The Fated Battle!! Goku vs. Vegeta

Smoke rises out of the gaping hole in the side of the Tenkaichi Budokai stadium. A shallow canyon runs from the opening off into the distance, tearing straight through a city. Screaming spectators flee the area as quickly as possible, and the seats are littered with abandoned items. Satan trembles, staring with saucer eyes at Vegeta. The announcer stands behind him, and Goku, Gohan, and Kaioushin stand across from Vegeta. Gohan, "Vegeta-san! What the hell are you doing!?" Goku glares at him, and Vegeta simply smirks back at them. Number 18 watches from nearby. "Something's wrong with Vegeta... I've never felt him like this before." Bulma leans over the railing. "Wh-what do you think you're doing, Vegeta!?" Vegeta grins evilly (...is that even a word?) at Goku.

The two miniature Super Saiya-jin continue their flight to Babidi's ship, side by side. Goten looks over to Trunks. "What's a Majin like? Are they strong?" Trunks looks back at him. "I hope our Papas haven't beaten him yet." Goten, "No! No way!" Trunks, "But your Papa and my Papa, and Gohan-san are fighting him. They can beat anyone!" Goten flails his arms wildly. "No! No! No! That's too boring! I want to see Majin Buu!" Trunks smiles. "Alright! Let's really take off this time, Goten!" Goten, "Yeah!" And then they simultaneously rocket ahead.

Babidi laughs gleefully. "This is great! Over two hundred of them are dead!" He and Dabura watch the action through the crystal ball. At the stadium, smoke continues to pour out of the stadium. "SATAN" signs and other items litter the surrounding area. Except for the people on the stage and a few stragglers in the stands, the entire stadium is virtually deserted. Satan's mouth hangs open and he continues simply staring at Vegeta in disbelief. The announcer walks up to him and whispers, "What should we do, Mr. Satan?" Satan, "Th-that's a good question." Suddenly, a voice cries out, "Help us, Mr. Satan!" He looks up. "Huh?" A crowd of people are hanging out near the back of the seats, and the man who first yelled continues, "You can beat him easily!" Another man, "Satan, kill him!" Satan stares at them, once again stuck between a rock and a hard place. The announcer looks up at him. "Mr. Satan... No, Champion..." Satan gasps. "They're right, I'm the Champion. I can't run away from an opponent, no matter who he is." His fear fades to anger and determination. He clenches his teeth and glares at Vegeta. He points at him and says, "H-hey, you! What do you think you're doing!?" He begins walking in something of a circle around Vegeta, slowly sidestepping his way around clockwise. "If you don't behave yourself, you're going to...force the Champion, Mr. Satan, to..." Vegeta grins, but doesn't take his eyes away from Goku. Satan, "Mr. Satan... Satan..." He's thrown off just by the fact that Vegeta appears to be ignoring him. The announcer whispers to him, "What is he going to force you to do?" Satan, "Huh?" He thinks for a moment, then laughs. He waves his hands at Vegeta and says, "Hey you guys, violence never solves anything. It's bad to destroy other people's property." He holds up his finger as if in explanation. "Go somewhere else to finish this off, and then I'll reward the winner with an opportunity to fight me." He closes his eyes (self-confidently, not "I don't want to see what happens next") and crosses his arms. Vegeta, "You!" He and the announcer both jump into each other's arms, trembling.

"What are you going to do, Kakkarotto?" Satan and the announcer gasp and look over at Goku, who remains silent. After a few seconds, Vegeta continues, "Fight me if you don't want the mountain of corpses to grow." Goku gasps. "Vegeta... You didn't intentionally... You didn't let yourself get charmed just so that you could fight me, did you?" Both gasping, Kaioushin and Gohan turn to Goku. Gohan, "Impossible!" And Vegeta just grins in response. "Answer me, Vegeta!" Vegeta holds his right hand (viewer's left) straight out and forms a ki blast. Goku watches in shock as he vaporizes another section of the stadium right next to the Z Senshi families. Screams ring out throughout the stadium. Dust and debris fly out over the stage and Vegeta grins, lifting his head up. Satan and the announcer shrink away in shock and fear. Gohan is stunned.

