A Great Theft!! And the Culprit is the Great Saiyaman!?
Son Gohan lands in a big bird's nest. Goten suddenly throws up the container he was sitting under, looking back and forth. "Where did Chibi go?" He looks at Gohan. "He was here when I checked up on him the day before yesterday." Gohan, "He just hatched from the egg, so he shouldn't be able to fly yet." He looks away. "And I haven't seen the two adult monsters." He turns back to Goten. "Let's look a little more." Goten agrees. They fly away, Gohan on his own, and Goten on the Kintoun.
Mr. Satan cheers as he watches his big screen TV. He sits back in his chair. "I can't watch this enough." Videl walks in. "Videl, if you want to become a real champion like me, you should train more." He looks back to the screen, and she turns to it as well. "Is that the Tenkaichi Budokai? I'm looking forward to it. But Papa, I've heard that the champion before you was pretty strong, too." Satan, "Oh, you mean Son Goku. He used some kind of stupid trick. No one really knows who he is. But I have a lot more real strength than he has. If I had gone to that competition, I would surely have won!" He stands up, laughing and holding his arms up. Videl stares, perplexed. "Son... Son Goku...?"
Night falls on the Son home. In the kitchen, Chichi cooks while Gohan and Goten talk at the table. Chichi, "Weren't you able to find him?" Goten, "I wonder if something happened to him." The TV interrupts their conversation. "Starting today in the park of the Circus Show is a baby monster." Gohan and Goten turn to the TV. "The monster was just found yesterday by Musuka." The man is shown on screen. The screen cuts to him whipping his new monster in front of a large crowd at the circus. The monster cowers behind its wings/arms. "The monster appears to enjoy performing in front of an audience." He pokes it with the solid end of the whip. Goten, "It's Chibi!" TV, "Next Sunday, a lot of people are sure to come." Chichi watches with them. "What's he talking about? That little thing is terrified." Gohan turns from the TV. "He must have been kidnapped while the parents were gone. Otherwise, they wouldn't have let this happen." Goten looks on the verge of crying. "I feel bad for Chibi-kun." Gohan, "Don't worry, Goten. Let me handle this."
The next day, the streets around the circus are full of cars and the circus itself is packed. Gohan walks around below. A large picture of Musuka is in the background. "This must be the place." Crowds of people are lined up to get inside. Pictures of Chibi and Musuka are set up.
Musuka lights a cigar. The crowds cheer while a man whips Chibi. He whimpers. Gohan watches from the back of the crowd. "Chibi... That's so sad. I'll save you." He ducks down. The man continues playing with his whip while Chibi whimpers.
"Excuse me." Musuka turns around. "Huh?" Son Gohan is standing behind him. "Are you the most important person in this circus?" Musuka, "What do you want?" Gohan, "Will you please release Chibi back into the mountains?" Musuka turns away. "Don't be stupid. Do you know how hard I worked to bring that thing to the city? He's going to have to work hard to make me a lot of money now." Chibi balances on a ball while everyone cheers. Musuka laughs. Gohan, "But... Did you kidnap Chibi just to make money?!" Musuka jumps up. "Shut up! I caught him myself! It's my right to use him as I will!" He grabs Gohan by his vest. "What are you going to do about it anyway?" He pushes Gohan away, laughing.
Gohan walks out of the circus. "I have to save Chibi. I have to take Chibi back to his mother and father soon. I'm sure they're worried about him, too." He looks into the sky. "Wait! They must be looking for him right now! If that's the case, something terrible might happen!" He pictures Chibi's parents rampaging through the city while sirens go off and searchlights light the sky. Gohan runs into the parking lot and transforms into the Great Saiyaman while hiding behind some cars.
A man pushes Chibi's wheeled cage around. He stops and walks away, telling Chibi to "Behave yourself." The Great Saiyaman peers around a corner, then jumps out and walks over to Chibi. Chibi makes a questioning sound. "You can relax, Chibi. It's me, Gohan!" He bends the bars apart on Chibi's cage and steps in. He grabs the cuff holding a ball and chain to Chibi's foot and breaks it in half. "You're okay. Let's go back to your dad now." Chibi purrs as the Great Saiyaman lifts him up on his back and starts to walk away. "What in the hell do you think you are?!" A large man with a metal bar stands in front of him. Great Saiyaman, "I am the Champion of Justice!" Man, "You damned thief!" He swings the bar, but the Great Saiyaman dodges each time. "You're wrong!" He ducks below, jumps above, or side steps away from the bar. Finally, he grabs it and the man flies into the air, landing behind him. "It's dangerous to swing this thing around!" The Great Saiyaman ties it into a bow. "What is he?!" Great Saiyaman, "Let's go." He and Chibi lift into the air.
