Gohan's Mixed up First Date!?

Night has fallen on the Son home at Mt. Paozu. "I am the Champion of Justice, the Great Saiyaman!" Son Gohan stares at himself in a mirror with his Saiyaman suit on. "Hmm. I don't think I liked that one. I think the other one was better." Goten stares up at him. "Do your best, brother." Gohan, "Okay, about this..." He uncrosses his arms and strikes another pose as he goes through his moves. "The heavens cry out, the Earth cries out, people cry out, and even I cry out for me to defeat the forces of evil!" He points to his head. "Can't you see this evil-fighting helmet?" The dance continues. "The strong, the invincible, the ultimate hero..." He's suddenly outside. An explosion goes off behind him. "The Great Saiyaman! That's it!"

He's back inside again, right in front of his mirror where he really was the whole time. Goten gasps. "Brother, you're cool!" The door opens and Chichi looks into the room with a smile on her face. "Have you picked out a good one yet?" Gohan and Goten turn to her. Gohan, "Yeah, leave it up to me." Chichi, "But it's about time to go to sleep. If you sleep in tomorrow and are late for school, don't blame me." Gohan, "Okay, I'll be fine."

Birds chirp. The sun has risen over Mt. Paozu. "Ahh! I slept too long!"

The Great Saiyaman races through the sky. "I'm going to be late!" The bell rings at Orange Star High School just as the Great Saiyaman lands on the roof. He goes through the transformation back to Gohan and runs toward the door. He suddenly slides to a stop, startled by a girl leaning against the wall. She stares up at him, he looks back down at her. He laughs nervously and rubs the back of his head, then runs through the door. On the first landing after running down a flight of stairs, he stops. "She saw me transform. She knows that I'm the Great Saiyaman." He continues down the stairs as the girl peers out from behind the corner of a building into the opened door leading down the stairs.

The students sit in their room, talking about various things as they await the beginning of class. Sharpener leans back in his chair. "What are you looking so worried about? The teacher's not even here yet." Gohan nods with a sigh. Someone else enters the room and he looks up, only to see the girl who saw him on the roof top taking her seat in one of the rows further up. He stares down at her, still worried that she saw him transform; she smiles up at him.

Videl reads aloud. She stops and sits. Teacher, "Okay, you're next, Son Gohan. Read the next part." Gohan stares down at his desk, not moving, not speaking. Eliza looks over at him. Teacher, "Son Gohan!" He moves toward Gohan. "What am I going to do?! She must have seen me. What if she tells someone else?" Suddenly, Gohan is shaken back to reality when the teacher reaches his desk and yells right in his face, "Son Gohan!" Gohan looks up at him and screams, startled. He falls back in his chair, but catches himself. "Son Gohan-kun. Go stand out in the hallway." Gohan stands up. "Yes." Videl begins to laugh. The girl that saw Gohan transform watches him leave.

Gohan holds two buckets, one in either hand. He sighs. "Damn."

"Since there were no clues as to where the gold came from..." The girl draws a picture of Gohan in her notebook. She drops the pencil with a slight gasp. The teacher continues. "...There were no clues as to where the neighborhood boss went. Next, Angela." The girl stares down at her picture and sighs. "Angela-kun!" She simply sighs again. The teacher walks up to her. "Angela!!" And once again, she pays no attention to him. "Angela, not you too?" She suddenly realizes he's there with a start. She lays her head down on her desk, covering the picture, and begins to cry. "I'm sorry, Teacher!!" The students stare at her, confused. The teacher is slightly shaken and tries to think of what to say. "Uh, Angela-kun..." Angela, "I'll go stand out in the hallway." She suddenly stops crying and smiles up at him. He gasps, surprised at her sudden mood swing. She walks out giggling, leaving an entire classroom perplexed. Teacher, "Uh..."