Anyone remaining in the stands begins to clear out. A woman stares at the wreckage and screams. Goku watches the billowing anger in astonishment and anger. He slowly turns back to Vegeta, who is, of course, still grinning. He slowly raises his arms to about chest height and glares at Vegeta, trying to control his rage. Gohan runs out between them. "Please stop, Vegeta-san!" Angrily, Vegeta swipes at him, throwing up a wind that knocks him over. "Stay out of this! Little fish should stay away! This is a fight between me and Kakkarotto!" Goku, "No matter what, Vegeta?" Gohan climbs back to his feet, but no one says a word after that. After a few seconds, a light wind begins to blow at Goku's hair and it slowly lifts up, turning gold. He gets his golden aura and well, you know how it goes. Vegeta straightens up, laughing.

Kaioushin runs up to Goku. "Please don't, Goku-san! If you fight, you'll be falling into Babidi's trap! He'll absorb your energy, and it's surely enough to resurrect Majin Buu!" Goku ignores him. "Vegeta. You went out of your way to be charmed by Babidi just so that you'd have a reason to fight me. Am I wrong?" Gohan gasps. "What did you say!?" Vegeta, "If I hadn't, we would never have fought. You only have one day back in this world and they came to get in the way." Kaioushin, "That's it!? That's your stupid reason for being charmed!?" Vegeta is stunned by anger. Enraged, he rasps, "Stupid reason!?" Kaioushin gasps. He begins raising his ki and yells, "STUPID REASON!?" Kaioushin throws up his arms in defense as debris and dust are thrown up by the rising ki. "That's everything for me! I don't care at all about Majin Buu! He got stronger than me!" He points at Goku. "Even though we're both Saiya-jin, he surpassed me! Me! The Saiya-jin Prince who was so proud of his superior power!" Goku glares at him silently and Vegeta hunches over into a power-up position as he continues. "He's even saved my life! I can't forgive that! ABSOLUTELY NOT!"

Gohan and Kaioushin both turn from Vegeta to Goku, eyeing each of them with curiosity. Finally, after a long pause, Goku looks toward the sky and yells, "Babidi! Move us somewhere uninhabited!" Kaioushin gasps in shock. "I've decided to fight Vegeta!" Babidi laughs. "Look! I've done it!" Kaioushin, "Wait!" He jumps between Goku and Vegeta, holding his arms out. "If you want to fight that badly, you'll have to kill me first!" Gohan pretty much just stands there as if in a trance. Kaioushin stares up at Goku, and Goku back at him.

Kaioushin and Goku stare each other down. Goku drops his fists, but remains a Super Saiya-jin. Kaioushin doesn't move, and slowly, Goku lifts his right arm. Gohan watches in shock, and even Vegeta's surprised when Goku aims his palm right at Kaioushin's face. Kaioushin gasps and his eyes go wide. Gohan, "D-Dad..." Kaioushin stares up fearfully, but doesn't move. Goku forms a ki blast in his hand. He holds it and stares down at Kaioushin, who stares back with utter shock. For several seconds, they stare at each other, and then finally, Kaioushin drops his arms and lowers his head in defeat. "I understand. Do as you wish." He steps out of the way, his back to all of them, and Goku drops his arm. "I'm sorry, Kaioushin-sama." Goku turns back to Vegeta, whose grin widens.

Babidi laughs happily. He hops up and down. "Has their friendship already broken up? Take that, Kaioushin!" Dabura crosses his arms. "It's only a matter of time now until Majin Buu is brought back to life." Babidi runs by, giggling, then suddenly stops. "I'll do as they wish and move them." He holds up his arms. "Papparapa!" The announcer and Satan slowly edge away from Vegeta and Goku, and then suddenly they all disappear. Announcer, "Huh? They've vanished... Where have they gone? Do you know, Mr. Satan?" Satan laughs. "Damn! And I was just getting ready to teach them a lesson!"

Goku and the others, as well as the floor of the ship, suddenly appear in the middle of an otherwise empty desert area. When they materialize, it kicks up some dust, added to the dust already being blown about by a light wind. Vegeta, "You shouldn't have any complaints about this place." Goku, "No." Gohan, "Don't do it, Dad!" Kaioushin, "Don't worry." Gohan gasps, and Kaioushin starts walking away, passing in front of Goku. "There's nothing we can do to stop them anyway." Kaioushin stops in front of Goku and smiles. "Fight all you want. Son Gohan-san and I will break into the ship and fight Babidi and Dabura." He turns away and walks over to the pathway that leads to the next level. "It'll be too bad if the shock awakens Majin Buu, but if he's going to come back anyway, I'd rather fight a weak Majin Buu than one fully powered by your damage energy." He holds up a fist, and Goku remains silent. "And if we're lucky, we might be able to stop him before he's brought back to life."

