The Rebirth of Vegeta, Prince of Destruction!! Confusion Enters the Ring

A light breeze blows up dust around Piccolo and Kuririn outside Babidi's spaceship. Inside, Super Saiya-jin Son Gohan and the rest of the Z Senshi wait for Dabura or the "perfect warrior" he mentioned to come through the door. Everyone is silent. Kaioushin, "Dabura... Why did the Arch Demon retreat from the ring?" After a few seconds, Gohan fades out of Super Saiya-jin. "What is he thinking?" Vegeta, "You're the one who needs to do some thinking!" Gohan turns around. "Huh?" Behind him, Vegeta stands with his arms crossed, glaring angrily ahead. He uncrosses his arms and walks up to Gohan. "How could you let a fight with someone that weak drag on for so long? You're supposed to be a member of a warrior race! The only way a fight should end is with one of you dead." He shoves Gohan, who is surprised by his outburst, to say the least. "You're too gentle! You and your talk of justice and fighting fair make me sick! A real warrior doesn't think of things like that! A fight should be the ultimate test of strength! The strong live, the weak die. Strength is everything." He holds his fist up. Gohan glares at him for a few seconds before his expression softens. "But..." Vegeta, "Look at Piccolo and Kuririn! They were turned to stone because they're weak! Hmph! It serves them right!" Gohan really starts to get angry for a minute, then gasps. "He's right! If I had defeated Dabura, Piccolo-san and Kuririn-san would have been brought back to normal." As he speaks, he envisions each of them in their new stone forms. He lowers his head.

"Give him a break, Vegeta. Gohan was doing the best that he could." Vegeta turns to Goku, pointing. "I thought I told you, I want this playing around to end so that I can settle things with you!" He forms a ki blast in one hand. "Damn it! I'm not going to play around anymore! I don't care about Babidi or Majin Buu! I'm going to vaporize this spaceship and finish this!" Kaioushin steps forward in front of his blast. "Don't do it, Vegeta-san! If you do that, you'll resurrect Majin Buu!" Vegeta doesn't reply. "Majin Buu is a monster who lives only for death and destruction! Four Kaioushin weren't able to stand against him! He's pure evil!" Vegeta looks up at him. "Shut up!" Kaioushin, "If Majin Buu is resurrected, all human life -- no, all live in the universe -- will end! The Earth will become a planet of death!" Vegeta, "I said shut up!" He directs his ki blast away from the floor and right into Kaioushin's face. Kaioushin gasps and shrinks back, but doesn't retreat. "I don't care how many people die, or what happens to the Earth!" Kaioushin, "You're not that kind of..."

Suddenly, Son Goku disappears and then reappears between Vegeta and Kaioushin. He grabs Vegeta's wrist and the ki blast fades away. "Calm down, Vegeta!" Vegeta, "Kakkarotto!" Goku looks sternly into his face and Vegeta glares up at him with teeth clenched. Finally, Vegeta snatches his fist back and turns around. Kaioushin sighs, relieved. Goku, "This is getting weird." He looks over at Kaioushin, who looks up and agrees. "Yes, he had the perfect opportunity to get the energy to resurrect Majin Buu. Why did Dabura leave?" Goku looks toward the ground. "I don't know. He said he'd found the perfect warrior so that he wouldn't have to fight." Kaioushin looks up, then he turns to each of his companions. Son Goku, looking toward Kaioushin's right. Son Gohan, facing toward him and staring at the ground. Vegeta, his back to the group. Suddenly, Kaioushin becomes alarmed. "He found a warrior!? I-I don't believe it!"

Babidi stares into his crystal ball, giggling. He watches only Vegeta instead of the entire room, as he usually does. "You're right, he really is different from the others." He looks over his shoulder at Dabura. "It's just like you said. He is evil." He turns all the way around, hitting one palm with his other fist, and then he goes back to the crystal ball. "He didn't come here for righteousness." Dabura grins. "Yeah." Babidi, "You did a great job, Dabura." He giggles. Dabura, "We can make them fight each other, and with the energy that we take from them, we're sure to be able to resurrect Majin Buu." Babidi laughs. "I'm going to use you!" He thrusts his palms toward the crystal ball and blue dots of light fly toward Vegeta's image. Babidi's eyes widen and a bright ball of light expands out from the center of the crystal ball, slowly enveloping Vegeta's picture. Babidi screams, and soon the entire crystal ball is brightly glowing a light pink/white. Dabura grins. The entire room is bathed in the light now. Dabura shields his face from the light.

