Prelude to the Final Battle!! Mr. Satan Will Fight First
Son Goku pulls on his blue wrist bands, and then his boots. He stands after tying the boots. "Alright, I'm going." Chichi and Gyuu Mao stare at him in awe. Goku walks out the door. Chichi runs after him. "Take care, Goku-san! Come back alive." Goku looks back at her and smiles. "Yes." Chichi, "Can Gohan-chan not take part?" Goku stammers, a sweat drop appearing on his left cheek. Chichi, "We agreed on that! Don't ask Gohan-chan to take part in the contest!" Goku smiles and runs away, saying "I'm going!" Chichi, "Wait a minute!" But Son Goku is already gone. "Maybe Gohan-chan has to take part in the contest, too?"
Son Gohan, Piccolo, Kuririn, Trunks, and Dende stand around in a circle. Son Goku appears behind Gohan. Gohan turns. "Hmm? Father." Kuririn, "He's coming." Goku, "The time has come." He suddenly looks up. "What? Where's Vegeta?" Piccolo, "He went by himself." Goku smiles. "Did he? Vegeta is really tough. He must have improved a lot." Everyone stares in Goku's general direction (although not necessarily right at him) with grim expressions. Goku, "What's the matter with everyone? Why are you so sad? Are you nervous?" Kuririn, "Goku, it's not good. We can bring a whole lot of people back to life with just one wish by the Dragon Balls..." He looks down at the floor. "...but just like before, those who have died once cannot be brought back to life again." Dende looks down. "I'm sorry. I should have made it clear in the beginning." Goku smiles and waves his hand. "What? Don't worry, Dende. It'll be fine, we just have to survive." Kuririn, "You mean you're not worried? But you're facing Cell!" Goku, "Alright, let's get there." He turns around, waving for anyone who's coming to come. "It'll be noon very soon."
Cell stands alone in the center of the stage. He smiles and looks up. "It's going to start soon. Hurry, Son Goku." A news crew peers over a cliff at Cell. Reporter, "The Cell Game will start in twenty minutes! The game that will decide the fate of the Earth... No one has come to watch the game. They're probably afraid that they'll get hurt. Just like you see..." The scene changes to a huge mass of people gathered around a giant video screen (think Times Square). "...Cell isn't moving a bit. He's just standing in the middle of the platform. Satan, who swore he'd beat Cell, has not arrived yet." Cell stands in the middle of the stage, oblivious to the news crew.
The reporter gasps and looks over toward an approaching cloud of dust. "Oh, that car...!" The car pulls to a stop near the stage. The dust settles down, and the view we get is from the ground up on the bottom left side. The car is black, and we can see the letters "SA" on the side. The door swings open, and Mr. Satan steps out. Reporter, "It's really Satan! Mr. Satan has finally come!" A better view of the car is shown, and obviously, the "SA" is just the beginning of the word "SATAN." The word is also scrawled over the top of the car, and most likely on the other side, too. Mr. Satan raises a fist into the air and yells. Reporter, "He's raising his arm in front of the camera! The attention of the audience..." Back in 'Times Square,' Satan fills the giant screen, and cheers rise up from the gathered crowd. "...Of the whole world is focused on him!" The crowd cheers and screams at Satan's image on-screen. "SA-TA-N! SA-TA-N! SA-TA-N!"
Mr. Satan slowly walks up the stage with a look of complete confidence in himself. Cell pays him no attention, not even bothering to turn around. Satan chuckles to himself as he approaches, and Cell finally bothers to at least turn his head to see his opponent. Satan stops and points at Cell, then does a thumbs-down gesture. The reporter screams into his microphone. "Mr. Satan has already shown his sign of victory! He sure is wonderful. He's the Tenkaichi Budokai champion, and is one of the strongest men in the world. Cell seems to be a bit nervous now." Cell stares at Satan. "What?" (Cell is also subbed as saying "That shit," which he obviously does NOT say. He DOES insult Satan in some way, but I don't understand the word he uses, so just know that there is supposed to be some sort of insult here). Reporter, "There are 20 minutes before Cell's Game will begin! The contest between Cell and Satan! If you ask me, I think Satan will beat Cell!"
Muten Roshi watches the broadcast from Kame House. He sips from a small cup silently. Reporter, "Mr. Satan! We're all anxiously hoping you'll win the most courageous form!" (no, that doesn't make any sense...gotta wonder why the hell fansubbers have to mess everything up sometimes, don't you?) Satan walks up to Cell, who, despite what the reporter may have said, still shows no sign of fear. Mr. Satan takes his first step onto the stage. "Mr. Satan is going up the platform! The game will start in twelve minutes! He's full of confidence! No wonder he's the strongest man in the world!" Mr. Satan pulls himself all the way up onto the platform and stares at Cell, who doesn't even turn anything more than his head.
