A Heart of Evil Found!! Dabura's Good Idea

Dabura gasps and stumbles back, staring up at Super Saiya-jin Son Gohan on a cliff ahead of him. A cloud of smoke (or dust) rises up around Gohan; he glares down at Dabura. Goku smiles. "Okay, Gohan, show us your power." Kaioushin has his shocked face on, as usual, and Vegeta is doing his normal little pose with the crossed arms and annoyed expression.

Gohan suddenly disappears. Dabura, "What!?" Gohan reappears with his fist lodged in Dabura's chest. Dabura's face contorts in pain and his mouth falls open, dropping some of that good old stone saliva (but none hits Gohan). With a shout, Gohan pulls back and punches Dabura in the face. Gohan turns with the punch until he's done pretty much a 180 while Dabura goes flying away. Gohan looks back over his shoulder and then suddenly appears behind Dabura. He kicks Dabura in the side of the head from behind (with his foot going over Dabura's shoulder), and once again Dabura's face is twisted with pain and surprise. Dabura sails into the ground, send up lots of dust and debris around him. Gohan lands next to the new crater. He holds out his hands, and, with the obligatory scream, begins unleashing a volley of ki blasts down onto Dabura. Light from the growing explosion eventually expands out and so instead of Gohan, all we see is white. Babidi, watching from his crystal ball, is shocked. "Dabura!"

The light fades, leaving just a large cloud of dust and that "crumbling rocks" sound. Gohan glares into the cloud, then suddenly his eyes go to his back (though he doesn't actually turn around). Dabura appears behind him, fist pulled back, lunging forward. Gohan spins around and blocks the punch. Dabura clenches his teeth, and Gohan grins. Dabura punches, and Gohan falls over, but doesn't actually fall out of the sky. He takes another punch to the gut, then a knee to the face. He throws a punch of his own, but Dabura crosses his arms in front and shields himself. From afar, we see a ball of light descending from the sky. Suddenly, it disappears and a large shockwave expands out from where we last saw it, then another.

Both fighters land across from each other on rocks. Gohan screams and charges up his ki. His hair goes from the faded yellow/white color back to gold, and his aura reappears. He sends out a shockwave that destroys another nearby rock...thing, and Dabura throws up his arms to shield himself from the debris. Gohan, "Get serious, or this won't be a good fight." Dabura, "Huh?" Kaioushin, "I-incredible!" Goku simply smiles. Vegeta looks away from the fight to Goku, then back to Gohan. Gohan waits, and finally, Dabura grins. "Alright." He spreads his legs, then holds out his arms to either side and screams. White lightning appears, disappears, and then reappears several times around his body. The ground begins to shake, and under his feet it crumbles. The lightning now has a constant presence instead of disappearing and then reappearing, and it dances around his fingertips. Gohan remains calm. Dabura is still screaming as his ki continues rising. Clouds of dust rise up in pockets all around them in the surrounding area. Finally, Dabura lunges forward. Gohan leaps into the air and their fists meet halfway. Gohan brings up his right arm and it's blocked, sending out a shockwave.

They both disappear, then reappear with Dabura right behind Gohan. Gohan spins around and gets smacked in the face, crying out in surprise. Disappear, reappear, Gohan throws a kick, but misses. They disappear again, then Dabura is racing toward Gohan and Gohan toward Dabura, both screaming. Their fists collide and create another shockwave. Legs fly, knees meet. Both lunge forward again and hit, then more knee action. Gohan throws a kick and hits Dabura in the face. Dabura sails toward the ground, but catches him and bounces away with Gohan in pursuit. Dabura gets his back up to a cliffside and Gohan flies forward. At the last second, Dabura dodges and Gohan flies into the rock. Dabura slides back, then takes a deep breath as Gohan charges toward him. He exhales, breathing fire that leaves a scorched rut in the ground. He repeats the attack, but Gohan disappears. He goes again where Gohan reappears, but just before it hits, Gohan disappears. When the flames dissipate, Gohan reappears once again. He screams and swipes at Dabura, but hits a fading afterimage. He gasps.

