Gohan, Get Mad · Release the Sleeping Power Within

Son Gohan and Cell stare at each other. The blowing wind is the only sound in the area. Gohan pulls his arm back slightly. Cell finally breaks the silence. "This battle grows increasingly more absurd, Son Gohan." Son Goku and Piccolo watch the fighters below them. Number 16's hair blows about in the wind as he stares down. Kuririn, "Go...Gohan!" The other Z Senshi watch in silence. Piccolo finally yells out, "Gohan!" Goku remains silent.

Chichi leaps to her feet; to call her nervous would be an understatement of titanic proportions. "Gohan-chan!! I could understand Goku-san! It's what he normally does." She begins to cry, and Gyuu Mao reaches over to console her. "I couldn't stop him, but I asked Gohan-chan not to train as much!" She suddenly sits up as she speaks, and Gyuu Mao recoils, not quite sure what his unpredictable daughter would do next. She begins to wail. "Gohan! Don't fight that hideous monster! Gohan! Gohan-chan!" Gyuu Mao, "Chichi! Just calm down!"

Satan's group watches the "delivery boy" versus Cell. Satan wears an expression of astonishment, the cameraman's face is hidden behind his camera, the reporter watches for the next round to begin, and the disciples converse. Pizza, "Is that kid really going to fight Cell?" Piroshiki, "Cell...the guy we couldn't defeat?"

Cell walks calmly up to Gohan and stops a few feet away, smiling. Gohan watches as he leaps back into the air and throws a ki blast from above. Gohan grunts as he jumps away. Cell follows him, and Gohan ends up against a rock wall. Cell throws another blast, and Gohan jumps away as the wall disappears in a large explosion. Cell throws another blast down at Gohan, and he flies back. Another; Gohan is barely able to dodge them. "Hey, kid!" Another one, straight at Gohan. Gohan dodges the blast. More ki blasts that he continues to dodge follow it. He stops flying away horizontally and shoots straight up.

Reporter, "We all thought that he was here to serve lunch, but he's really fighting! But he's no match for Cell! The kid can't do anything more than dodge." The people in the city gasp as they stare at the giant cloud of dust and smoke on-screen. Man, "We actually allowed him to take over?" Man 2, "No way! It's all screwed up!" The army readies its infantry, tanks, and fighter planes. The dog president watches on television. A military man approaches him and salutes. "Kakosh-sama, all forces are on ready status. We can now proceed." Kakosh, "All a waste." Man, "Huh?" Kakosh, "With a monster like Cell, the army would be helpless." He lowers his head, closing his eyes. Man, "But..." Kakosh looks back at his television. "That young man has saved the Earth repeatedly except for this one time." On screen, Gohan continues to dodge Cell's attacks. "He nominated this boy with his full trust in the youngster's abilities. I trust his decision to go with the boy. The Earth can only hope that it was the right choice."

Cell speeds toward Son Gohan, then suddenly disappears. He reappears behind Gohan. Gohan spins around to meet him and meets his fist instead. Cell follows up with a kick, then jumps over to Gohan's new position and over his head to get behind him. He springs forward again, and they both jump into the sky. Cell screams and throws a kick, but Gohan disappears. They land again. Cell smiles at Gohan, Gohan stares back at him. Kuririn, "Like this, Gohan will..." Trunks, "Gohan-san!" Goku remains calm, Piccolo remains quiet.

Cell rushes forward and hits Gohan, then kicks him back. Gohan flies back, and Cell flies over him and hits him again. The Z Senshi watch, worried for Gohan. Piccolo, "Gohan!" Cell holds out an arm to blast Gohan. "Son Gohan, if you seek someone to blame, blame your father, who sacrificed you to me." He screams and fires. A bright, white blast springs forth and strikes Gohan. Gohan is thrown back, screaming. He crashes straight through a rock hill. Cell stares behind him into the billowing cloud of dust. The Z Senshi watch in horror. Trunks, "Go...Gohan-san..." Kuririn, "How cruel..." Son Goku's smile remains.

Cell, "I overdid it." He closes his eyes, chuckling. "I didn't retain my composure." Chichi stares at her television in shock. She suddenly fates. Gyuu Mao, "Chichi, are you alright?!" Mr. Satan gapes in silence at the pile of rubble. Everyone is silent. The reporter speaks up after a few quiet moments. "A sudden turn of events! The delivery boy who bravely decided to face Cell has evidently died!" The crowd in the city murmurs. Man viewer, "He's dead?" Woman viewer, "Oh, poor thing."

