Seven Years Since that Event! From Today, I'm a High School Student

The Earth is once again peaceful. People go about their daily lives. The word "Cell" has been all but forgotten. A car screeches to a hault outside the Satan City Bank. A group of masked men armed with guns jumps out of the car and runs into the bank. Inside, a bank official is shot. People standing with hands up behind the counter gasp and scream. The group of bank robbers laughs. One bank robber jumps up onto the counter right in front of a teller, getting another scream out of her.

Son Gohan races through the air on Kintoun. He sits with his arms and legs crossed as he speeds toward his destination. Narrator, "There are no schools near the rural area where Son Gohan lives. Until now, he's gotten by with self-study and correspondence courses." Images of Son Gohan float across the screen over the "real" image of him flying to school. "His mother, Chichi, is worried that that's not enough, so starting today, he's going to school in Satan City." Gohan flies over farmland, then looks down below. "Hmm? We're at the edge of town. I should land soon." He jumps off and waves to Kintoun as it flies away. "Bye bye, Kintoun! Pick me up for the trip home, too!"

Son Gohan lands and looks up at a billboard in front of him. "SATAN CITY" is printed across the top, and a large picture of Mr. Satan occupies the center of the yellow board. "Father, Mr. Satan is believed to be the hero that saved the Earth from Cell. Because Mr. Satan lives in this city, it's been renamed Satan City." He walks into the city.

A man walks up to the bank, but suddenly stops when he looks in the window. He yelps and then turns and runs away at the sight of the bank robbers. Robber, "Hey, you! Hurry up and give us the money! Do you want to die? Don't waste our time!" One of the robbers keeps an eye on one of the bank tellers putting money into a bag. "Put it in fast."

The bank officer he was shot earlier sits on the floor, clutching his wrist, whimpering. Sirens are heard in the distance. Robber, "Hey, this looks like all of it." Robber 2, "Okay, let's get out of here!" He turns and points a large gun into the bank. "When we've used up all the money you've given us, we'll be back for more." He grins and fires into the bank. Everyone dives toward the floor to avoid getting shot.

Gohan checks his watch as he runs. "Oh no, I took too much time!" He slows to a walk, then stops. He looks around. "Okay." He starts running. Really running. He passes a car going the opposite direction and it skids to a stop. The passengers turn and look back at Gohan. "Huh?" They look at each other, confused. Gohan continues running. He suddenly hears gunshots and looks down the street. He stops and backs up a little to take a look at the situation.

The police duck behind their car to shield themselves from the gunfire. The bank robbers stand on top of their car, firing at the police. "Where're you going? Come and get us, coppers!" A break in the gunfire. One police officer peers out from behind his car, and is promptly met with gunfire. He screams and jumps back behind the car.

Gohan steps forward. "Not again... Oh well. I don't believe this city." He sets his school things down. "I'll change so no one will know it's me." He looks around, then turns into a Super Saiya-jin. He looks around again.

The bank robbers laugh as the fire at the police. Son Gohan flies in from above them. One bank robber looks up at him, but too late to react, he gets kicked away by Gohan. Another robber spins around to fire at him, but Gohan throws the man into the street. People nearby watch, amazed. Old man, "I don't believe it!" Gohan lands in the bed of the truck. Robber, "Who the hell are you?" He begins firing at Gohan, but the Super Saiya-jin easily catches each bullet. The robber watches in shock and horror as Gohan drops the bullets onto the truck. He yelps, but before he can do anything, Gohan leaps forward and kicks him in the face. The man lands with a thud. Their driver, "He's a monster!" Passenger, "Run away!" The truck begins speeding down the street, but of course, Son Gohan won't let them get away. He holds his hand out and screams. "HA!" The truck flips over several times before sliding to a stop upside down. The man inside groans, shutting his eyes tightly. Old man, "Incredible!" He looks back to Gohan, but sees that he's now gone. Police officer, "What's going on here?"

