Find a New God!! Goku's Shunkan Idou
Vegeta paces back and forth atop God's Shrine. "Why is that guy in there for such a long time?" He stops in front of the door. "Maybe he's dead in there." Popo, "It hasn't been 24 hours yet. He still has time." Vegeta kicks the door. "Damn it! I won't let him be even a second late." He walks away. "Otherwise, I'll break the door down and drag him out." Popo suddenly smiles and looks at the door. "He's out!" Vegeta stops. He and Trunks turn back toward the door. Finally, the doorknob turns and the heavy door swings open. Vegeta, "You're finally willing to come out?" Piccolo stands in the doorway silently. Popo stares up at him in awe. Trunks, as well. Vegeta, "Alright, it's my turn now." Piccolo walks out from the door as Vegeta walks in toward it. Trunks, "Piccolo-san is much more powerful than before." Vegeta and Piccolo pass each other. Piccolo is completely silent. Vegeta stops and looks back at him. "What is the matter with you? You haven't changed at all." Vegeta smirks. "Have you been sleeping inside?" Piccolo turns and glares at him. Vegeta walks into the room, still smirking as the door swings shut behind him. "Watch it, Kakkarotto. I'm going to be better than you." Vegeta clenches a fist. "For sure..."
Bulma types away at a computer terminal. A voice speaks in the background. "My people, our army will do their very best to stop the monster, Cell. Please don't panic." Bulma continues typing, not even bothering to look up at their dog leader. "Just wait calmly." Finally, she shuts off the television. "The army cannot beat Cell. We must depend on Goku." Images of Number 16's skeletal structure appear on screen - specifically, his skull. "But Number 16 is really something. He's even more powerful than Number 17 and Number 18, and he has a device for detecting ki. I wonder what material he's made of."
Chichi lays out dishes on a blanket outside. Nearby, Kuririn, Goku, and Gohan stand by the lake. A fish flops out of the water and splashes back in. Goku, "I get it, look." He points. "Big fish in that lake." Gohan looks up at him. "Father." Goku, "Hmm?" Gohan, "Can we really live such an easy and relaxed life?" Kuririn, "Why are you so laid back?" Goku, "Don't worry. Maybe it'll work out." Gohan, "Maybe?" Goku, "Don't worry, we can win. I told you that." He puts a hand on each of their backs. "It's pointless to go on practicing now. We've reached the highest level." Gohan nods. "Right." Kuririn scratches his head. "Well since Goku said it, I can only believe it." Chichi turns to them. "Everyone, the meal boxes are ready." Goku looks back at her. "Thank you." He turns back to Gohan. "Forget it. Live an easy life." He walks away. Gohan watches him, still apparently unsure of how his father can be so calm.
Goku approaches the
blanket full of food. "They look delicious!" He sits,
and Kuririn and Gohan soon follow. Kuririn looks over at the car
they all drove in. "But I'm really surprised? When did Goku
get the driver's license?" Chichi, "That was two years
ago. He got it with Piccolo." Kuririn, "With
Piccolo?" Flash back to Goku and Piccolo's race on the
highway. Chichi, "Right, but they were too naughty, giving
the instructors a hard time." Piccolo slides down a
hillside, taking the lead in their race. "So they didn't
pass." Kuririn, "I think I understand what you
mean." The cars bump together and then fly off to either
side before slamming back into each other and bouncing away
again. Goku's car goes into a corkscrew, and he struggles to keep
control. It tips and flies on its side, bouncing off the ground.
It flips once, rights itself, flies straight into oncoming
traffic. They drive through a tunnel. Goku and the instructor
speak, but their conversation is not heard. Goku pulls the wheel
out of the steering column and holds it up. They fly out of the
tunnel and skip across the water.
Goku enjoys a chunk of meat while Chichi tells her story.
"But I tried very hard to beg the driving school to teach
them again, so they finally got it." Kuririn, "What
about the written test?" Chichi smiles. "I spent all
night teaching Goku-san." Kuririn, "Good for you,
Chichi." Chichi looks off at the sky. "With this,
Goku-san can drive us around." She leans back and sighs.
"I was so happy, it was like a dream." She straighens
up again. "Goku-san is really a good husband." Goku
looks over at her. In his lap is one dish full of food, in his
hand is another, in his other hand is a large bone of meat, and
in his mouth is another, smaller meat bone. He speaks through his
food. "Yes." Chichi falls over.
