Goku's Composure!? Just Relax and Wait for the Cell Game

Piccolo, "You mean you've had enough use of it? You're not going in again?" Goku, "That's right." Piccolo, "Why? You can still go in for one day." Goku, "The body has to suffer a lot in the Room, even without doing everything. Then I can't have a good rest." Vegeta, "Even Kakkarotto can't bear suffering in the room?" Goku, "Maybe, but even if we force ourselves to tolerate it, it's just pain. That's not practice. But I don't object to your going back into the Room. There's still room for improvement." Vegeta, "What? I don't think I heard what you said. It seemed like you meant that you're more powerful than I am." Goku, "Much more." Vegeta, "What?!" Goku smiles at him, and of course, Vegeta starts to get very angry. Goku, "Let's all work very hard. See you at the tournament." Goku turns to Piccolo, then back to Gohan. "Let's go, Gohan." Gohan nods, "Yes," and they fly away. Everyone watches them until they disappear over the edge of God's Shrine.

Gohan stares at his father. Goku looks straight down, but finally looks over at Gohan. "I'll go down." Gohan nods, and Goku speeds up. Goku stops at Karin's Tower. Gohan stops behind him and watches. Goku turns and flies on in, and of course, Gohan follows him. They're greeted by Karin and Yajirobe. "Karin-sama, how are you?" Karin nods. Gohan, "Hello, it's been a long time." Karin, "You've grown a lot." Goku waves. "How are you, Yajirobe? So you're back?" Yajirobe sits behind Karin with his arms crossed. "Why are you back, Goku? Let me make it clear. No matter what, I will not participate in the competition." Goku laughs. "It's alright. I didn't ask you to." Yajirobe, apparently a little surprised that Goku didn't ask for help, responds. "Good. I always depend on a critical moment. A secret weapon." Karin, "What a grand title." Goku laughs. Karin continues, "But the Earth is in deep trouble this time. It's too chaotic." Gohan looks at Goku. Goku, "Cell is really powerful. He's become a whole body. He's obtained Perfect power." Karin, "But surprisingly, you are so calm. Well? You must have some amazing discoveries from the Room of Spirit and Time, right?" Goku rubs his head and laughs. "Maybe..." Gohan stares up at Goku. "Did we? I've been with Father the whole time..." Goku, "Karin-sama, you've been watching here all this time, you should know how strong Cell is." Karin, "Although I haven't seen his real power, I can sort of predict it." Goku, "Let me try to compare. I'll be increasing my ki now." Karin nods.

Everyone is still standing around atop God's Shrine. Tenshinhan, "Are Goku and Gohan in the Super Saiya-jin state now? But there's no unnatural feeling..." Piccolo, "Right, they're Super Saiya-jin. But they've managed to achieve this state. They'er able to keep that state at all times." Trunks, "Then when they fight, will they transform to something more powerful?" Vegeta, "You're too foolish!" Trunks spins around to look at him. "Looks like you haven't thought at all. Kakkarotto must have realized that it's best to keep that state all the time. If you're used to that state, even if the fighting force has increased, only a small burden will be added to the body." Trunks is, of course, silent. Vegeta, "He's so smart." Trunks looks at the floor, still contemplating. "I see... So just the transformation of the body is useless. That's why I couldn't beat Cell."

Goku screams, and suddenly golden light pours out of Karin's Tower. The high wind generated by the power up blows so hard on Karin and Yajirobe that one would just as soon think they were standing next to a nuclear blast, rather than Son Goku. Karin and Yajirobe struggle to keep from being blown away as they stand, screaming into the wind. Gohan, on the other hand, has no problem keeping his balance, and he's even closer to Goku than they. Higher up at God's Shrine, the people continue to simply stand around until suddenly, the sky turns dark and they're hit with an amazing force that shakes God's Shrine. Ten, "What is this ki?!" Piccolo, "It's Goku!" Trunks gasps, and Vegeta begins to get even more angry than he was before; now, not only has Goku said that he's stronger than Vegeta, but he's actually proving it, too. Rocks and debris rise into the air, even as far up as God's Shrine, and the new sky, dark blue and black, is reflected by the white tiles that make up the surface of God's Shrine. Back down at Karin's Tower, Yajirobe and Karin have to hold on to a supporting column in order to keep from blowing off the other side of the tower. Yajirobe loses his grip and flies all the way back, but managed to catch the final railing. The building begins to crack apart. Karin holds his hand up. "Stop! This place will be destroyed!" Finally, Goku does stop, and Karin breathes a sigh of relief. Yajirobe screams and kicks the open air underneath him. Goku looks down, then back up at Karin. "It's about half of my energy now. What do you say?" Karin, "Half?! How scary." Behind him, we can see Yajirobe pulling himself back up to the floor of the tower. "How much more do you want to increase?" Gohan stares at Goku. "Has Father become so powerful?" Yajirobe crawls back over to his spot beside Karin. Goku, "Karin-sama, to compare with Cell, how good am I?" Karin ponders for a moment. "That's a difficult question. I can only answer by estimation. You're not as powerful as Cell." Gohan gasps. Yajirobe, "That Cell is really something." Goku laughs. "Really?" Karin and Gohan look up at him. "That's what I had assumed. Thank you, Karin-sama." He puts his hand on Gohan's back. "Let's go, Gohan." Gohan, "Okay..." Goku raises his fingers to his forehead. Gohan, "Goodbye. Sorry to have bothered you guys." They vanish, which shocks Yajirobe. He screams and jumps up. "Gone. He's not a human being anymore." Karin pictures Goku. "No matter what, Goku can't possibly win, but he's so calm. I don't think that attitude is normal."