Nearby, Gohan looks back at them as he collects his things, no longer a Super Saiya-jin. A girl stands behind him. She watches angrily, then finally speaks. "Hey." She startles Gohan. He turns and looks back at her. "Who did that? Don't tell me it was the police." Gohan, "Uh... I didn't see." He walks away as she pounds her fists together. "And I came all this way! I wonder who it was..." Gohan exits behind her.

Old man, "Ah, Videl-sama! I saw it all. It was the Golden Haired Warrior!" Videl, "The Golden Haired Warrior? Really?" Old man, "He was incredibly fast. He was able to flip over an escaping car with just a shout. That's right, he's a student at Orange Star High School, just like you." Videl, "Huh?" Old man, "He had the same badge you have." She looks down at her badge. "He's a student at my school?" Videl looks back up. "I didn't know there was anyone like that with golden hair..."

The school bell rings. Inside, the students converse about various things. Videl, "Hey Sharpener, you aren't the Golden Haired Warrior, are you?" Sharpener, a boy with shoulder length blonde hair, replies "Too bad, but I'm too busy with club activities in the morning to do stupid stuff like that." Girl, "Say Videl, do you think he's stronger than your father?" A boy with red hair and glasses turns around. "Don't be stupid! Videl's father is Mr. Satan, he saved the Earth! There's no one in this world stronger than him."

The teacher walks in and Videl sits down in her seat between Sharpener and the blonde haired girl who suggested that the Golden Haired Warrior is stronger than Mr. Satan. The teacher sets his things on the table at the front of the room. "Good morning, students. We have a new transfer student here today. Come on in."

Gohan walks into the room. "Hello. I'm Son. Son Gohan. Glad to meet you." Blonde girl, "Wow, he's pretty cute. He's just my type." Red-haired boy, "'Gohan'? That's an odd name." Videl, "Hmm?" Gohan walks across the room. Videl, "It feels like I met him before..." Sharpener laughs. "He looks like an upright study bug." Teacher, "Son-kun received perfect scores on the entrance exam in math, chemistry, physics, history, Japanese, and English." False cheers rise up from the class. "Quiet down! He's a very good student. I want you all to give him your support. Son-kun, please sit down in an empty seat." Gohan, "Alright." He looks around. "Uh...let's see." Blonde girl, "Right here!" He looks up. "Hmm?" Girl, "Here, here." She points down at an empty seat beside her. Gohan, "Ah...thanks." He walks up the stairs to the seat. Videl watches him as he goes. Gohan walks, smiling. The girl also grins. Videl concentrates on Gohan.

Gohan, "Thanks." Girl, "I'm Eliza, glad to meet you. And this is Videl." Gohan looks at Videl. "Ah."

They have a female teacher now. "Today we start at page 24." Eliza, "Gohan-kun, you'll be surprised, but Videl's papa is Mr. Satan." She winks as she says it. Gohan, "Eh? Mr. Satan?" Videl stares quietly at Gohan. Eliza, "See? I told you you'd be surprised." Gohan looks past Eliza. "Then you're Mr. Satan's daughter?" Eliza, "Yeah, you should thank her. Her father's the reason why we're all alive." Videl, "That's it!" Gohan yelps. "You were there when the bank robbers were arrested." Gohan smiles. "Yeah." Eliza, "The one you say the Golden Haired Warrior showed up at?" Gohan looked at her. "Huh? Golden Haired Warrior? What's that?" Eliza, "You just got here, so you don't know, but just in the last ten days, he's shown up three times. He's a Champion of Justice. He looks incredibly strong. He's got golden hair that stands straight up. He's very famous in this city." Gohan, "That's me! The two times when I was applying to come to this school and this morning."

Videl glares at him. He looks at her, and she never breaks her stare. He turns away, and still, she watches him. The teacher reads from her English book aloud while Videl tries to stare Gohan down, despite the fact that she's already done it. The teacher continues. Videl finally speaks, startling Gohan. "An eyewitness told me that the Golden Haired Warrior had on this school's badge. He had a white shirt, a black vest, and brown pants." Gohan looks down at his clothes, then back up at Videl. Videl, "What a coincidence, that's just like you." Gohan struggles for an explanation. Eliza, "Really." Gohan, "Uh, you see..."