Two men burst into Musuka's office. "Something terrible has happened, Musuka-san! The monster's been kidnapped!" Musuka jumps up, throwing money all over the room. "What?!"
The Great Saiyaman races over the city with a frightened Chibi on his back. Chibi screams and grabs his head, and the Great Saiyaman suddenly begins flying wildly, unsure of where he's going. He grabs Chibi and carries him in front. "Hey! What's wrong? Don't do that! Are you afraid of flying?" The Great Saiyaman lands. "I'll just have to run away on the ground. I guess he is still just a kid. But you're eventually going to have to fly on your own, Chibi." Chibi climbs onto his back. Police sirens suddenly scream and several police cars come into side just down the street. The Great Saiyaman turns and sees them.
Musuka rides in the front seat of one of the cars. "That's the crook! Get him!" Officer, "Even though he's the Great Saiyaman, I can't let him do this! Give us back that baby monster!" Great Saiyaman, "Hey, let's get out of here!" He starts running, and the police cars give chase. He runs through the city, weaving between buildings. A semi truck suddenly rounds the corner in front of the Great Saiyaman. He's slightly surprised. The driver of the truck, on the other hand, is practically in shock. He screams, slamming his breaks. As the trailer swings around, the Great Saiyaman jumps over the whole thing, landing once on top of the trailer (and putting a hole in it) before landing on the other side and turning around again. The trailer and truck block the pursuing police cars, though. "Good, we can get away now." He starts running. "We have to get out of town quick!"
Videl's rotor-less helicopter/aircar/whatever suddenly speeds ahead of the Great Saiyaman and lands in front of him. "Come back here, Great Saiyaman!" Videl jumps out of the car. "You're acting a lot like a thief for a Champion of Justice, Great Saiyaman." Great Saiyaman, "A thief...? Videl-san, this is still just a baby." She begins walking toward him. "I have to take him back to his parents. If I don't, something terrible might happen!" Videl stops in front of him. "Give me that monster peacefully." She points at Chibi. "If you don't, I'll have to take him from you with force." Her pointing hand turns into a fist. Chibi yawns while Videl adopts a fighting pose. "If you lose to me, don't blame me if I take your mask off, Great Saiyaman." She giggles, then breaks her pose and puts her hands on her hips as her giggling turns into an arrogant laugh.
The police cars suddenly arrive, boxing them in. Musuka runs out in front. "Why are you wasting time?! Isn't it your job to capture thieves?" Officer, "Don't worry, we can leave this up to Videl." As he speaks, Musuka spins around. The Great Saiyaman looks back at the police. Musuka, "Who's that girl?" He turns back to Videl and the Great Saiyaman. Officer, "That's Mr. Satan's daughter, Videl-san." Musuka, "That's the daughter of World Champion Mr. Satan?"
"I can't believe I'm going to have to fight Videl because of this... Damn..."
A crowd has gathered. "Stop this, Videl-san!" Videl is once again in a fighting pose. "Why? Are you afraid of me? Or if you think I'm weak because I'm a girl, you're in for a big surprise!" She jumps forward with a "flying kick," screaming, but the Great Saiyaman disappears. She lands behind where he had been standing, surprised. She looks back. Chibi crawls around on top of the Great Saiyaman's head. Videl grabs him by the cape, pulling him back. The Great Saiyaman cries out in surprise and Chibi falls to the ground. "I want to see how strong you are. But I also want to see who you really are. This is the perfect opportunity. Don't try to hold back against me." The Great Saiyaman stands up. "You don't know what you're talking about." Videl, "I'm not going to hold back against you!"
She screams and jumps forward, landing on the Great Saiyaman's shoulders (and er, putting herself in a rather..."comfortable" position if not for his mask and her clothing, if you take my meaning...). His vision blocked, the Great Saiyaman stumbles around blindly for a few moments until she jumps off. She flips back and looks up to find that the Great Saiyaman has already vanished behind her. He puts his hands up and stutters, almost as if he's trying to explain himself. She screams and jumps forward, but the Great Saiyaman easily blocks or dodges everything she's got, and only gives ground because he doesn't want to fight her. "Videl-san is pretty good. She's a lot stronger than Mr. Satan." Suddenly, the Great Saiyaman disappears, and before Videl even knows what's going on, he's behind her with her arms locked in his grip. She screams in surprise.