In the Z Senshi room, Vegeta is singled out and stands against a dark background. Suddenly, his eyes go wide and he cries out in surprise. The background returns to normal as Vegeta reaches up to clutch his head. His breathing is labored and he sounds kind of like he's lifting something heavy (or he's about to vomit). Gohan, "Vegeta-san!" He runs over toward Vegeta. Goku and Kaioushin look up, and Kaioushin gasps. Vegeta throws his head back and screams. The others watch from a few feet away, confused. Vegeta stumbles around, holding his head. "DAMN IT!" Kaioushin gasps again. "I was afraid of this!" Vegeta shakes his head, still holding it with his hands. He screams again. Gohan and Kaioushin run up on either side of him, and Goku takes a few steps forward from behind. Vegeta still stumbles around, screaming. Suddenly, he throws back his head and he's enveloped in a golden aura, turning Super Saiya-jin. He screams and steps foward, clenching his fists.

Goku, "Kaioushin-sama, what's going on!?" Kaioushin ignores him. "Snap out of it, Vegeta-san! Babidi's trying to use your evil!" Gohan, "Babidi's trying to use his evil!?" Kaioushin, "That's right. Madoshi Babidi can charm evil people." Gohan, "I don't believe it! He's the warrior Dabura found!?" Vegeta crouches on the ground, his teeth and fists clenched, eyes shut tightly. Kaioushin approaches him. "Vegeta-san, empty your mind! Don't think anything!" Vegeta, "Idiot! How am I supposed to do that!?" He grabs his head again and screams. Babidi, "This is great! He belongs to me now." He giggles as he stares down at Kaioushin and Vegeta through his crystal ball. "Now to bring forth his inner power and allow him to surpass his limits." He screams again and the ball begins glowing. A bolt of lighting passes through it. Red lightning starts bouncing around Vegeta and Kaioushin steps back. Gohan follows suit. Everyone watches Vegeta with shock.

Vegeta hovers a few inches above the ground now, standing straight up, his head thrown back as he screams (again). Gohan, "Th-this...!?" Vegeta rises a few feet into the air and then blinds the room for a moment with a bright flash of light. We go into a closeup of his face and he finally stops screaming. He clenches his teeth and his scream fades to a growl. When we zoom back out again, he's several yards above the floor and sending out red electricity in on each side. Goku, "Incredible power-up!" Gohan, "Vegeta-san!" Vegeta once again has his head thrown back in a howl. Gohan runs forward. "Don't let him control you, Vegeta-san!" A bolt of lightning hits Gohan and he flies back across the room, screaming in pain. Goku, "Gohan!" Gohan slowly sits up. "Vegeta-san...!" The entire ship begins to shake. Kaioushin looks around. Vegeta howls and the ship begins to send out shockwaves. Outside, small rocks lift out of the ground and hover in the air. Further out from the ship, larger rocks are thrust to the surface.

Vegeta's scream rings out through the entire surrounding area. His eyes are shut tightly and his teeth clenched when we return into the ship. Goku and Kaioushin throw their arms up in defense, and then Goku looks back up. "I don't believe his strength! Watch out!" Kaioushin, "That damned Babidi...!" Babidi giggles, then throws back his arms and screams. The entire room goes dark. The lightning stops and in the other room, Vegeta's aura disappears. He falls to the ground, still a Super Saiya-jin. He collapses amid gasps from the others. Gohan, "Vegeta-san!" Vegeta quivers a little, but doesn't get up. Goku takes a cautious step forward. "Vegeta!" No response. "Vegeta!" He slowly approaches, but Kaioushin jumps in the way. "Please wait!" Everyone stops and Kaioushin stares at him for a minute. "We're too late." Gohan, "Impossible!" Vegeta slowly rises to his feet. He lifts his head, grinning, and displays "M" on his forehead.

At the Tenkaichi Budokai, the crowd is still cheering even though it ended two episodes ago. Satan stands in the middle of the stadium with his hands on his hips, wearing his Champion belt. He throws his arms into the air, his fingers in a V, and he screams. He grins. "I AM CHAMPION!" A man stands up. "You're great, Satan-san!" Woman, "You're wonderful!" Satan throws his fist into the air and screams, his cape billowing out behind him. More cheers erupt. He does it again with the other fist, then he throws both fists in the air over his head. A group of ugly women cheer. Satan spins around and shouts again, then abruptly stops when he sees Number 18 and Marron leaning against the wall. He trembles and backs away as Number 18 smiles at him. He holds up his hand to her, then slowly turns around and resumes his posing. The crowd tries to swarm onto the field, but the Budokai attendants push them back. "We can't let you into the arena. It's too dangerous, you can't come in. Please follow the rules. Please calm down. You can't come in here."