Satan turns to the camera crew and motions for them to come closer. The reporter gasps. "He's asking us to go down?" Satan nods. Reporter, "What should we do?" A breeze blows by. The reporter stands up straight, as if suddenly determined for some reason. "Yes, let's go! We're professionals, let's show others our courage! Besides, Mr. Satan is here! We feel at ease."
The reporter and his camera man run across the ground together, searching for a better spot to report from. "Everyone, take a look at this image full of intensity! The bravest narrator in the entire world is approaching the platform which determines the fate of the world." They stop when they get to the side of the stage, and they stare up at Satan. Reporter, "Should we go up to the platform, too?" Satan, "I'm here, don't worry." Reporter, "Alright." He climbs up onto the stage and holds the microphone up to Mr. Satan. "How do you feel now, Mr. Satan?" Satan, "I sympathize with Cell, who had a wrong calculation. Maybe he didn't know someone like me exists in the world." Reporter, "Yes, yes." Satan pulls his cape over, and the cameraman moves in for a better view. "He's too proud. He hasn't apologized to me, even at this stage." Cheers and applause from the people at the big TV. "Listen, Cell! I've seen through you! You wiped out the army just by a trick using explosives, but this is not going to work on me!" Cell doesn't respond. "You're just pretending you can't hear me. You're panicing, because I've told the truth." The reporter laughs and glares at Cell. "Let's despise him!" They yell and laugh at Cell together. Satan, "I have to kick his ass!" (probably another mistranslation, but it's not so vulgar that I'd bother to try to find out "what it really is"). Satan turns and pats his backside in Cell's general direction. Cheers and applause go up from the crowd. "Yes, Mr. Satan! The strongest man in the world!" Muten Roshi, "Maybe he'll get killed..." Mr. Satan makes faces at Cell on television.
Five glowing forms race through the sky. Son Goku, Son Gohan, Kuririn, Piccolo, all completely silent, contemplating the upcoming battle (the fifth figure is Trunks, but I only listed them as they're shown, and Trunks isn't shown yet). Up ahead, two more people wait for them in the sky. Kuririn yells happily. As the five approach the other two, they become recognizable as Tenshinhan and Yamucha, already sporting blazing auras. Gohan, "It's Yamucha-san and Tenshinhan-san!" Son Goku, Kuririn, Gohan each stop as they reach Yamucha and Ten. Ten, "We'll go as well, but I guess we won't take part." Goku smiles and nods. "Alright." (something unsubbed) The five-turned-seven continues on to the tournament. Son Gohan, Kuririn. Yamucha, Tenshinhan. Trunks, Piccolo. Son Goku, with a smile on his face. All are quiet, their hair (if they have any...) blowing about in the high winds.
Mr. Satan still makes faces at Cell, who pays them no attention. He stops the faces to laugh at Cell, then smacks himself on the top of the head a few times. "Mr. Satan is really calm! His calmness has totally beaten Cell! Even before the tournament, we can see that victory is with Satan!" Cell glances over at the reporter - no, beyond the reporter. Reporter, "Hmm?" He stands up and looks back behind himself. A faint point of light resides in the sky. "Hmm? That is...?" The cameraman turns to catch it on film. Satan looks up at it. "What's the matter?" Cell turns and smiles. Reporter, "What on Earth is that?" Cell, "Vegeta. Again. You've increased a lot of power." The Saiya-jin prince is finally at a recognizable distance. He reaches the stage and settles nearby. The reporter stares at him, wide-eyed. "Hmm?" Vegeta glares at Cell silently. Reporter, "A strangem an has suddenly appeared. It looks like he was flying through the sky." Satan, "It's a cheap trick." Reporter, "He couldn't be taking part in Cell's Game?" The reporter runs up to Vegeta with the microphone. "Let me ask him! Who are you? If you came to see the competition, it's dangerous to come so near." Vegeta, "Go away. Don't talk to me anymore." The reporter looks at him, confused. He turns and runs back to hide by Satan. "He's not very friendly. Besides, he has an odd haircut." Satan, "That's difficult, because he will be in my way." Cell grins, and Vegeta stares on silently.
The reporter looks down at his watch. "The Cell Game is drawing near. Everyone's attention, it will start in five minutes! Just like our forecast, Mr. Satan is the only contestant..." The people in the city go wild with anticipation. "...to fight with Cell. But this is reasonable. Mr. Satan is the Tenkaichi Budokai champion. Just him is already good enough!" Another figure comes soaring in overhead, and Number 16 lands near the stage. Cell looks back at him, and the news crew and Satan turn, as well. Even Vegeta looks up. Reporter, "Someone else has flown here." Satan, "He's playing a trick as well." Cell, "It's really taken me by surprise. It's Number 16. I never thought he still existed. Plus, he's fixed." Number 16 stares at Cell quietly. Vegeta, "Only Bulma and her father are able to fix robots like him. They're too nosy." Reporter, "Cell has said something. Is he a friend of that man?" Satan, "They don't seem to be special." Cell tilts his head just a bit. He stares off at what seems to be nothing, and then finally, he smiles. "Son Goku is finally here. I've been waiting for you for a long time."
