A Tragic Videl!! Are You Coming Out, Angry Super Gohan?

With a wide grin, Spopovitch rises toward Videl. Announcer, "H-how can this be!? Contestant Spopovitch is also flying!" Spopovitch's head begins to look back down instead of staring straight up, and when the view changes, we see it's because he's passed Videl and is now a few feet higher than she is. He stops and grins at her, and she stares back, alarmed and obviously, shocked. A light wind blows above the stadium. The audience watches in amazement. Man, "H-hey, do you suppose this flying thing is becoming a trend?" Jewel, "U-unbelievable! He can do that? Spopovitch?" Killa, "Absurd!" Spopovitch laughs. Videl, "How is it that he too can fly?" Spopovitch holds out his hand. Videl gasps as a ball of purple light forms in the palm. Spopovitch throws his ki blast and Videl is too amazed to move, so she basically just sits there, staring in astonishment as it runs right into her; she falls. Gohan gasps, and even Vegeta's been surprised by this move. Kuririn, "A Kikoha blast!?"

Smoke running off her body, Videl falls toward the platform amid the screams and gasps of the confused crowd. She manages to right herself, but can't recover from the fall itself, and lands on her hands and feet. She simply crouches on the stage, not even standing up. Spopovitch lands with a heavy thud nearby. He laughs as Videl struggles to her feet. "What kind of guy is this!?" Kuririn, "T-that lousy creep! It wasn't all that powerful, but he used a Kikoha on her!" Vegeta, "Not quite." Kuririn turns around. "Huh?" Vegeta explains, "By killing her, he would lose. He purposely kept the blast weak." Gohan, "Why would he?" Goku, "He seems to have a lot more power than his own abilities can account for." Gohan turns to Goku, curious. Goku continues, "He shouldn't have the kind of power it takes to use the Bukujutsu and Kikoha techniques." Gohan, "So what does it all mean?" Goku, "I don't know. How is it he came to possess such power?"

Spopovitch slowly walks up to Videl with a broad grin. Videl's grim expression changes to determination, and she sports a small half-smile. "I don't care who or what he is! I'm Videl! I'm the daughter of Mr. Satan, who defeated Cell! I'm going to beat him for sure!" Spopovitch keeps walking and she suddenly leaps forward and kicks him in the face. With her right foot, she begins kicking his face back and forth. She goes through three "rounds" of that (or six kicks total) before Spopovitch once again regains his confident grin and head butts her in the chest. Videl falls back with a yelp and Spopovitch hits her again hard in the stomach, sending her back up a few inches, before he finishes off with another strong punch to the upper torso that sends her flying several feet. She lands face down on the stage, shaking a little, but otherwise still.

"Contestant Videl is down! Was that the decisive blow?" In obvious pain, Videl slowly lifts herself off the ground. "Oh, Contestant Videl has not yet given up! With her indomitable fighting spirit, she's trying to get up." Videl says out loud, but very quietly, almost to herself, "W-who were you expecting would give up?" She finally gets back on her feet and immediately launches another attack. She hits Spopovitch in the face with her right fist. Left, right, right, left, right, and so on for several more punches; however, she quickly notices that it's having no effect. "What!?" Spopovitch smiles and kicks her in the face, and of course, she goes flying. He jumps up and meets her in mid air, smashing his elbow into her stomach. Videl's eyes and mouth go wide with the shock and pain of the blow. Spopovitch lands and Videl collapses in front of him. He walks up to her, and her face twitches a bit. He begins pummeling her with punches to the gut. Each one throws her head up and she coughs blood. The audience is horrified. Man, "T-this is terrible!" Another man, "What kind of guy is he?" Woman, "Stop already!" Eliza, "If this keeps up, it'll mess up Videl's face!" Sharpener has his fists clenched. "It doesn't look like she's going to get off as easy as just that!"