"The real me is over here!" Dabura already has his hand outstretched, and before Gohan can react, he throws a large red ki blast. "Die!" Gohan stares at it in shock. "Oh no!" He throws up his arms, but it explodes as soon as it hits and he's thrown back. He slides through the dust as Goku watches with what could best be described as disappointment mixed with a little worry, I guess. Kaioushin gasps. A large rock explodes about halfway up and then right behind it, a splash of water rises around where someone (obviously, it was Gohan, though we couldn't actually see him) hit. Babidi giggles as he watches the rippled water through his crystal ball. "One down!"

Gohan lies on his back at the bottom of the lake. "I let down my guard." He looks up and sees Dabura's shadow over the surface of the water. He stands. "He's waiting to ambush me." Dabura stands at the water's edge with his arms crossed. He looks across the lake. Gohan forms two ki blasts, one in each hand, and throws them both up one right after the other. Dabura, "Hm?" Both ki blasts rise out of the water in front of him and fly behind before circling around and hitting. He easily bats both of them away, one hitting some rocks and the other landing back in the water. He suddenly spins around. "Over there!" He throws a red ki blast at the surface of the lake and Gohan screams. Goku, "Gohan!" Vegeta watches silently with a mixture of anger and annoyance. The water splashes up around Gohan's exit point, and a few yards above hit is Gohan himself. All we see are his legs, as the rest of him is covered in a thick smoke. Dabura chuckles. "Is that the best you can do, even after your power up?" As the smoke dissipates, we see that Gohan had his arms crossed to block the ki blast. He lowers them. Kaioushin, "The King of Darkness is incredible. He's in a different class from Puipui or Yakon." And Vegeta still just watches in annoyance.

Gohan sheds the green clothes that actually make up the Great Saiyaman costume, so he's just wearing the black bottom layer. "Damn it! I haven't been paying attention, but that's about to change." Dabura grins and disappears, and Gohan follows suit. We stare at a section of sky as the blurred figures of Gohan and Dabura quickly pass over the 'camera' and then disappear on the other side. This finally ends when the collide with a shockwave right in front of the viewer. From an overhead view, we see a trail of dust racing over the ground. Another chunk of rock explodes and Dabura appears, disappears, and reappears in random places near the cloud of dust. He stops near a cliff and Gohan appears behind him. He spins around and they both punch each other before disappearing again. They reappear face to face over the water and strike again simultaneously, throwing up a huge column of water. Goku follows the battle from nearby, his eyes darting back and forth over the landscape. "You're not doing it right, Gohan. If you attack like that, it's too easy for him to read your movements." Vegeta, "What a waste. He's completely forgotten the basics of fighting."

A line of water rises up and finally ends in a huge splash set off by a shockwave, with a smaller splash in the middle where someone actually hit the water. Dabura lands next to the water's edge and Gohan hovers above the lake as the water falls. Gohan smiles. "Not yet." Dabura grins. He turns around and waves Gohan off, which of course, frustrates Gohan. "Damn him..." He charges up his ki again and flies forward, screaming, "Here I go!" Dabura spins back around and spits. Kaioushin, "Watch out! He's trying to turn you into stone!" Gohan suddenly stops and throws up his arm in defense, and the saliva hits his hand. He pulls off his glove and throws it to the ground. It lands in front of Dabura, cracking and then partially shattering as Dabura watches. Gohan smiles, opening and closing his fingers on the bare hand. He sighs with relief. "That was close!"

--COMMERCIAL--

Fireworks go off at the Tenkaichi Budokai and confetti fills the sky. Satan holds his belt over his head and cries out triumphantly. His crew from the Cell fight (Calori, Piroshiki, and Pizza [the woman] if I recall correctly...) stands with him, with Piroshiki actually holding Satan up on his shoulders. The crowd cheers, holding signs that say "SATAN" or simply holding their hands up. Number 18 stands just inside, leaning against the doorframe with her arms crossed. She looks away from the celebrating and brushes back her hair. Chichi, "Goten!" Bulma, "Trunks!" Chichi, "Goten! Goten!" The rest of them all wander around into the figher room where people waited before their matches begun. Number 18 looks over at them. Marron, "It's Mommy!" Marron runs over to her and Number 18 kneels, rubbing her head and smiling. "Have you been a good girl?" Marron smiles. "Yeah!" Bulma steps forward. "Number 18, how in the world did you lose to Mr. Satan? Are you broken or something?" She suddenly gets annoyed and stands, leading Marron out and ignoring the others. Bulma, "What's with her attitude? I'm worried about her."