Gohan stares down the hallway. "Huh? You?" Angela walks up to him, grinning and giggling. She stops next to him and looks up at him. Gohan, "Uh?" She suddenly looks away, making an "Oh!" sound as if she was embarassed. Gohan smiles and laughs nervously. "What does she want?" Angela, "Excuse me, Gohan-chan..." He looks back at her. "Uh..." She stares up at him. "My name is Angela." Gohan, "Glad to meet you..." Angela, "Excuse me, but do you have a girlfriend now?" Gohan, "No, uh..." Angela, "I thought you had... I knew it!" She drops to the ground, hugging her knees and crying. Gohan, "Uh, excuse me..." He looks around, still holding the buckets. "What am I going to do?" Angela suddenly stops crying and looks up at him seriously. "I know your secret." Gohan, "Huh?! Really?" Angela, "Go on a date with me." Gohan stops. "Date...?" She lowers her head and begins crying again. "I knew you had a girlfriend! And I was going to keep your terrible secret to myself!" Gohan, "Okay." Angela looks up at him, smiling. "Really?" Gohan laughs nervously and reaches up to rub the back of his head, but he apparently forgot he was holding those buckets, and well, you can guess what happened next. Angela jumps up, screaming. "I did it, I did it!" She jumps up and down. "Let's go out Sunday." Gohan looks over at her. "I'll be waiting for you in front of the Satan City train station at 10:00!" Gohan, "Ah..."

The Great Saiyaman flies home. "It looks like she knows that I'm the Great Saiyaman. I'm going to have to suck up to her so that she doesn't release my secret. But I've never gone on a date before. What am I going to do?"

Chichi works in the kitchen, washing dishes. "I'm home!" Chichi, "Welcome home." Son Gohan walks into the kitchen. "Mom, can I ask you a question?" Chichi, "Hmm?" Gohan, "What was your first date with Dad like?" Chichi, "Huh? Why are you bringing that up now?" She sets the last dish in the rack and turns around, drying her hands. She shuts her eyes as she recalls. "Well, it was certainly..." She opens her eyes and looks at the ceiling. Gohan follows her gaze.
"Okay Goku-san, today we're going to have a real date!" Chichi and Son Goku stand under a large tree on a clear, sunny day. Chichi wears that pink helmet, and Goku is in his blue gi; he still has his tail and the Nyoi-bo. "But I've never dated before. I don't know what you're talking about." Chichi looks away. "You big tease, Goku-san! You see, a date is the most fun thing a boy and girl can do together! You should know that." Goku smiles. "The most fun thing. I know what you're talking about." Chichi still faces away, her eyes closed. "You do?" She looks up at him and screams as she sees a fist headed straight for her face. She barely dodges as Goku shoves his hand into the tree trunk. She screams and retaliates. He blocks her kicks and punches and they begin to fight. Goku, "This 'date' sure is fun!"
From the hole in the tree, the picture fades back to Chichi with her hands over her heart. "The punch mark that Goku-san left on that tree is still embedded in my heart." Gohan stares at her blankly. "I see..."

Buildings tower above the ground. Gohan stands in front of "SATAN CITY STATION" wearing a yellow coat with a dark tie. He checks his watch. "Gohan-chan!" He looks around. "Hm?" Angela runs up to him, waving her arms. "Gohan-chan, I'm so impressed! You were right on time!" Gohan, "Uh, excuse me. You promise not to tell anyone my secret if I date you, right?" Angela smiles up at him. "Eh?" Gohan, "Well, uh..." He rubs his head. Angela, "You want to see a movie? I'm so happy! Let's go." She grabs Gohan by the arm and leads him away. "Uh, excuse me, wait!" He comes back to look at something, but she pulls him away. "Hurry!"

Gohan and Angela see a movie at "SATAN CITY THEATER." Angela stares up at the screen, completely into it, while Gohan struggles to fight off sleep. He yawns; his head falls to one side as he drifts off to sleep, but he's reawakened when his head hits the chair. He repeats the action a few more times before finally really falling asleep.

Angela looks over at him. "You idiot, Gohan-chan!" Angela's silhouette runs from Gohan on the backdrop of an ocean sunset. Gohan awakens as the real Angela stands up. "Am I so boring to be around? I'm going home!" She walks out angrily. Gohan stands up. "You're wrong! I'm sorry!" The movie continues to play out in front of him. "Excuse me, I'm sorry..." Gohan tries to get out of the row to catch up with Angela.