Clouds drift slowly over the lake. Goku is laying back, Chichi is leaning back on her hands, and Kuririn and Gohan are still just sitting on the corners of the blanket. Chichi looks over at Goku. "Let's go see Muten Roshi-sama before we go home." Goku nods his agreement and looks back at the sky, where a squadron of figher planes flies overhead. Goku sits up. The other three watch in silence as the planes pass by.
The highway is completely jammed. One man leans out his window and shakes his fist. "Damn it, what's keeping you? I'm going to beat you up!" Another man looks back at him. "Shut up, or Cell will eat you up!" The Son family car speeds down the highway in the other lane going into the city, which is completely empty aside from their car. Kuririn stares out the window at the passing scenery...or rather, the line of motionless cars. "The traffic is terrible." Chichi, "Everyone is escaping from town." Kuririn, "Everyone thinks it's safer to leave the town." Goku, "Maybe so."
The Son family and Kuririn move through what seems to be a completely normal metropolitan area, except for one minor detail - it's completely deserted. A poster, blown by the wind, flies into the street. The car's occupants look back and forth at the passing buildings as they drive through the city. Goku, "All of the stores are closed." Chichi, "Because seven days from now, all of the people will die, so nobody wants to work." She leans back in her seat. "And we can't buy anything now." Goku, "I still want to buy Kamesennin some presents..." Gohan and Kuririn stare out the window.
Suddenly, the music on the radio stops. "Special report." Goku turns to Chichi. "Someone is still working." Radio, "In order to destroy the monster, Cell, the Defense Army of Area 5 of 28KS is ready to start their attack soon." Goku, "Hmm? What?" Kuririn and Gohan shift a bit in their seats, and everyone stares at the radio.
Dust flies up under the tanks and infantry as they approach Cell's stage. Overhead, scores of aircraft move in to support the ground troops. Figher squadrons fly by over Cell. Cell looks up at them, then turns to the army behind him. The tanks and infantry have stopped moving, and the dust clears. Cell's stage is shown from far overhead; it is completely surrounded on the ground, with hundreds of aircraft circling in the sky. Cell smiles. "Our audience at home may see this is our army." A news crew reports on the upcoming attack from quite a distance away in a helicopter. "No matter what monster that is, it will be unable to resist the attack." A fighter speeds past him.
The car is now stopped in the street. Abandoned scraps of paper blow about in the light breeze. Inside the car, everyone is watching the radio. Kuririn, "Army?" Goku narrows his eyes, frustrated and angry. "Stupid, what are they doing? Don't they know they will die in vain?"
Cell stares up at the planes flying by overhead. His arms are crossed, he's completely calm. "Alright, has the stupid army arrived?" A man yells into his radio, "ATTACK!" Soldiers lift bazookas over their shoulders. Tanks set their targets. Cell grins at the army and jumps into the air. Soldier, "He's gone!" Cell lands nearby. "Idiot, I just don't want to damage the stage that I've built with such effort." Leader, "Don't let him escape! Attack! Strike!" And the army barrages Cell's hillside. Guns and tanks fire. Missiles launch. Planes drop bombs on him from above. The hill is lost in a huge cloud of dust. Reporter, "The massive attack has begun! Please listen to the bombing sound!" Over the radio, "The vigorous sound is still going on! Attack by such a strong force, I bet he must be totally crashed!" The look on Goku's face clearly expresses his disagreement. "Run now. Hurry!"
The hill begins to break apart and crumble. Missiles and tanks continue to strike at the hillside. The leader raises his arm. "Alright, stop!" One soldier laughs gleefully and continues to fire. A tank continues to unload its cannon on Cell, and a plane flies in with guns blazing. "Stop, that's enough! Don't attack!" The soldiers finally stop firing. They grin and pant. Soldier, "Well? He's doomed!" The hill continues to fall, apparently not completely leveled yet. An enormous cloud of dust and smoke rises from the center of the attack. The leader grins and looks in with binoculars. The dust takes a long time to clear out, but after a while, a faint form is discernible in the middle. He lowers his binoculars for a moment. "Hmm?" He looks through them again, and as the dust settles, Cell becomes more and more recognizable. The man gasps. Cell stares out at the army. "Impossible!"