Babidi watches on the crystal ball. "What!?" He giggles. "I can't let you do that!" He waves his hands around the crystal ball. "Vegeta, stop them! Kill them! Kill them!" The order shoots through Vegeta like a gunshot and he suddenly gasps almost as if in pain. He clenches his teeth. Babidi's image appears in his turquoise pupils and his voice echoes in his mind. Vegeta clutches his head, groaning in pain, then screams. Kaioushin cries out in surprise. Vegeta falls to his knees, still holding his head. Kaioushin, "Babidi's magic!" Vegeta continues his screaming. "Do it Vegeta! Kill them!" Vegeta shakes his head and falls even further so that he can't even hold his head with both hands because one is on the ground supporting his upper body weight. "Do it already!" He shakes and trembles, his M glowing red. Finally, he lifts himself up and says, "I refuse."

Babidi, "What!?" Dabura gasps. Vegeta rises to his feet. "I don't care at all what they do!" Babidi puts his hands up around the crystal ball again. "I'll only tell you this one more time. Take care of Kaioushin!" Vegeta hunches over a little, clenching and unclenching his fists, his shoulders trembling. "Do it, Vegeta!" Vegeta stumbles forward a few steps. "I've already said... I only want to fight Kakkarotto! I'm the Prince of the Saiya-jin! Do you think I'd be your slave!? Even if you control my mind and body, you'll never touch my pride!" Lightning begins dancing around him and he throws back his head, sticking his chest out as he screams and raises his ki. Streams of ki run out from his strengthened aura and most of the area is no longer visible because of the huge dust cloud. Babidi's crystal ball glows gold and red lightning begins running across its surface. He stumbles back, staring at it in shock. The dust settles and in the background, a few rock formations crumble. "I can't believe this! This has never happened before! I can't believe his pride!" Dabura, "Hm." He grins. "We shouldn't worry. After all, his only duty is to gather energy for you. If Kaioushin shows up, he'll be helpless as long as I'm here."

Kaioushin stares at Vegeta in shock. "I never would have believed there'd be a mortal who could resist Babidi after being charmed." Goku, "Do you really want to finish the fight with me that badly, Vegeta?" Vegeta straightens up, grinning.

Dabura, "It'd probably be best if we opened the doors and allowed Kaioushin to come here unobstructed. It wouldn't be very interesting if they shocked Majin Buu back to life before he was perfected." Babidi looks back at him. "You're right. I understand."

On the surface, the door opens. Kaioushin gasps and Gohan runs up to the other side. Gohan, "It opened by itself!" Kaioushin, "He'd be in trouble if we destroyed his spaceship." Gohan looks back at Goku. "Bye, Dad. We'll be right back." Goku smiles. "Alright. Do your best. Ah, wait Gohan. We still have two senzu left. It's what's left over after I brought some for your girlfriend." He pulls them out. "You should eat one before you go. You used up a lot of energy in that last fight." He tosses it to Gohan. "Th-thanks." Gohan eats it. "Get angry, Gohan. Remember how angry you got when you fought Cell. Use all of your power." Gohan, "Get angry...?" Goku, "If you do that, there's no one who can beat you. No one at all." Gohan, "Alright... But Dad, it's too bad your only day on Earth had to turn out like this." Goku smiles. Gohan, "B-bye!" And he and Kaioushin abruptly jump into the ship.

Goku watches them disappear, and then his smile immediately fades. He looks back to Vegeta. "Sorry to keep you waiting." Vegeta, "I've been waiting for this, Kakkarotto... I've been waiting for a long time!" He holds up his fists, then hunches over into a fighting pose. Goku, "I don't want the damage you cause to me to be used for Majin Buu. I'll have to fight you at full power to get this over with as soon as possible." Vegeta, "I'm looking forward to it. I want to see how effective your training in the afterlife was." Some lightning quickly jumps out and then disappears in front of Goku as he clenches his fists and raises his ki. He glows gold briefly and the area goes dark. More lightning appears. "Impressive. You're even stronger than Gohan was when he fought Cell." Vegeta screams and begins raising his own ki. Goku, "Hm?" The dust clears a little and they size each other up. Goku, "It doesn't look like this will end quickly." Vegeta adopts a fighting stance. "Let's go! I'm going to kill you, Kakkarotto!" They stare at each other as the force of their combined ki throws up a seemingly endless amount of dust.