Son Goku and Piccolo are silent. Yamucha and Tenshinhan watch the rubble in open-mouthed amazement. Vegeta stares on, unmoved. Piccolo clenches a fist. "Goku! This is all your fault! You were absolutely wrong! We all warned you! You killed Gohan, Goku! You did!" His scream echoes through the surrounding area. After a few seconds, Goku speaks up. "Relax, Piccolo. It seems Gohan's ki hasn't decreased." Piccolo gasps. Kuririn looks up to Goku, gasping as well. Trunks, "You're right!" Cell, "Well, Son Goku. The farce is done away with. Consume the senzu and let us continue." Goku, "Stupid, look behind you." Cell, "What." He turns around; a small stone rolls down the pile of rubble. Suddenly, a bright light explodes from within it, throwing the pile away in all directions. In the center is Super Saiya-jin Son Gohan; stones levitate around him. Trunks gasps. "Gohan-san!" Kuririn smiles. "You're alive! Gohan!" Cell gags in disbelief (it's not really a gag, but that's the best word I can come up with for it).

Sporting only minor injuries (or rather, injury... just a minor open wound on his forehead), Son Gohan steps forward. Cell watches him; Gohan walks up to Cell and stops a few feet in front of him. Gohan's aura dies away. "What a surprise. You're more durable than I thought." Gohan, "Let's just stop. This battle isn't worth anything." Cell, "Hmm?" He cocks his head, closes his eyes, and chuckles. His chuckle turns to a laugh. "Are you scared, little boy? You're saying that we should stop because my the Cell Game is meaningless?" Gohan nods, "Yeah." Cell, "It has value. For me, it serves as a warm-up. With your defeat, I will deal mankind its end somewhat slowly. No one can save the Earth. Certainly not you." Gohan, "I...I don't want to fight you. I don't want to kill you. Even someone like you." Kuririn, "What did Gohan say? He speaks so softly that I can barely hear him." Reporter, "Did you get it with the boom mike?" Cameraman, "What? No, not one thing." Gohan, "I don't like fighting. Not like my father." Cell, "I can understand not wanting to fight me. But don't you even have an urge to finish me off?" Gohan stares at him silently. "Even if you fought me a century from now, you would never win. I am correct, yes?" Gohan, "I'm starting to understand why Father thinks I'm the only one who can defeat you."

Cell, "What do you mean? You still believe that?" Gohan, "When I get mad, I change somehow. It's been happening to me since I was little."
A space pod races toward Earth. "The first time it happened was when the Saiya-jin, Raditsu, came to Earth from deep space." The pod races past a star.
Raditsu chuckles evily, standing on top of the disabled and defeated Son Goku. Goku can barely even scream in pain. Raditsu stares at him gleefully. "What a fool. I can't believe you were that easily tricked. You're not a soldier. I knew it." Goku groans in pain. "You're cunning..." Raditsu, "That and more. I'm a soldier, first class. I will kill without hesitation, even my brother." He grins. "Let me prove it to you." He applies more pressure, and Goku cries out in pain.
Gohan huddles inside the space pod. "Father..." Goku whimpers in pain, unable to do much more. Raditsu, "You, die! Die!" He stomps down on Goku's chest. Suddenly, the space pod begins to break apart. A scream erupts from the crater. Raditsu turns to look over toward the ship, only to find that it's exploded. Son Gohan flips up onto the battlefield. He glares angrily at Raditsu, crying. Raditsu stares at him in shock and scans him through the scouter. "Combat prowess..." He recoils. "Level 1000... 1307!" An aura begins to develop around Gohan. "Don't hurt my father!!" He suddenly rockets forward, screaming the whole way, smashing straight into Raditsu's chest; the armor is cracked. Both Raditsu and Goku are stunned.

"And then while training with Piccolo." Gohan wails. Piccolo raises a fist. "Stop your whining! If you don't shut up, I'll break your neck!" Gohan suddenly stops and stares up at him fearfully. "Well, you still haven't figured it out. You have vast hidden power. I'm here to train you to release that power and then use it effectively." Gohan, "You're lying. I don't have power." Piccolo grins. "Do I have to show you?" He grabs Gohan by the head. "What? What are you doing? Stop! That hurts! Ouch!" Piccolo hurls the screaming Gohan at a mountain. "Show me that sleeping power within!" Gohan suddenly stops his crying; he develops an aura, and glares at the mountain looming ahead of him. Piccolo watches, wide-eyed, as a ki shot flies out of Gohan's aura, completely obliterating the mountain. Piccolo cries out in surprise, having to shield himself from the dust and debris that flies back at him. He finally looks back up. "This..." Ahead of him, Gohan has cleared out a long path completely devoid of grass. Just a dirt crater/road. "It's greater than I had originally thought."