Teacher, "Hey, you up there! Please be quiet!" Gohan, "Okay, okay." Teacher, "Let's continue." The teacher begins reading aloud again. Sharpener chuckles. "Take a better look at him, does he look like a fighter to you? There's an old truth that states that he who is good at studying is bad at fighting. Also, he doesn't have gold hair." Eliza, "That's right. He looks pretty weak, too, I'm sad to say." Gohan, "That's right." He laughs nervously. Videl, "I know it's not him, but on the videos when Papa fought Cell, there was a strange bunch whose hair turned golden. Papa said it was a foolish trick, but..."

Eliza, "Say, Gohan. Do you commute from home or do you have an apartment in this city?" Gohan, "I come to school from home." Eliza, "Where is it? Where's your house?" Gohan, "It's at 439 East in a small village." Eliza jumps up. "Eh?! Did you say 439 East?! You're kidding, aren't you? Isn't that a thousand kilometers from here?" The teacher lowers her book. "Will you shut up! Can't you be quiet?!" Eliza covers her mouth, drops back into her seat, and hides behind her book. "How do you get here? Even a jet airplane would take five hours from there." Gohan, "Uh, that's why it takes so much time, it's terrible." He laughs nervously. "Damn it." Videl stares at Gohan out of the corner of her eye.

Teacher (in English), "He is the greatest man." She lowers her book. "Okay, let's get someone to translate up to here. Who wants to do it?" Gohan looks down in his book, chuckling at a picture of Mr. Satan. "Mr. Satan is even in the text books. Satan City sure is an interesting place." Sharpener leans back in his chair, looking over at Gohan. "Hey, you. Little lord perfect score mountain boy. Why don't you translate in place of an introduction?" Gohan looks back at him. "Hm?" Eliza, "That's you, Gohan-kun." She taps him on the arm and he jumps up. The teacher looks up at him. "Uh, you're the new student, aren't you? What was your name again?" Sharpener, "He is Mountain Son Gohan of the Perfect Entrance Exam Score." Teacher, "That's right. Okay, Son-kun, please translate." Gohan, "Right..." He looks down at his book, then back up at the teacher. "What page are we on?" Sharpener chuckles. Teacher, "Page 24." Gohan holds the book out. "Mr. Satan moved to Satan City, then called Orange Star City, after he won the 24th Tenkaichi Budokai. Even after becoming the world champion, Mr. Satan still trains every day..." Eliza watches Gohan, and of course, Videl glares at him out the corner of her eyes. "...and sight of him jogging through the city is a famous sight."

Mr. Satan sneezes. "Someone's spreading rumors about me again." Around him, several people train on exercise machines. "Being famous sure is hard. Don't you think so, too?" He laughs.

Everyone gathers outside the school. Instructor, "Today we're going to continue yesterday's baseball game." Sharpener, "Hey, do you know baseball?" Gohan, "Yes. I've never really played it, but I know the rules." Sharpener, "You've never played, that's great." He grins, then chuckles. "That's because you only study. Videl, I'm giving him to your team." Videl, "I don't need him!" Eliza, "Why not? He's smart, he might think up a good plan." Videl, "Well maybe." Gohan puts on his hat. Videl, "You protect right field. You know what right is, don't you?" Gohan, "Yes, that's 'migi,' isn't it?" Videl gasps. "Migi!?" After a moment, her surprise subsides. "Well, you're not wrong..."

[Note: Videl said "right" in English. I'm not sure if she was intentionally trying to confuse Gohan or if that's how the Japanese actually refer to right field, but that's what she said. Gohan said "migi," which is simply the Japanese word for right. So basically, she was telling him to go to right field in English and she was surprised when he knew what she was talking about.]

Chichi takes laundry off the clothesline outside. "I hope Gohan's doing okay. This is the first time he's gone to school. I hope he makes friends."