Angela walks out of the building with an angry expression. Gohan catches up to her. "I'm really sorry..." She turns around, smiling. "Let's go to a tea shop." Gohan, "Huh?" She closes her eyes and cocks her head, still smiling.

Gohan and Angela sit together at a table. Gohan laughs nervously. Angela smiles. "Now you're supposed to ask the girl how old she is." Gohan, "Really?" He smiles with an expression that says he's just playing along. "How old are you?" Angela, "Thirteen." Gohan, "Eh?!"

Spoonful after spoonful of sugar plunges into Angela's teacup. She smiles once again. "Thank you!" Gohan looks away with a distant expression on his face. "But you're not quite what I expected." Gohan, "Eh?" She takes a sip of tea. "I was surprised when I saw you wearing that." Gohan, "She must mean my Great Saiyaman costume. Uh, what do you think of that?" She lowers the teacup. "I think it's terribly cute!" Gohan, "Cute...?" Angela, "Do you always wear that?" Gohan, "Huh? Only when I have to." Angela smiles and shuts her eyes, squeezing her hands together. "You really are cute!" Gohan, "Ah... Please don't tell anyone else!" Angela, "Okay. Let's go to Satan River next." Gohan, "Huh?" She smiles. "Okay..."

Gohan and Angela walk down the street of the bustling city. She looks up at him and smiles. He smiles in return. Sirens pierce the air. They both look up. "Fire, fire!" They turn to see fire trucks screaming down the street and a crowd of onlookers standing on either side of the road. A tower of black smoke rises into the air. Gohan, "Huh?" He starts running toward the burning building. Angela, "Ah, Gohan-chan!"

Hoses spray water up at the building, where a fire rages on the semi-upper floors (beyond the halfway point, but starting many floors down from the roof). Smoke pours out of the windows. Gohan walks up to the building and stares up at it. He overhears another onlooker say, "It looks like a bunch of people couldn't get out" and another reply, "Really?" Gohan looks from them back up to the building.

A helicopter passes over the building and Videl leans out. Gohan, "It's Videl." Angela finally catches up with Gohan. Videl, "Can't you get any closer?" Pilot, "I'm afraid I can't. The updraft caused by the fire is too dangerous." Videl, "But what about all of the trapped people?" Videl stares down at the roof. She speaks into a phone, "There's a large water tank over there. Do you think I can do something with that?" Phone, "What do you mean?" Videl, "Can I use the water to put out the fire?"

A controller locates the tower in question on some digital blueprints of the building. "That tower only supplies water to the normal water system. The sprinklers are on another system, but there's an emergency external valve." He navigates around the tower via his computer. Videl, "If I open that, water will come out, right?" Controller, "I don't know if that will be enough water to put out the fire." Videl, "The least it will do is buy us time to evacuate the building." Pilot, "Videl-san, don't do it!" Videl, "I have to take the chance!" She jumps out of the helicopter. "Videl-san!"

Videl lands on top of the burning building. She runs over to the tank and locates the valve. "This is it!" She reaches down for it, but the heat forces her to recoil. She clenches and unclenches her fists a couple of times, then reaches down and grabs the valve. She struggles against both the difficulty with turning the valve and the heat from the fire. Fire erupts out of one of the windows near the top floor; the crowd below gasps. Gohan runs toward the building. Angela, "Gohan-chan, where are you going?" Gohan turns to her. "I have to save the people trapped in the building!" Angela, "You can't do anything to save those people!" Gohan, "What are you talking about? I became a Champion of Justice for times like this." He turns and runs inside. Man, "Hey, you! Stop that!" Angela, "Gohan-chan..."