Seven more glowing warriors appear in the clouds above. Reporter, "There..." Satan, "What?" The group is shown as a whole, and then individually. Yamucha and Tenshinhan, Piccolo, Son Gohan, Kuririn, who flies up behind Gohan. Kuririn, "Oh, right there." Son Goku looks down at the stage below. "Good, let's go." The seven of them suddenly turn off their current course and fly in for a landing. All eyes are on the incoming Z Senshi (except Number 16 and Vegeta, of course). Son Goku lands first, followed quickly by Son Gohan and Kuririn, Trunks, Yamucha and Tenshinhan, Piccolo. Only their feet are shown (but it's quite obvious which is which from the clothing). Kuririn and Gohan stand side by side, with Piccolo towering behind Kuririn. Trunks and Goku stand front and center among the group. Across the stage from them is Number 16.
The crowd's cheering has died down into confused murmuring at the sudden appearance of nine warriors, and what's more, they're all unknown non-Satans. Man, "Who are they?" Man 2 raises a fist. "They'll just be in Satan's way!" Chichi watches from the Son home. "Gohan-chan!!" She hugs the television. "No! Gohan, don't take part!" She begins swinging the TV around. "Gohan, Gohan!" Gyuu Mao grabs her shoulders. "Calm down, Chichi! Calm down!" Calm down she does not, though. Gyuu Mao rubs his head where he was smacked, while Chichi continues to dance around with the television. "Don't take part in it! Gohan! Gohan!" Gyuu Mao grabs her shoulders again and gets swung into the floor.
Cell finally uncrosses his arms. "Welcome, everybody." Vegeta, "Tch. People begin to show up." Reporter, "And all of them flew here." Satan, "That seems to be a popular trick." Number 16 walks over to join the other Z Senshi. The cameraman, standing on the side of the stage, follows his movement with the camera. Kuririn turns and sees him, gasping. He smiles. "Number 16, are you fixed?" He stops in front of Kuririn. "I've been wanting to thank you. Thank you, Kuririn. Without you, I could never be fixed." Kuririn laughs. "Really? Good." Son Goku walks up to him and extends his arm. "We must all do our best." Number 16 stares down at him. Everyone suddenly stops, not quite sure what to expect next. After several moments of silence, Number 16 speaks. "Son Goku, I was created to kill you. Don't forget about this." Goku, "Hmm?" He turns back to Kuririn and whispers to him, "He's really stubborn." Everyone watches the Z Senshi. Satan, "They've overshadowed me."
Dende watches the tournament from God's Shrine. Popo, "Has the competition started?" Dende's eyes squeeze shut in concentration. "I don't think so."
Son Goku, "Good." He cracks his knuckles. "Let me be the first contestant." Trunks, "Eh? Goku-san, it's not necessary." Goku looks over at him. "Really? Alright, Vegeta." Vegeta, "Whatever you say. No matter how, I'm the one who beats him." Satan stares at them wide-eyed for a moment, then narrows his eyes and starts yelling at them. "You can't decide the order!" The reporter walks over to them. "Excuse me, you're also contestants of the Cell Game?" Goku, "Right, but not all of us." Reporter, "Oh..." Satan runs up and throws him out of the way. "Nonsense! It's not really a game, you don't know!" Kuririn, "You're the one who doesn't know." Satan is shocked by his comment, and almost screams at him, but controls his anger and chuckles. "I'm really surprised that someone can survive in the world not knowing that Mr. Satan is the Tenkaichi Budokai champion." The Z Senshi stare at him, awed by his ignorance. Reporter, "Mr. Satan is the champion of the Tenkaichi Budokai, the strongest man in the world!" He suddenly falls off the stage, and Kuririn turns away from him, as if disgusted. Satan, "Alright, let me show you." He jumps off the stage and lands in front of them. Goku, "Hmm?" Mr. Satan reaches out and grabs a small rock. He tugs on it, and it turns out to be a small boulder. He raises it above his head and tears it apart, growling. Reporter, "Oh my god! Mr. Satan is really fabulous! Unbelievable!" The Z Senshi are amazed, not at Satan's power, but at the fact that the world is impressed by that kind of power. Silence for a few moments. Reporter, "They're not amazed at all." Kuririn looks up. "Goku." Son Goku looks over at him. "Just let him be the first one." Goku, "Alright..."
Cell, "It's time." Son Goku grins; Vegeta is emotionless, as usual; Piccolo stares forward solemnly; Yamucha and Tenshinhan watch with determination; Trunks glares at Cell; determination occupies the faces of Kuririn and Son Gohan, as well. The reporter stares at the Z Senshi with confusion and anger, and Mr. Satan simply stares at them with an arrogant grin. Dende concentrates on the upcoming battle while Popo watches him nervously. Chichi watches the television, her hands clasped together, while Gyuu Mao works on repairing the hole in the floor in the background. Perfect Cell and Super Saiya-jin Son Goku stare at each other.