Mr. Satan poses for himself in front of a mirror. He goes through several different ones before stopping. He says to himself, "Hmm, they say my first round opponent is a woman, so when I win, I'd better not strike too much of a 'guts pose' or it'll look like I'm being sarcastic..." He strikes another pose. "This would be playing it up too much to the spectators." He crosses his arms, turning back to the mirror. "Hmm. It sure is hard having a woman for an opponent." There's a knock at his door, and then the attendant on the other side opens it. He peers into the room. "Mr. Satan! Videl-san is having the daylights beaten out of her by Spopovitch!" Not worried at all, Satan continues his posing. "You've misspoken. You mean Spopovitch is having the daylights beaten out of him by Videl." He goes on with his poses. The attendant holds up his hand. "No, that isn't..." Satan, "I'm very busy right now! I don't need these updates, just tell me what the outcome of the match is. The outcome that Videl has won, that is." Attendant, "R-right..." He lowers his head.

Spopovitch pulls back and punches once more, but Videl jumps out of the way. His fist plunges into the fighting platform. She jumps back up and begins another assault, smashing into his face with her outstretched right fist. She gets in about thirty punches before Spopovitch throws out his hand and catches her fist in his palm. He laughs. Videl, "Don't toy with me!" She tries to kick him, but he catches her by the knee with his other hand. He grabs her by the leg and begins swinging her around over his head before finally throwing her. "Contestant Spopovitch has thrown Contestant Videl! This could be all for her. Defeat by Ringout!" Indeed, Videl is sailing toward the edge of the platform. She concentrates. "I-It's no use! I don't have the power left to fly!" She passes over the edge of the stage and falls into the grass...or not. Less than an inch above the ground, she suddenly stops.

Surprised, she gasps and looks up to see the grinning Spopovitch, holding her up by the leg. He tosses her and she slides across the platform. "Oh! Contestant Spopovitch has saved Contestant Videl from a Ringout loss! What could he be thinking?" Videl lies motionless in the middle of the platform. Gohan, "Videl-san..." Kuririn watches angrily. "He's just playing around now." Yamu is silent. "However, Contestant Videl is not getting up. Could she be unconscious? Reluctantly, I must begin the count." Gohan, "That's enough! That's enough! Just keep lying there like that." Spopovitch laughs and walks toward her, and Videl slowly sits up. She finally gets to her feet. Gohan, "Don't get up! You can't get up!" But no, Videl stands. The crowd cheers. "Oh, she's up! Contestant Videl has gotten up! Such perseverance! What wonderful force of mind!" Gohan, "She's gotten up..."

Videl stalks angrily toward Spopovitch. Her clothes are shredded and her body is pretty beaten up...and of course, she's completely pissed off. She breaks into a run and Gohan protests. "It's senseless! He's out of the ordinary! Concede, already!" Videl charges forward despite Gohan's protests and leaps into the air to attack, only to be intercepted by Spopovitch's fist and thrown right back where she came from. "V-Videl-san!" As she lands, Spopovitch gets into position behind her, and so just before she hits the ground he kicks her almost straight up. She flies several yards into the air, then falls back down, landing on her back over Spopovitch's waiting knee. She coughs up some blood. Gohan is shocked. Spopovitch holds her head in one hand and, leaving her over his knee, he begins to pummel her face with his free hand. Though not with every hit, on most of them, Videl coughs up some amount of blood. Spopovitch sports a sadistic grin as he basically beats the crap out of Videl. Announcer, "T-this is terrible! Contestant Spopovitch is beating Contestant Videl black and blue!" Gohan's shock starts turning to anger. "That bastard..." And still, the barrage of punches continues. "That's enough! Please, concede, Videl-san..." Kaioushin and Kibit quietly arrive a few feet behind the Z Senshi, both with very serious expressions (though that's pretty normal for Kibit...). Gohan watches in horror, and his anger begins to build as the beating continues.

--COMMERCIAL--

"I guess Videl-san's match must be over by now. That's too bad." A group of police officers walks toward the stadium. Another one replies, "It's alright! Videl-san will last until the final round, so she has plenty of matches to go." Another police officer runs out of a tunnel up ahead. "It's terrible, it's terrible! Videl-san is getting beaten senseless!" The new arrivals all yell out in unison, "What!?" The guy who came out of the tunnel continues, "Hurry up! With our support, we can cheer some spirit back into Videl-san!" He turns and runs back into the tunnel, and the rest of the group follows, yelling "Yeah!"