A light wind blows around outside Babidi's ship. Inside, Majin Vegeta stands before everyone, grinning. Goku, "Vegeta!" Gohan, "Vegeta-san, please snap out of it!" Kaioushin, "I don't believe it! Babidi did this just so we'd fight each other!" Vegeta screams and begins charging his ki, looking up at the others with a grin. Kaioushin gasps and everyone simply stares in shock. Babidi giggles. "Way to go! This is going exactly how I planned! Let's see them fight somewhere interesting." He throws out his hands. "Papparapa!" Gohan, "What is it...?" Kaioushin, "He's going to have us fight somewhere else." The room turns blue and Gohan shuts his eyes. Finally, the blue fades away and he opens his eyes as a large crowd cheers. "Huh?" He looks around. "This is..." The camera moves out and we have confirmed what was already obvious...and then Gohan tells us, too. "...the Budokai arena." Satan and the announcer are still frozen as they were when everyone arrived. "Huh?" Gohan blinks. "This isn't an illusion. This is the real Budokai arena." Man, "Wh-who are they?" Another man, "They popped up out of no where." Yamucha watches from the upper-level terrace. "Goku... There's no mistaking it! That's Goku and the others!" Muten Roshi, "What's going on here?" Chichi, Bulma, and Puar race down the terrace to Roshi and Yamucha. Chichi, "That's Goku-sa and Gohan!" Bulma, "That's Vegeta!"

Everyone on the stage is still silent. Chichi, "They're too late! The winner of the Tenkaichi Budokai has already been decided! What about my house!? ...I know! They're going to beat up Mr. Satan now and take the prize money!" Yamucha laughs. "That wouldn't work." Chichi shakes her fist at him. "What do you mean!? If they beat up the Champion in front of everyone, no one will be able to complain!" Yamucha, "I guess you're right..." Roshi, "Hm? Wait a second, something doesn't look right." Everyone else turns simultaneously to the ring and says in unison, "Eh?"

The announcer finally snaps out of his stunned state and smiles. "You guys are too late, Son-san!" He walks up to them. "Where did you go?" Vegeta watches him out of the corner of his eye as he passes. Goku, "Watch out!" Announcer, "Huh?" Vegeta throws back his head and screams as he charges up his ki, which tosses the announcer off to the side. Goku jumps in front of Kaioushin to shield him, and Gohan catches the announcer in the air. Satan throws up his arms, but the strong wind throws him into a wall. Vegeta grins and straightens up. Gohan lands, announcer in hand. Babidi watches with his crystal ball. "What was his name..." He rubs his chin. "...uh... Vegeta! That's it!" He giggles. "Take their energy! Fight as hard as you want! You can even kill them if you want to." Vegeta, "Shut up! I only want to fight Kakkarotto! I don't care about the rest!" Goku, "Vegeta! What have you done...?" Babidi, "I-I don't believe it! He isn't completely under my control! This is the first time that's happened! Well, I guess it doesn't matter." Bulma, "V-V-V-V-V-V-Vegeta!" Yamucha, "What's Vegeta thinking?" Roshi, "Hm..."

Satan hides behind the edge of the stage, peering over the top with saucer eyes. "I-i-i-it's them... From the Cell fight..." He slides down the side, his eyes wide, his mouth hanging open. "I didn't think they were still alive!" Vegeta looks back over his shoulder, then turns all the way around to face Goku. He takes a step forward and points at him. Goku stares back at him curiously. Vegeta's pointed finger turns into a palm facing out. Goku, "H-hey!" Vegeta chuckles. Goku, "Wh-what!?" He forms a ki blast in the palm and throws it at Goku, who's maybe a foot away at most. Goku throws up his arms in defense. "Idiot!" Vegeta pushes the blast and they're so close together that it doesn't even look separate from his Super Saiya-jin aura. However, it quickly begins pushing Goku back and it grows bigger as it does. Vegeta grins. Goku is slowly driven backward as Gohan and the announcer watch in shock (although they're two different kinds of shock, as I'm sure you can imagine). Kaioushin watches from the side opposite Gohan and gasps. Vegeta screams as he pushes more into it and Goku slides back across the stage easily. Near the edge, he finally jumps out of the way with a scream. The blast continues on into the seats. "Oh no!" Gohan cries out in shock. Kaioushin, "No!" The spectators flee, but the side of the stadium explodes and engulfs most of them with it. Further out beyond the arena, buildings collapse. Gohan and the announcer are both stunned. They stare out through the empty path to a mushroom cloud down the road.

Goku drops and rights himself, but remains in the sky. He, Gohan, and Kaioushin all stare at the devestation in astonishment. Huge clouds of dust and smoke rise up, and an entire section of stadium is gone. On either side of the hole, the seats are completely cleared out. Muten Roshi and the others watch in shock. Yamucha, "I don't believe it!" Vegeta chuckles. Bulma leans on the railing and drops so that her chin is at about railing height. "I don't believe it..." Some red lightning dances around Super Saiya-jin Vegeta. Bulma, "This can't be happening... This has to be some kind of mistake." She faints, and Chichi catches her. There's a mass exodus toward the exit, and it's a wonder they can even move out. Goku finally drops back to the ground and stares in horror at the smoking hole. He clenches his teeth, looks back, and then turns around to face Vegeta. "Vegeta..." Vegeta's grin grows wider. The background fades out and all we see are their faces, separated by bolts of red lightning.