Water is thrown up as two small Super Saiya-jin race happily toward Babidi's spaceship. They laugh and shout excitedly. Goten, "Hey, hey!" Trunks, "What is it, Goten?" Goten, "What's a Majin?" Trunks suddenly drops out of Super Saiya-jin and falls into the ocean. Goten screeches to a halt. "Hm?" Trunks lifts back into the sky, soaked. "Did you get all excited about seeing one without even knowing what a Majin is?" Goten nods. "Yeah. Do you know what it is?" Trunks, "Uh, of course I do! You see, a Majin is..." Goten smiles and nods, excited. "A Majin is..." More smiling and nodding. "Well, you see..." He turns around, facing away from Goten. "What's a Majin?" Trunks lowers his head for a moment, then looks up, thinking. "Well, you see...uh, can I..." He lowers his head again. "Um..." Then he suddenly spins around. "Anyway, it's incredibly strong! When you see it, you'll really be impressed!" Goten, "Sounds fun!" Trunks looks away, suddenly no longer excited. "Probably..." Goten, "Huh?" Trunks flies ahead a few yards, pointing up and ahead. "Let's hurry, Goten!" He turns Super Saiya-jin, and Goten follows suit. "Yeah!" They both head off toward Babidi's ship again.

Stone Piccolo and Kuririn stand on the mountain outside Babidi's ship. Inside, the M meter stands at about 5:00 or 5:30 (if one were to imagine it as a clock), the hand moving back and forth slowly, but holding steady more or less. Majin Buu's sphere is silent.

Dabura throws a punch and Gohan falls back to dodge. Gohan throws a punch and Dabura does pretty much the same thing, falling to the left. Dabura kicks, Gohan ducks beneath it. Gohan kicks, Dabura holds up his hand to block. They pause for a moment, then Dabura punches. Gohan cries out as it hits, and then they separate. They adopt fighting poses at about the same altitude and stare each other down as the others watch. Goku, "Dabura's a lot stronger than I thought." Vegeta, "Hmph. He should still be able to beat Dabura. What a fool. He was stronger than this when he was a kid." Goku hits his forehead. "Gohan's really been goofing off..." Vegeta, "He's really pissing me off!"

Dabura suddenly looks back and grins. Gohan, "Pay attention!" He charges forward and Dabura turns to see a fist in his face. He flies back, then catches himself and creates a sword. "You're mine now!" He races forward and swings. Gohan, "What!?" Babidi grins, watching with his ball. "Have you killed him yet?" Dabura chuckles, then suddenly gasps. A few golden hairs fall into the water below. Gohan looks up and smiles, and they jump a few feet apart again. Babidi, "Damn it! What are you doing, Dabura?" He carries a pink ball (probably his crystal ball, though I don't know why it's glowing pink) as he checks the power meter. "You're going to have to hurt him a lot more than that. If only Majin Buu was resurrected...then they wouldn't bother me at all."

Dabura charges forward, screaming, dragging his sword through the water. Gohan flies backwards, facing Dabura, so they always remain the same distance apart. Dabura lunges forward and swings, and Gohan jumps back. The sword hits the water and the force of it sends a straight line of water into a rock, which then of course crumbles. The trail of water and dust continues on past that. Dabura swings, Gohan dodges. Another swing, another dodge. Gohan lands behind him and he spins around, swinging. Gohan jumps away and lands on a nearby rock cliff thing, and Dabura leaps toward him. The rocks crumble when Gohan jumps away and Dabura collides. Dabura swings again and Gohan ducks, then Gohan spins around and sees Dabura coming in from behind, but throws up his foot. He disappears and knees Dabura in the face. He jumps back and Dabura cuts down some more rocks, then he slides back and to the right, and Dabura swings again, hitting -- you guessed it -- more rocks. Gohan dodges again and flies toward the 'camera' with Dabura following. Dabura hits MORE rocks near the 'camera' as Gohan disappears offscreen.