And Spopovitch keeps at it with his beating. Each time his fist connects, Videl yelps and her feet fly into the air. Finally, after several more punches, he sets his foot down, thus dropping her to the ground (since she was still sprawled over his knee). Of course, that's not to say he's finished yet. He bends down and picks her up by the head. He laughs; Videl slowly opens her eyes. Her entire body is shaking. Spopovitch resumes beating the life out of her, punching her in the gut while holding her up by the head with his other hand. Powerless now, Videl simply hangs there, screaming whenever she gets hit and obviously, coughing more blood. Spopovitch continues relentlessly. Some audience members have turned away. One man yells, "Damn it! Stop already!" A woman, hiding from the scene in front of her, says "Videl-chan is going to die!" One more punch, more blood, and then still laughing, Spopovitch finally drops her. As she falls, he hits her once more, and she sails through the air.

She slides across the platform and lands right at the edge. She's lying on her back, and her head is actually hanging off the edge so she's looking right at the announcer (except her eyes are closed). The announcer cringes and shrinks away from her. She lies there, not moving except for the occasional twitching. Gohan yells to her, "You've held up long enough! Concede! Concede, already! Videl-san!" Short of breath and obviously in incredible pain, Videl struggles to sit back up. The announcer steps forward, holds the microphone up to her and says, "Videl-san, I agree with what the Great Saiyaman-san is saying. Don't you think it best if you concede?" Videl replies into the microphone, "N-no way!" She coughs up some blood. "I'll never concede!" She climbs to her feet. Gohan, "W-why are you being so stubborn!? You're really going to get killed here! He's not holding back because you're a girl, he doesn't have that kind of compassion!"

Videl stands (barely), her shoulders slumping, her chest heaving. She glares angrily at Spopovitch while random people in the audience shout words of encouragement. Grinning wide as ever, Spopovitch steps forward. Videl adopts a fighting pose and prepares to continue the battle. As he approaches, his shadow eclipses her and he licks his lips. He laughs, and she simply stares at him. He reaches down and once again, he picks her up by the head. He knees her square in the face. Gohan cries out in shock. Blood begins to pour out of Videl's nose and mouth. Kuririn, "That's awful! How could he!?" Gohan clenches his fists and struggles to control himself.

Videl collapses on the ground. Eliza has her hands at her face and wears an expression of complete horror. "V-Videl!" Sharpener, "You bastard!" One police officer yells, "Damn you! Any more and I'll arrest you!" Gohan is really getting angry now. His shock has been replaced by rage. Goku takes notice and turns to him. "H-hey, Gohan, relax! It's alright, she ain't gonna die!" Spopovitch walks up to Videl, who hasn't even stood up this time, and chuckles sadistically. He slowly places his foot on her head and applies some pressure. Videl yelps. He laughs as Videl howls in pain. The announcer hides under the platform, barely able to even keep watching. "T-this is terrible! Contestant Spopovitch, I can't believe these are the actions of a human being!" Chichi, Bulma, and everyone else are horrified. Chichi jumps up. "A-ain't there anythin' left that can be done? If this keeps up, that girl will be dead before she marries Gohan!"

"Gohan..." Goku watches as his son's anger increases. Gohan is now enveloped in a white aura, though he's still trying to keep his rage under control. "No... I don't...I don't want to lose!" Tears begin to flow from Videl's closed eyes. Gohan screams. His white aura changes gold and his hair quickly follows. The Super Saiya-jin transformation throws off the white bandanna that was covering his head. Itself glowing, the bandanna falls to the floor. The hooks on his cape come off, first the right one (his right, viewer's left), then the other. "Why you... You're going to pay now. You damned bastard!" The cape is thrown back by his still-increasing ki. Kaioushin smiles and looks up at Kibit, who smiles back down at him, then they both turn back to the scene in front of them. Kuririn, "H-hey!" He takes a few steps toward Gohan. "This isn't right! Calm down, Gohan!" Gohan, "No way!"

