the Namekseijin who became Kamisama and
Piccolo before he split. They are so powerful that they scatter
across the universe after being used, and must all be brought
back to Earth within one year or the planet will be destroyed.

HOLY SWORD (aka Trunks' Sword)
The sword that Mirai no Trunks wears on his back and used to chop
Robo-Freeza into hundreds of little pieces was actually first
created on a distant planet by monks who desired to use it (when
working in coordinace with two magical ocarinas) to trap and hack
the evil monster, Hildegarn, in two. As explained in movie 13,
the Brave Legend warrior, Tapion, is released from the oracle
that he was trapped in for centuries (in current time where
Trunks is a little boy). Half of the monster Hildegarn trapped
inside of him (the other half was trapped in Tapion's brother),
Tapion must keep the two halves of the monster from joining by
using the sword and one of the two ocarinas. Well....hell, it
looks like I'm about to write a short summary of movie 13. If you
want to know what all happens, go read the summary or see the
movie. Anyway, before Tapion takes off in one of Bulma's
machines, he throws the sword to Trunks, who eagerly straps it on
his back. And that's how Trunks got his sword. Yes, I am quite
aware that that opens up a plot hole (for the rest of you, if
this was how Trunks got his sword, Mirai no Trunks wouldn't have
had the sword when he came and killed Freeza in the beginning of
the Cell saga, because Movie 13 wouldn't have happened if all the
Z-Senshi had been killed), but what the hell, right? This blade
went through another plot hole in movie 7 when Android 13 blew it
up....but, then again, just about every movie opens up a plot
hole / is a plot hole itself.

KAMISAMA'S SPACE SHIP
Eons ago, this ship served as the young Namek-sei-jin's
transportation to the planet Earth from a dying planet Namek. The
ship landed in the desolated land of Yunzabit heights - the end
of the earth, pretty much. Here the ship stayed, dormant, unused,
for years and years. However, when the heroes were faced with the
problem of finding a way to Namek, good ol' Mr. Popo brought
Bulma to the space ship and taught her how to use it. By calling
out, "Piccolo!" the door opens. Inside, the ship is
controlled using the Namek tongue. It can fly through space much
faster than a normal Earthling space ship. Sadly, it is destroyed
by a pair of cocky henchmen serving Freeza, who are in turn
promptly killed.
Used by: "Kamiccolo," Bulma, Kuririn, Son Gohan
NYOI-BO (aka Power Pole)
This bo was given to Goku by his adopted grandfather, Son Gohan.
Gohan taught Goku how to fight with the bo and how to utilize its
powers hiding beneath its misleading exterior. By screaming,
"Nyoi-bo, UP!" (Or, "Power Pole extend in America)
Goku can make the red, seemingly normal, stick shoot to
unbelievable heights. Except for a few instances in which Gohan
swung the stick around, the bo is used mainly by Goku. However,
come the transition to DBZ, the bo is rarely even seen, let alone
used. Its true purpose is not as a weapon, though; rather, the
Nyoi-bo is meant to act as a link between Karin Tower and God's
Palace for those who Karin deems worthy to meet God.

SAIYA-JIN SPACE POD
These spherical space ships, which were created by the
Tsufuru-jin, were used as common mode of Saiya-jin
transportation. Although only big enough to hold one person at a
time (I'm surprised it was able to harbor Nappa), the ship is
fast, and comes with a variety of nifty little options. For one,
one pod can quite easily communicate with another, it only needs
for its user to enter in the coordinates of their destination for
it to get there (so that the user doesn't have to do anything on
the flight, such as when Goku was sent to Earth) and it has the
ability to put the user into a period of suspended animation (as
seen when Vegeta and Nappa were flying to Earth). They also have
the tendency to create humongous craters when they land.
Used by: Son Goku, Raditz, Vegeta, Nappa, Ginyu Tokusentai, and
many more
SCOUTER
Another handy device created by the Tsufuru-jin for Saiya-jin
use, it is mounted on the users face so that a square glass
(which comes in multiple colors) is positioned over the user's
eye and headset is placed over the ear. By pushing a button on
the headset, the glass will lock on to the nearest power and
display the subject's fighting level, a measurement of their Ki
for those who can't sense it. It can also be used as a
transmitter, from one Scouter to another. Bulma is able to modify
Raditz's Scouter so it displays Earth numbers. Scouters are
especially useful for an easy way to know a subject's approximate
position and power level (especially useful when creating a
Fighting Level section of a DBZ site....); it is through use of
scouters that Freeza's group locates each Namekseijin village and
the Dragon Ball within. Used primarily by Freeza's minions,
scouters never appear again after the Freeza saga. A device that
functions in the same way but does not use the same scale also
measures Son Goku's ki for Babidi during the Majin Buu saga.
Used by: Bulma, Vegeta, Nappa, Raditz, Freeza, Ginyu Tokusentai,
and many more
UNIVERSAL TRANSLATOR
This is the little device that Bulma whipped up in order to talk
to Ginyu when he was in frog form. It straps on to a little belt
and wraps around the neck of the wearer, enabling them to speak
verbally in the creator of the device's tongue (I'm sure you
could probably toggle between languages, too). Ginyu uses it so
that he can switch bodies with Bulma (he can only switch if he
can scream "CHANGE") and after that, Ginyu the Bulma
picks it off of Bulma the frog's neck and tosses it away. The
contraption is never seen again.
Used by: Bulma, Ginyu
ZETTO SWORD (aka Zet Sword, Z Sword, etc.)
When Kaioshin took Gohan to his holy planet to train for the
fight against Buu, the first thing he had the boy train with was
the legendary Zed Sword. The Sword, which was unbelievably heavy
(Gohan had trouble with it) was believed to have magical powers.
Gohan trained constantly with the blade, until he became strong
enough to swing it professionally with ease. When his skill with
the sword reached its peak, Goku and Kaioshin decided it was
necessary to test it by hurling a block of the strongest metal in
the entire universe at Gohan. Gohan swung the blade, but it
snapped in half like a twig against the block. The characters
were stunned, and came to the conclusion that it had made Gohan
stronger just by learning how to use it. However, in breaking,
the Zed Sword released an old (and, you guessed it: perverted)
Kaioshin from generations before the current Kaioshin's reign.