"Even when we fought Freezer on Planet Namek." Son Gohan watches helplessly as the recently-impaled Kuririn falls into the sea. Kuririn's hand slowly sinks below the surface. Gohan, blue in the face, screams. "KURIRIN-SAN!" He races toward his fallen ally. Freezer looks back at him. "Hmm?" He suddenly disappears and reappears in front of Gohan. Gohan stops abruptly, staring down at Freezer. Freezer chuckles. "Do you really want to save him? He's about to die. Why bother?" Gohan looks past Freezer go Kuririn, who is quickly sinking toward the bottom of the sea. He looks back to Freezer. "Rather than worry about him, why not worry about yourself first?" Freezer smiles up at him. Gohan clenches his fists. "Mo... MOVE!!" He begins pummeling with punches to the midsection, finishing with an uppercut to the lower jaw. Freezer grunts with each impact. (skip ahead a few seconds, Freezer lying on his back on the ground) Gohan screams and unleashes a volley of ki blasts. Vegeta watches in shock as Gohan's attack continues. Gohan screams with each ki blast that emerges from his hands. When he's finished with that, he lifts his hands over his head, forming another oddly-shaped ki blast. Vegeta is stunned. Gohan's teeth are clenched in rage. When he feels the blast is complete, he pulls it back behind himself and heaves it forward with a scream. The golden dome of light resulting from the barrage of ki blasts is hit with the new blast and expands outward slightly, then turns deep red. Son Gohan and Vegeta stare down at Freezer, or rather, at the blast engulfing Freezer. The entire area has a bright red light cast upon it.

A wind blows around them, throwing up a little dust. "When I get mad, an incredible amount of power floods through me beyond my countrol." Cell watches him quietly. "And it grew when I trained in the Room of Spirit and Time. Father knew about it. If it happens now, I might accidentally kill you." He examines a lightly-clenched fist. Cell lowers his head, chuckling. He throws his head back as, once again, his chuckle turns to a maniacal evil villain laugh. "An entertaining yarn..." He leans forward slightly. "...Yet a foolish endeavor." Gohan, "What?" Cell stands at his full height again. "You thought that tall tale of yours could frighten me?" Gohan is surprised by his reaction. "You're simply a child. But I'll accomodate and make you angry. I want to see this hidden power."

He punches Gohan in the side of the face; Gohan grunts and loses a few steps. Cell appears behind him and hits him again. "Here, here, here!" Gohan looks up at him and gets kicked in the face. Cell steps on his head, pinning Gohan to the ground. "Here!" Trunks, "Go...Gohan-san!" Kuririn, "Goku, stop him! If you go instead of him, Cell will let Gohan go!" Goku watches calmly, ignoring Kuririn's plea. Kuririn, "Goku!" Goku, "It's okay. Gohan will win." He looks back to the battle and speaks softly to himself. "Get mad, Gohan. Get mad."

Cell, "Get angry, boy, and show me this power of yours." Gohan groans under the pressure of Cell's foot. He reaches forward and claws at the dirt. Cell sighs, frustrated, then screams, removes his foot, reaches down, and grabs Gohan by the shirt. He holds up the injured Gohan. "Get mad!" He barrages Gohan with punches. "Get mad! Get mad! Get mad!!" He elbows Gohan with all of his body behind it to end the barrage. Gohan cries out in pain. He's thrown back into some rocks, and he slides through them. When he finally comes to a stop, he sits up and looks at Cell.

Reporter, "The delivery boy is being pummeled by Cell! Cell attacks!" He stands. "How will the boy get out of this pinch? What do you think, Mr. Satan?" He holds the microphone out to Satan. Satan wipes his forehead. "Hmm. It's impossible. He's just a delivery boy. Someone will have to help him out." Reporter, "Oh! Then Mr. Satan, you..." Satan is surprised by his answer and rubs his chin. The cameraman turns around, focusing on the reporter. Reporter, "Everyone! This might be the opportunity to see Mr. Satan make his return to the ring!" He throws his arms about enthusiastically as he speaks. Satan yells out in nervous surprise. He suddenly hunches over, clutching his stomach. "Oh! These stomach pains again, uh..." The disciples bolt to his side. Piroshiki, "Satan-sama!" Reporter, "It's too bad, but Mr. Satan is once again debilitated by indigestion." An explosion goes off behind them. The reporter screams as he's shaken off balance. Satan peers up over the rocks. "Huh?" The cameraman and reporter join him. Reporter, "Will the delivery boy die helplessly? Can't anyone help him?"

Cell rushes forward, and Gohan prepares for the hit. The hit comes, of course, and Gohan grunts. He's thrown back, and Cell chases him. "Get mad and show me your power!" He throws a punch, but Gohan leaps into the air and dodges it. Gohan's aura returns. He screams. Cell rushes forward, yelling, and Gohan smacks him right back down. Cell lands on his back. Kuririn with the commentary, "Cell's fallen on his back!" Trunks watches, surprised and happy, but quiet.

Gohan lands. Piccolo watches nervously, Vegeta angrily, Goku happily. Cell climbs to his feet, stopping halfway. Gohan prepares to continue the battle. They stare at each other in silence. Cell rises back to his full height again. He wipes the impact spot, then examines his thumb. He smiles. "Son Gohan, I shall make you mad somehow. Goku, "Go at it, Cell! That's it! Make Gohan mad! You'll soon find out what fear really is." He watches, still smiling. The other Z Senshi watch in silent anticipation of what will happen next. Son Gohan and Cell stare silently at each other as the entire world looks on.