Tenshinhan stares off the edge of God's Shrine. "But he's powerful indeed." Piccolo, "Besides, he hasn't shown all his power. If he has..." Trunks, "Amazing... Maybe he can beat Cell." Vegeta clenches a fist. "Damn it... Kakkarotto is always ahead of me. That's really driving me nuts." On either side of him, an image of Goku closes in. On the left is Super Saiya-jin, on the right is normal. "I thought I'd caught up. Now he's ahead of me again." He looks back up at the others. "Piccolo!" They all turn around. "Come on and go in if you want to. Everyone is waiting."

The water washes up on the beach around Kame House. Son Goku and Gohan materialize at the water's edge. Goku, "Bring mom home. We'll relax at home. Rest for three days, practice for three days, then we'll rest for another three days. Then we'll go to the competition." Goku walks toward the door, but Gohan doesn't take a step forward. "Father!" Goku stops and turns around. "Can that do? That way, we can beat Cell...?" Goku smiles and walks back over to him. "Don't worry. Go home to mom." He leads Gohan to the door.

The front door to Kame House opens. Muten Roshi turns around. "Hmm?" Goku waves, and is greeted by surprise. He laughs and walks up to the table. "How is everyone?" Roshi, "Go...Goku?" Goku nods with a smile. Muten Roshi crawls up to them. "Is it really Goku?" Goku, "Yes, what are you saying?" Oolong walks up beside Roshi. "And you're Gohan? You're totally different!" Puar appears with them, too. "Indeed!" Gohan, "How are you?" Yamucha stands. "Goku, you know Cell will hold a martial arts competition?" Goku nods. "Trunks already told me. Then I also saw Cell, who has become a whole body." Roshi, "What?" Kuririn stands up. "By Shunkan Idou?" Goku, "Yeah, that's right. But he's really too powerful. I can't beat him." Goku rubs his head and laughs. Everyone stands in silence, bewildered at Goku's attitude. Yamucha suddenly smiles. "Don't be so modest!" Goku, "No, I'm not being modest, that's the truth." Yamucha gasps. Kamesennin, "But you look so confident..." Oolong, "What have you kept?" Goku laughs and scratches the side of his face. "Let's chat later. Where's Chichi? I want to go home with her." Kuririn looks back at the stairs. "Chichi-san is up stairs." Goku steps forward and cups his hand around his mouth. "Hey, Chichi!" She walks down the stairs. "What? Goku-san? I'm so mad! Where have you been?" She suddenly stops and gapes at her Super Saiya-jin son. Goku laughs and waves. "Chichi, let's go home together." She manages to shut her mouth most of the way, but she remains wide-eyed. Gohan, "Come on, Mother, we'll go home." Chichi, "You're Gohan-chan?" Gohan, "Hmm? Yes..." Goku laughs. "Chichi, what do you mean?" Roshi stands up. "Well, Chichi-san..." Chichi stares at them, completely 'out of it,' per se. Suddenly, she screams, and the entire island seems to shake. Everyone cringes. She runs up to Gohan and kneels down in front of him so that they're about the same height. She grabs him by the shoulders. "What's the matter?! You had your hair dyed?" She pulls on his hair, and Gohan yelps. Goku tries to calm her. "No, Chichi, you're wrong." She falls to her knees and cries. "My Gohan has turned into a little moron!" Goku, "You're wrong..."

Cell stands in the center of his stage. "Alright, let me have a warmup." He looks up at the sky, then flies straight up. His body begins to glow until it's basically just a fireball as he reaches the upper atmosphere. "Now, the cells of Freezer and his father are finally useful." He escapes the Earth's gravity and atmosphere and flies out into an asteroid belt (considering his proximity to the Earth, my assumption is that this is what remains of the moon after Roshi blew it up). He smiles and begins training amidst the asteroids. He dodges some, smashes others, but they're all small and meaningless. A giant asteroid drifts toward him. He smiles. We see a view of him with the entire Earth in the background. "It's too boring. Let's show the human beings something fun." He holds out an arm, and when the asteroid runs into him, he very easily succeeds in stopping it. He blasts straight through it, turning it into hundreds of small rocks which proceed to enter the Earth's atmosphere. People in some city look up at the sky as the asteroids impact nearby. "A meteor in daytime? Game over for the world."