Videl still struggles to turn the valve, but without success. The roof begins to crack up, startling some of the people trapped on top. Even the ground right under Videl cracks a little bit. More flames explode through a window. Trapped man, "We're going to die!" Another small explosion causes the small crack under Videl's feet to suddenly expand, and the water tower begins to fall into the building, but not without falling on Videl first. She looks up at it and screams. She throws an arm up to shield herself, but luckily, she has no need for that. A gloved hand stops the tower from falling. She opens her eyes. "The Great Saiyaman is here to save you!" She looks up at him, surprised and still shaken. Great Saiyaman, "Get out of the way, please."

Water pours out of holes in the tower. The Great Saiyaman punches another hole into it and more water rushes out. The hoses continue to spray the building from below. Angela stares up at the building fearfully. Water rushes down through the different levels of the building, putting out the fire as it goes. It seeps through cracks, runs through the large crevasses that had formed, and flows down stairways. Water rains out on the onlookers below. A fireman smiles as he realizes the fire has been put out. The crowd below waves their arms, cheering. The trapped man who prophesized their deaths earlier throws his arm into the air. "We're saved!" The Great Saiyaman holds out the peace sign to everyone. Videl glares at him from behind.

Smoke rises from the burned out building. Son Gohan peers around the corner of a building. He runs around, looking for Angela as the firefighters collect their equipment. Videl talks to reporters. "And that's when he showed up..." They write down her story on pads of paper. Angela stands behind her. Videl looks over and sees Gohan running around. "Huh? Son Gohan-kun!" Gohan suddenly stops and sweatdrops. He looks back at her. She walks up to him. "What are you doing here?" Gohan rubs the back of his head and waves. "No reason..." He laughs nervously and she stands right in his face. "Are you trying to hide something?" Gohan, "I'd never do that." She glares at him and he looks back at her nervously. Angela walks forward slowly, looking around. She finally sees Gohan being yelled at by Videl. She screams and they both look at her. Gohan, "Angela-san." Angela, "Gohan-chan, you're not fair!" Gohan, "Huh?" Angela, "I thought you had a girlfriend! Videl-san is your girlfriend, isn't she?" Videl looks at her, then at Gohan, puzzled. Angela, "That's why you faced so much danger to go into that burning building!" Angela looks over at Videl. "Videl-san, so you know Gohan-san's secret?" Videl looks at her quizzically. "What secret?" Gohan screams.

Angela and Videl lean close to each other. Angela speaks into Videl's hear. "Gohan-san is really..." Gohan screams, trying to drown out Angela's voice. Both of them recoil and look at him. He stops. They lean close together again. "Gohan-san is really..." He screams again. They lean close together AGAIN. "...wearing teddy bear underwear." Gohan starts screaming, then suddenly stops. "Huh?" They both look at her. Videl, "Teddy bear?" Gohan, "Underwear?" Angela, "That's right, I saw him."
Angela wanders down a school hallway. "I saw it with my own eyes." She passes a door slightly ajar and looks into the locker room. Inside, Gohan pulls his orange school pants up over underwear with a teddy bear on the back. Angela gasps, picturing the teddybear in her mind. It's in a sitting position with its arms and legs spread to either side and its tongue hanging out of its mouth. "That's so cute."
Angela, "That was a teddy bear." Gohan, "That was the secret you knew?" Angela, "That's right." Gohan, "So you didn't see me yesterday on the roof?" Angela's expression softens. "I was daydreaming, so I only noticed that you got to school late. Did something happen?" Gohan screams in surprise.

Videl, "Teddy bear underwear? I didn't know you were into that." Gohan looks at her. Gohan rubs the back of his head. "Mom bought them by mistake. Sometimes, when I don't have something else to wear..." Angela cuts in. "I hate you, Gohan-chan!" She storms off angrily. Gohan and Videl both watch her leave. Angela's mood swings seem to be quite confusing for everyone.

Gohan walks through the halls of Orange Star High School the next day. "Maybe I should have ignored Angela." He walks into his classroom and finds Angela right in front of another guy. "I loved you for a long time. I'll wait for you in front of the Satan City train station next Sunday." The guy rubs the back of his head, just as Gohan did. Gohan, "Ah..." He laughs nervously. The 'camera' pulls out from Orange Star High School and the surrounding area.