Laughing, Spopovitch continues to press down on Videl's head. Super Saiya-jin Son Gohan flies out of the building. "Stop!!" Another voice says, "The goofing around ends now, Spopovitch!" Spopovitch looks up, and Gohan suddenly stops. The Z Senshi are surprised to see Yamu step in. He moves from his little hovering point nearby and lands next to the ring. "I don't believe this is what we came here to do." Spopovitch stares. "Hurry up and win!" Spopovitch removes his foot and kicks Videl. She slides off the edge of the platform and falls into the grass, landing on her back. The announcer says quietly, "R-Ringout. Contestant Spopovitch wins." A collective groan of disappointment goes up from the crowd. Son Gohan fades out of Super Saiya-jin. He runs over to Videl and kneels down beside her. "Videl-san!" The announcer runs over to them. "Um, should I call for a stretcher?" Gohan, "No, I'll carry her." He begins to lift her up. Yamu turns to walk away, and still grinning, Spopovitch does the same.

"Spopovitch!" He stops. Gohan glares furiously at him, and Spopovitch turns around with his cocky grin. "You'll pay for this! Every last bit of you! You got that!?" Spopovitch laughs before flying away with Yamu. Goku turns to Kuririn. "Kuririn, do you have any senzu?" Kuririn holds up his hand in explanation. "No. We all came here half for the fun of it, so..." Goku, "I see. Alright. I'll go up to where Karin-sama is and bring some back." He raises his fingers to his forehead as he speaks, and as soon as he finishes, he disappears. Gohan arrives with Videl in his arms and Kuririn tells him, "Relax, Gohan! Goku has just gone off to get some senzu!" Gohan, "Senzu?" He smiles. "Really? Alright!"

From behind a closed door, we hear Mr. Satan yelling, "W-w-what!? Videl has massive injuries and was defeated?" He leans up in the attendant's face, and the attendant shrinks away as he replies, "Y-yes." Satan, "B-but that's impossible! Videl should be the strongest in the world, second only to me! That fool! She must have got caught up in her techniques and dropped her guard!" He pushes the attendant out of the way and runs out the door. The attendant slowly stands up, staring out the now-open door.

Gohan stands at the foot of Videl's hospital bed while two attendants care for her. Her boots are on the floor next to her. "Videl! Videl!" Mr. Satan bursts through the door. "Videl!" He stops and gasps when he sees her. Her eyes are shut and she struggles to breathe. "T-this is awful!" Gohan, "It's alright. There's no threat to her life." Satan turns to him. "Who the hell are you!? Are you the one who did this to my daughter?" Attendant, "No, not him. This boy kindly carried her in this far." He tends to her wounds, not even looking up as he speaks. Videl twitches whenever his instruments touch her. Satan, "O-oh yeah, that's right. Her opponent was Spopovitch, huh?" He turns back to Videl. "Nice job. I'll give you an autograph later." Surprised, Gohan shakily replies "Right, thanks." Satan, "Well, you're in our way here, you can leave now." Gohan, "Right." He starts to walk out, but Videl manages, "G-Gohan-kun..." He stops and turns around. "Hm?" She turns her head as best as she can and opens her eyes slightly. "Get...get him for me..." Gohan nods. "Mm. Once I win this next match, I'll meet him in the second round!" He gives her a thumbs up and she smiles. Satan looks back and forth from Videl to Gohan as Gohan walks out and shuts the door. "What are you saying, Videl? That crazy kid doesn't have a chance! I will be the one who takes out Spopovitch!" The attendant wipes some blood off of Videl's face with a cotton ball. Her eyes are closed, and she doesn't respond. Satan leans over her. "Hm?" He blinks, then suddenly jumps back, screaming. "I-i-it can't be! You two aren't together, are you!?" He begins jumping back and forth and throwing his arms in the air. "I-I won't allow it! Especially not that aggravatingly weak looking boy! I say it all the time, don't I? You can't have a boyfriend unless he's stronger than your Papa!" Attendant, "Silence." He continues swabbing Videl's face.

Meanwhile, Son Goku has arrived at Karin's. "Here are your senzu." Goku, "Thank you, Karin-sama!" Karin lowers his head. "Now then, you mustn't let your defenses down, Goku." He pauses. "I have a bad feeling about what's about to happen." Goku, "Yeah." He tosses the senzu up a few inches and catches them again. "So do I."