Cell stands in the center of the attack with one hand on his hip, simply watching the army. The soldiers gasp when they see that he survived. "It can't be true! He's still alive? Monster!" Cell raises his arm out, palm facing the army. "I must badly punish these fools." He laughs. The infantry turns and begins to run away. Planes speed out, trying to escape. Tanks spin around and roll on out.
Gohan stares down at the radio, fearful, frustrated, angry. Radio, "Unbelievable! He's still alive! It seems that Cell wasn't hurt at all!" Goku, "Stop! Cell, don't kill!" Cell's raised arm begins to glow gold. He pulls back his arm and grins. Goku, "Stop!!" Cell swings his arm all the way around, so that his blast hits the entire army (remember, they were surrounding him). Infantrymen scream as the blast overtakes them. Over the radio in the car, the screams can be heard before the signal goes dead. Goku hits the button to silence the radio. "Damn it!" Cell stares down at the ruined ground where the army was standing just a moment ago and chuckles. "At least it can kill boredom." A shattered helmet rests below him on the ground.
Goku's door swings open and he climbs out. "I'm sorry. Go home first. I have to go and see Piccolo." He raises his hand to his forehead and vanishes. Chichi, "You'll go to see Piccolo? What's wrong?" Goku materializes at God's Shrine. Trunks looks over at him with a short gasp. Piccolo, "Goku." Goku, "Yeah. Piccolo, you've gone into the Room of Spirit and Time, too?" Goku, "Good for you. I can feel that you've become much more powerful." Piccolo, "Make it clear. Though I'm much more powerful, I'm still not strong enough to beat Cell?" Goku, "No." Piccolo laughs. "You're very honest. Why are you here?" Goku, "Can you make Kamisama and yourself, who have reunited, split into two persons again?" Piccolo, "What?" Goku, "After you and Kamisama reunited, the Dragon Balls disappeared. I wish the Dragon Balls could be brought back." The ruined army around Cell's stage is shown as Goku speaks. "And maybe the Dragon Balls will be of more use later." Piccolo, "I see. But I'm sorry, it's not possible. We can't split into two persons again after reunion. Otherwise, I wouldn't have hesitated so much before the reunion." Goku, "Sure, it's impossible. I learned from Gohan that the Namekseijin who survived went to some planet. Let me go and find them." Piccolo, "What?" Goku, "If I succeed and I find a Namekseijin who can life on Earth forever, Kamisama and the Dragon Balls can both come back to life." Popo grins. Piccolo, on the other hand, remains silent. "If I can find the New Planet Namek, if I can find the new Kamisama..." Popo, "Popo will be happy, too." Piccolo, "But how can you bring him back to Earth? Maybe it will take a long time for you to bring him from another planet." Goku, "Don't worry, I can use Shunkan Idou. If I can find a ki similar to yours, then I can find the right planet of the Namekseijin." Piccolo, "Can you detect a ki from such a distance?" Goku smiles. "Maybe. Maybe I can, if it's not too far away." He raises his fingers to his forehead. "Let me try now. Be quiet." Popo, Piccolo, and Trunks stare silently at Goku as he concentrates, searching out a Namekseijin ki. Popo gulps. Goku, "Hmm?" Popo gasps. A few seconds later, Goku lowers his fingers. "Sorry, I can't do that. What should I do?" Everyone stares at him with bulging eyes. Goku, "Right! Maybe Kaiousama can find them!" His fingers return to his forehead. "Kaiousama... Yes!" He vanishes. Trunks, "Things should work out." Piccolo, "I wonder if he will succeed."
Goku appears on Kaiousama's planetoid. "Where is Kaiousama?" He starts walking, looking for Kaiousama. Finally, he finds him asleep in a lounger. Goku chuckles. "Right." He walks toward Kaiou. Bubbles hoots and hops up to Goku. "Bubbles, it's been a long time. How are you?" He continues walking, and Bubbles follows him. He stops when he reaches the lounger. He leans over Kaiou. "Kaiousama. Can you please get up? I'm Son Goku." Kaiou doesn't rouse. A bubble pops on his nostril. Finally, he turns. "Goku?" He gasps. Goku's reflection is in his sunglasses. "The Super Saiya-jin? Are you here to chat with me?" Goku, "What? Your life is too calm." Kaiousama stands up. "You don't know that the Earth is in grave danger." Kaiousama gasps, and the 'camera' moves out from the planetoid.