"Goku-san!" Chichi walks into the living room to find it empty. "What...?" She leans out the front door. "Gohan-chan!" No answer. She looks around. "Where have they gone?" An asteroid flies through the sky overhead. Goku and Gohan lean back on a grassy hillside, fishing poles by their side extended into the pond below their feet. Gohan, "This place is so strange. Father..." Goku, "Hmm?" Gohan, "I'm happy." Goku, "Why?" Gohan, "You promised to take me fishing." Goku sits up. "Did I promise you that?" Gohan sits up as well. "Yes, when we first fought with Vegeta." Goku, "When?" Kuririn lands behind Goku. "At that time..." Goku turns around. "Kuririn!" Kuririn, "Goku, do you want to get up? Goku..." He holds his hand out to Goku.
Kuririn holds his hand out to Goku. "So sorry to leave our fate to you all the time. But don't die, my best friend." Goku grabs his hand and nods. Gohan grabs at his father's leg. "Father..." Goku reaches down and rubs his head. "Gohan, if I can come back alive, I'll go fishing with you.
Goku smiles. Kuririn, "Now you remember?" Goku, "That's when!" Gohan, "Since then, we went through all sorts of training. So we couldn't go fishing, not once." Goku pats him on the back. "Sorry, Gohan." Gohan looks at him, smiles, and shakes his head.

Kuririn sits down beside Goku. "Goku, I've come to apologize." Goku, "About what?" Kuririn, "Cell was able to reach Perfection only because I didn't destroy Number 18." Goku, "Don't feel bad about that, because now we have the chance to fight with someone really powerful." Kuririn looks away. "I'm so sorry to bother you all the time." Goku, "What, Kuririn? We're close friends." Gohan, "Right! Kuririn-san is acting strangely." Kuririn, "I've been feeling I'm behind you more and more. It's impossible for us to go fighting together." Goku, "Is it? It's like only yesterday, we were trained by Kamesennin." Kuririn stands up. "Don't go on. That's a long time ago." He raises his fingers to his forehead. Goku, "What?" He pats Kuririn on the back, but he hits a bit too hard. "Don't act like that!" Kuririn's arms flail wildly and he screams as he struggles to keep from falling into the pond. He steadies himself on Goku's fishing rod, but only momentarily, before the rod goes in with him. Kuririn breaks through the surface of the water again, thrashing about in the pond. "Help, Goku!" Goku holds his arm out. "Kuririn, sorry!" Kuririn grabs his hand and suddenly stops screaming. He smiles and pulls Goku in. Goku yells out in surprise. Kuririn laughs and points at Goku. "Still the same old Goku. He's still so naive." Goku, "Kuririn, you've made it..." Gohan laughs.

Gohan lays down beside Goku in a grassy field. "It feels so good!" Goku doesn't stir, apparently already asleep. Kuririn sits nearby, watching them. His arm, supported by his knee, supports his head. "Goku really hasn't changed at all." He sits up. A butterfly lands on Goku's nose. Goku doesn't awaken. "So that's how. Goku and Gohan practiced..." He picks up a rock and tosses it up and down in his hand. "Let me try it, too. Though it seems they're sleeping, they must still be keeping an eye on the surrounding." He stares at the sleeping, smiling Son Goku. "A stone like this, they must be able to avoid." He giggles. "For sure!" He pulls his hand back and throws the stone...and the stone hits. Goku bolts up and rubs the spot where it hit. "It's killing me! What are you doing, Kuririn?!" Kuririn stands up. "Ah, sorry..." Goku, "Even Super Saiya-jin have painful feelings, too!" Kuririn raises an eyebrow, surprised that his experiment didn't go as planned.

Goku stuffs himself with food. He stops for a moment to smile and compliment the cooking. "It's marvelous!" He goes back to his eating. Kuririn watches, almost as if entranced by the way Goku seems to be a bottomless pit. Gohan sits at the table eating, too, but at a much more healthy pace. He lowers a bowl from his face. "I'm full." Chichi walks in. "Gohan, now that you're full, study your books." Gohan, "Okay." Kuririn looks over, surprised by that little scene. Gohan gets up and walks away. Goku sets the bowl town to take a gulp of whatever he's drinking. "Is that what Goku meant by practicing? Can they beat Cell just by this?" He looks back to Goku, who has returned to his food. In another room, Gohan happily reads a text book. Goku leans back and pats his belly. "I'm full." Meanwhile, Cell stands in the center of his stage again, waiting for the tournament to begin...