But the Great Saiyaman lets her go. "I'm sorry." She spins around. "What are you apologizing for?" They begin again, going in the opposite direction they had been before. Musuka, "Now's my chance!" He runs out and grabs Chibi; Chibi struggles and cries out in response. Musuka stands back up. "Do you think you can rebel against me?" He takes out the whip and begins lashing Chibi; Chibi cries out in pain. The Great Saiyaman turns to the sound. "Chibi!" Videl, "You should be more worried about yourself, Great Saiyaman!" She throws a punch, but the Great Saiyaman easily catches it. "You're making a mistake!" Videl, "What are you talking about?" Great Saiyaman, "If I don't take Chibi back, something really bad is going to happen to this city. This is for real, Videl-san!" Videl, "Do you think you can trick me like that?" Great Saiyaman, "Please understand, Videl!" Chibi purrs. The Great Saiyaman lets Videl's fist go; she jumps up to come down hard on him, but he evades again, with a small hit.
"That's the spirit! It wasn't fun before." Great Saiyaman, "What do I have to do so she'll understand?" Chibi begins screaming, attracting the attention of both Videl and the Great Saiyaman. "Chibi?" Musuka even shies away from the animal for a moment. Chibi's cries ring out through the city. The Great Saiyaman turns toward the sky. Musuka begins whipping him again. "Shut up, you damned monster!" A shadow descends upon the gathering. Great Saiyaman, "Damn it...!" Two giant Chibis begin flying above the crowd. Videl gasps. Man, "It's a monster!" The crowd quickly disperses. An officer pulls out his gun. "Shoot them!" The police begin firing at the monsters, with no effect, except to make them mad. "Stop it! They're just here to get their baby! Videl-san, please get Chibi. If I give Chibi back to them, they should calm down." A bewildered Videl simply stares at him. "Hurry, before something bad happens!" Videl, "I understand."
The Great Saiyaman jumps into the sky while Videl runs to get Chibi, yelling at the police, "Don't shoot!" They lower their weapons. Videl grabs Chibi and glares at Musuka, who has fallen to the ground. He jumps up and runs away, leaving his whip. The Great Saiyaman yells at the two animals. "Calm down! I'm giving Chibi back to you, so stop being angry!" Videl, "Do you know these monsters?!" The Great Saiyaman turns to her. "Yeah, I've played with them since I was a kid. Right now, they're angry, but they're usually pretty nice. They should know who I am even though I'm transformed."
Chibi screams and waves his "hands" toward his parents. The blue one, his father, flies straight at Videl and Chibi. The Great Saiyaman vanishes, landing on his hands and knees right in front of the fallen Videl. "Have you forgotten me?! It's me Gohan!" As soon as the words leave his mouth, he realizes he slipped up. He looks down at Videl, who stares up at him, surprised. Videl, "Huh?" The Great Saiyaman sits on his knees and leans away. She jumps up and grabs his arms. "Gohan?! You just said you're Gohan!" Great Saiyaman, "Videl-san, let go of me!" Videl, "You said that you're Son Gohan-kun. I'm not going to let go until you confess!" Great Saiyaman, "This isn't the time for that, Videl!"
The father swings down again. The Great Saiyaman jumps up. "Toto!" Toto stops and lands in the street. Musuka steals one of the police officers' guns and runs out into the street. Officer, "What are you doing?!" Musuka stops in the street near the others. "Do you think I'll give you back my money machine?!" Great Saiyaman, "Stop!" Videl throws something at him, knocking the gun away. The gun goes off and Videl screams. Chibi cowers away. Musuka falls to the ground and the Great Saiyaman just...stops. Toto gets angry again and roars. Videl screams. "Watch out, Videl-san!" The Great Saiyaman vanishes, then reappears in the air, racing toward Toto. "I'm sorry, Toto!" Toto suddenly stops and falls over, revealing a frightened Videl and the Great Saiyaman with his arm outstretched and his hand in a fist. Chibi runs toward Toto. "Don't worry about him, Chibi. Your dad's just knocked out." Chibi paws at him, purring. Videl, "Great Saiyaman..." He turns toward her, making a gesture with his hand.