Finally, Gohan has his back to a rock ledge. Dabura swings and Gohan barely dodges. The sword lodges itself in the rock next to his face. Dabura tries again, hitting the other side. Kaioushin watches in amazement and Vegeta taps his arm impatiently. "That damned Gohan!" Dabura swings and cuts cleanly through some more rocks, and when they fall we see that Gohan once again barely dodged. He's lying on his back in the air, just under the sword's path. Dabura finally jumps up with the sword over his head and comes down right over Gohan. Gohan charges his ki, holds his hands up, and catches the sword. Dabura struggles against his grip, eyes wide and teeth clenched. As their ki's fight against each other, they send off small shockwaves that are visible only in the waves of water they send up, as the two are hovering just over the water. Gohan fights against the sword, slowly pushing it up. Dabura pushes, almost forming something of an aura himself. Gohan screams and finally tears the blade off. Dabura, "What!?"

They both separate and their auras disappear. The water begins to settle again. Dabura discards his broken sword, and Gohan throws the blade away. It lands in the ground several yards ahead of the Z Senshi, glows white, and disappears. Vegeta continues tapping his arm. "Damn it, he's really annoying me!" Goku watches in curiosity and Kaioushin in surprise (who didn't see that one coming?). Vegeta, "Alright! I'm going to finish this myself." Goku, "Don't! Let him fight. He's not completely losing." Vegeta, "I don't care about this foolishness." Dabura looks over at them. "Huh?" Vegeta, "I want this to end soon so that I can settle things with you!" He points at Goku. "That's why I went to that stupid Budokai! If I have to wait any longer, I'll just finish it now!" Dabura grins, which throws Gohan off. Dabura drops his fighting stance, and around him, the background fades to gray. "Babidi-sama, please bring us back to the spaceship. I've just made a wonderful discovery." Babidi, "What discovery?" Dabura, "One that will resurrect Majin Buu." Babidi's eyes go wide. "W-what? Is that true, Dabura?" Dabura, "Probably." Babidi, "You need me to bring you back to the spaceship?" Dabura, "Yes." Babidi holds out his free hand. "Papparapa!" Dabura appears in the air over the room's floor. Gohan appears opposite him and his back collides with a wall. He cries out in surprise. Vegeta, "W-what!?" Goku, "Huh? We're back." Kaioushin looks around in shock. "What does this mean?" Dabura lands and walks back through the door. "Hey! Are you trying to run?" Dabura, "Run? No, I just don't need to lower myself by fighting you anymore." He turns around, grinning. Everyone else stares at him in surprise. "I've found the perfect warrior to fight you instead. Vegeta stares silently. Dabura chuckles as the door closes behind him. Gohan, "Hey! Get back here!" Kaioushin, "The perfect warrior to fight us? What does that mean?"

Dabura appears behind Babidi. Babidi puts away his glowing pink ball. "What are you up to, Dabura? It had better be a good discovery." He looks back over his shoulder at Dabura and grins. Dabura steps forward. "Yes." Babidi, "You'd better not have become afraid of those humans and come hiding back here." Dabura nods. "The King of Darkness, Dabura, fears nothing." Babidi, "I hope so. Now, tell me about your discovery." Dabura, "One of them has a very evil heart. He should be evil enough for you to get him onto our side." Babidi's face lights up. "I see! We don't have to do anything except make them fight amongst themselves, and we'll take their energy! If we can do that..." Dabura grins. "We can resurrect Majin Buu." Babidi giggles. He spins around, dancing. "We did it! We did it, Dabura!"

The Z Senshi wait, back in the stage 3 room again. Confused, they ponder what Dabura meant... Except Vegeta, who's just annoyed...