It's still 0-0 in the bottom of the second inning (er...I think. I don't know, I'm not a big baseball fan). The group cheers as people run the bases. Gohan stands in the outfield with a glove on. "Mom and Bulma both told me that if people found out who I was, that would cause a big commotion. I'll have to do my best to hold back. The world sure is hard." Sharpener steps up to bat. "Hit a home run, Sharpener!" Videl lowers her arms. "You won't hit this, Sharpener." Sharpener chuckles and Videl pitches. He hits the ball, it sails high and away into the outfield. Videl, "Ah, crap!" One of Sharpener's teammates, "He did it, it's a home run!"

The ball suddenly falls into a glove. Sharpener stops dead, shocked. Everyone's stunned. Hovering several yards in the air is Son Gohan with the ball in his glove. Everyone watches in awe. "The runner on third is off his base. In this case, if I throw the ball to third, he'll be out. Okay, take it easy, softly." He pulls his arm back. "About this hard should be right." He throws the ball to third base. The third baseman screams as it flies at him. He catches the ball, but the ball actually throws him back into the ground. He keeps his foot on the base the whole time as the ball cools down in his glove. "Out!" Gohan lands happily and runs in. "I did it! Three outs, time to change." He suddenly stops when he notices no one else is moving. Everyone is still amazed at what happened. Gohan, "Oops, that was bad. Maybe even that little was too much." Instructor, "That was great, kid. Wasn't that an 8 meter jump?" Gohan, "Uh, beginner's luck." He waves it off as he walks away.

Player, "I see, it was beginner's luck." Player 2, "Can you really call that luck?"

Instructor, "Hey, next batter!" Gohan sits down on the bench. Player, "Hey, we're starting with number eight. Isn't that you?" Gohan stands back up. "Thanks. Yes, yes..." He runs out to bat. Player, "It's him. I wonder how he is at batting." Player 2, "Let's watch." Gohan steps up to bat. Instructor, "Are you a left-handed hitter?" Gohan looks back at him. "Is that against the rules?" Instructor, "No, that's fine, but you're holding the bat backwards." Gohan, "Hm? Backwards?" Instructor, "Do whatever you want." Sharpener, "I'll get him back for messing up my home run. I'll give him a little surprise." Gohan, "This is bad, I'd better not get noticed anymore. I can't hit the ball!" Sharpener laughs. "Here I go. If you don't dodge it, you'll die." He pitches the ball straight at Gohan's head. Videl, "Watch out!!"

The ball hits Gohan in the head. His hat falls off and the ball bounces to the ground. Sharpener, "That idiot! Why didn't he dodge?!" His eyes are practically bulging. The instructor and catcher both stare at Gohan in shock. He's still standing there, ready to hit the ball. He stands up and looks at the instructor. "Excuse me, that's a dead ball, isn't it?" The instructor replies that it is, and Gohan runs off to first base. "Lucky, lucky! I didn't even have to hit the ball to get on base, I didn't stand out!" Sharpener, "What is he...?" Videl, "Something fishy is going on here."

The school's bell rings. Gohan shuts his locker. Sharpener, "Hey, you." Gohan looks back at him. "Which club have you decided on?" Gohan, "I haven't decided, but..." Sharpener, "Then you should join the boxing club. You're a lot tougher than I thought, you might make a good fighter." Gohan, "Actually, I was planning on not joing a club. You see..." Eliza walks up behind him. "That's right. Gohan-kun's house is terribly far away, he doesn't have time for clubs activities, you see." Gohan, "That's right." Eliza, "Say, Gohan-kun, would you give me a lift home?" Gohan, "Huh? My car only holds one." Sharpener, "Then move to Satan City." Gohan, "Uh, I can't..."

Videl stands behind a tree, watching Gohan as he leaves. "This is suspicious... If his house is that far away, why isn't he going by car or jet flyer?" Videl follows him as he leaves. He suddenly stops and looks back, but she quickly jumps behind a building. He walks off behind another side of the same building. She runs out to follow him, but by the time she gets there, he's gone. She gasps and looks around. "What?" Gohan stares down at her from the roof of the building.

Son Gohan rubs his chin as he rides home on Kintoun. "Cities are tiring. But the Golden Haired Warrior... I need something better to conceal my identity. I'll consult with Bulma-san."