The mother monster circles around in the air. The Great Saiyaman has Toto over his back and Chibi in his hands. "Videl-san, I'll let you take care of the police. Bye!" He turns and flies into the air. Chibi barks happily, and his mother purrs at him from alongside them. Videl smiles. Chibi rides on his mother's back. "Isn't this good, Chibi? You aren't afraid of riding with your mom." The mother and Chibi smile at each other. "You're cute!" He laughs as they all fly off together.
Musuka runs out into the street, watching and waving his fist around. "Damn it, next time I'm going to capture the whole damned family!" Videl, "If you try that, I'll make you pay." He suddenly stops and turns to her. Musuka searches for a response. An officer smiles. "Give it up. You picked the wrong monster." He laughs. Musuka slouches, defeated. Videl laughs and turns back to the family and Great Saiyaman as they fly away.
As the group nears the Son home, Toto has apparently come to and is flying on his own. The Great Saiyaman leads out in front. Goten rides out on Kintoun to meet them. "Everyone's safe!" He rides around on Kintoun and ends up playing with Chibi on the mother's back. She looks back, smiling. Chibi licks Goten's face as he laughs. He waves to the Great Saiyaman. "Thank you, brother!" The Great Saiyaman laughs.
The next day, the bell rings at Orange Star High School. Son Gohan races through the hall. "Damn, I'm late!" Videl stands at her open locker. "Good morning, Son Gohan-kun." He suddenly stops. "Ah, Videl-san! Good morning." He gets ready to continue, but stops before he even starts when she forcefully slams her locker shut. He turns back to her and she smiles. "Thanks for yesterday." Gohan, "No, I'm just glad you're okay." She grabs a bandage on his face and pulls it off. "Huh?" Videl, "You can't hide it from me anymore. You're the Great Saiyaman. You're him, aren't you, Son Gohan-kun?" Gohan, "Damn, and I worked so hard to have the perfect costume!" He pictures himself as the Great Saiyaman, doing Great Saiyaman things like flying around and such. "I was suspicious about the way you talked. Why did you wear those funny clothes?" Gohan, "Well, you see... If I wanted my friends to have normal lives, I had to hide how strong I am..." She starts to walk away, but turns back to him. "Your friends? You're the Golden-Haired Warrior too, aren't you?" Gohan throws his arms up. "You're wrong there!" Videl grins. "Really?" Gohan, "Really." He looks away. "I can't let her know that." Videl, "Okay, I guess." Gohan, "Videl-san, don't tell anyone else." Videl, "Maybe I will." She looks up at him. "Son Gohan-kun, are you going to the Tenkaichi Budokai next month?" Gohan, "The Tenkaichi Budokai..." Videl, "It'll decide the greatest martial artist in the world. It's being brought back after not being held for a while. My father was the champion last time. The champion before that was the mysterious man, Son Goku. He has the same family name you do. That's an unusual name now. Since you two have the same name, I think that he was your father. So?" Gohan is surprised. "Well... She's pretty clever." Videl, "I thought so." She starts to walk away. "You're going to come to the Tenkaichi Budokai. Don't you think it'll be interesting for the children of the last two champions to fight at this competition? Since you were able to knock out that monster with a single punch, I'm sure you're pretty strong, too." Gohan, "I'm going to have to pass. I'm not very interested in that." He laughs nervously and she slams her fist into a locker, denting it. "Then I'll tell everyone who you are. That you're the Great Saiyaman." Gohan, "But..." Videl, "If you show up as the Great Saiyaman, no one will know it's you." Gohan, "But..." Videl, "Do you want me to tell everyone?" Gohan, "Okay, I'll go." Videl, "Good! I'm glad there will be someone there strong enough for me to fight." She leaves. Gohan, "Oh no, this is exactly what I didn't want..." Videl, "One more thing, Great Son Gohan-kun." He turns to her. "What's that?" Videl, "Teach me how to fly. It wouldn't be fair if you can fly and I can't." Gohan, "Okay, Videl-san..." She smiles and waves. "Okay, I'm looking forward to it, Son Gohan-kun." Gohan turns away as she leaves again. "I can't beat Videl-san..." The 'camera' pulls out from Gohan, then from his entire school.
