I'll Surpass You, Goku!! The Warrior Race Saiya-jin King

Outside Capsule Corporation, Yamucha trains as Puar watches. "Do your best, Yamucha." Yamucha looks up at Vegeta's gravity room. "I can't believe Vegeta started training at 300 gravities." He stops training and approaches the small room. He peers in through a window and watches Vegeta train, the gravity machine still set to 300. Several small machines fly around Vegeta, surrounding him. He attacks one, and they fire back at him as he dodges. He ends up on the ground, then dodges some hits and jumps back into the air. He narrowly avoids getting shot a few times, until finally he is shot, and he falls to the ground. He gets shot again and the bright light startles Yamucha, who jumps back from the window.

Inside the room, the smoke clears and Vegeta lies on the ground. He struggles to his feet and clenches a fist, staring at the machines. He begins to glow, then explodes with ki, destroying all of the machines. Later that night, Dr. Briefs stands over all of the destroyed machines, examining them. "This is pretty bad." Outside, Yamucha runs over to the gravity room. He runs inside and starts everything up. Yamucha approaches the gravity machine and finds it set at 1. He quickly fixes that, and sets the gravity all the way up to 300. He stays up for a bit, but eventually collapses under the intense gravity. He struggles toward the machine and finally reaches up, shutting off the gravity.

The next day, Bulma sits alone, reading a magazine. "Right at this moment, a new monster might be being born. When I think of that, I can't relax." Her mother runs in. "Bulma, Bulma, I found a new cake shop." She drops a tray full of food in front of Bulma. Bulma just stares at it, and her mother laughs. "Don't you think they're pretty?" Bulma, "Don't they look delicious. Mother, I'm envious of freedom from worry." Mother, "Yamucha and Vegeta are caught up in their training so they don't come around anymore. Why don't you invite them over?" Bulma, "Get serious, don't make me laugh." Dr. Briefs walks in, yawning and stretching his arms. "That Vegeta is trying to do the impossible. Just training in 300 gravities should be impossible. But he keeps ordering new training tools, one after another. And then right after he gets them, he destroys them." Bulma, "He's a freak with a fighting mania." Her mother, "But Vegeta's so cute." Dr. Briefs, "I thought you said you liked Goku. Have you switched to Vegeta now?" Mother, "Goku's handsome, too, but I love the way that it feels like Vegeta's under a shadow. And also, I love his wide forehead." She sips some coffee. "I know, I'll ask them out on a double date." Bulma and Dr. Briefs stare, almost as if in awe at her...well, stupidity.

The machines shoot at Vegeta, but he dodges each shot. One finally hits and he falls to the ground. Another one fires, but he pushes back the shot and the ensuing explosion destroys the gravity room. Bulma and her mother are surprised, and drop what they're holding. Yamucha and Bulma run up to the wreckage. Yamucha, "We should have expected this. He was doing some dangerous training." Bulma, "Vegeta! He can't be dead..." She starts digging through the debris and a hand shoots up at her. She screams and jumps back, knocking down Yamucha. Vegeta climbs out from under the rubble and Bulma asks if he's still alive. "Isn't it obvious?" He stands up completely and Bulma sighs. She regains herself and gets angry. "What were you thinking? You almost destroyed my house!" Vegeta collapses again, and Bulma stops her little rant. "Vegeta!" She runs up to him and picks him up. "Don't do anything foolish. You're getting in the way of my training." Bulma, "How is this training? You can't train like this." Vegeta, "These wounds are nothing. I'm the best Saiya-jin in the universe! I've got to be better than Kakkarotto!" Bulma, "I don't care if he's a carrot or a vegetable or whatever, you just do what I say." Yamucha watches, suddenly starting to realize the obvious. Vegeta, "Are you trying to order me around?" He starts to stand up again, but falls once more. "Vegeta!"

At Paozuyama, figures dart around in the sky. Piccolo throws a ki blast, and Gohan performs Masenkou, both directed at Son Goku. He vanishes, and Piccolo and Gohan look around. Piccolo suddenly throws a punch at what seems to be empty air, but Goku appears right beside him, arm outstreched. They both stay like that for a moment and chuckle. They vanish, then reappear, fighting. Vanish, reappear, vanish reappear. Gohan watches everything from a few feet away. "Right there!" Gohan suddenly springs forward, screaming. He appears right between them, which surprises Piccolo and Goku. He goes after Goku, who's still a bit startled, and can only manage to dodge. Piccolo grins as he watches the fight. Goku catches his son's fist. "What's the matter, Gohan? You're moving too slow." He knees Gohan and Gohan flies toward the ground below. He catches himself and flies forward, toward Son Goku and Piccolo.

Vegeta recovers in a bed at Capsule Corporation, with Bulma, Dr. Briefs, and Bulma's mom standing around him. Dr. Briefs, "After that big explosion, it's impressive that he got away with that few wounds. Those Saiya-jin are impressive." Mother, "Poor Vegeta..." The two of them leave, but Bulma stays for a few moments longer. She turns to leave, but she stops when Vegeta utters a word. "Kakkarotto." She turns back to him, and he goes on. "I'll surpass you. I'll surpass you, I will."
Vegeta has a dream in which he's running through darkness, toward a light. Suddenly, he's running under an endless line of gray clouds. Then, through a tunnel of glowing black wires. Then, another tunnel of white with black lines. At the end of everything, Son Goku stands, smiling at him. "Kakkarotto!" He lunges forward, but Goku vanishes. Behind him stands Mirai Trunks. "You... you are..." He lunges forward again, but Trunks disappears. The two of them suddenly reappear right in front of him, and he falls back. They turn Super Saiya-jin, and Vegeta shields his eyes from the blinding light. He powers up, but can't reach Super Saiya-jin. The two Super Saiya-jin smile at him. They increase their ki, and the power up alone throws him back. "Why?" They move further and further away from him, until they're gone completely. "Why... why can't I reach them? WHY?!" Vegeta lies floating in darkness. "Why?" A voice speaks to him. "You are the best of the Saiya-jin. You will become their king." He sees an image of himself and his father. They stand together at a large window, watching hundreds of ships blast off into space. King Vegeta, "As soon as we Saiya-jin are born, our fighting strength is tested. Low power Saiya-jin are sent to planets without very good opponents." Vegeta, "Hmph. What garbage." King Vegeta turns to his son. "Prince, you wer born, your fighting strength was placed in the super elite. I know that you will become the best Saiya-jin in the universe. There's even a chance you could become the Legendary Super Saiya-jin." Vegeta thinks to himself, "That's right. I'm super elite. There's no way I could be worse than a low-class Saiya-jin like Kakkarotto. I'm the best Saiya-jin in the universe!" He wakes up and turns to see Bulma, asleep by his bed.

Vegeta does one-handed pushups in a new gravity room, now set at 400G. He flips up onto just one arm, rather than one arm and both legs. He starts doing more one armed pushups that way. Yamucha watches in the window, then turns to Puar. "Puar, we're going on a training expedition." Puar agrees. Inside, Vegeta continues training, spinning around in the air. Bulma comes up on the viewscreen. "Hey! Vegeta! Why are you training as hurt as you are?" He ignores her. "If you do that, you'll never heal properly." Vegeta doesn't talk to her, but rather to himself. "Noisy wench. What a low-class woman." He suddenly falls to the floor. "See, look at what you did. Don't you ever learn from your mistakes?" He doesn't respond, but just looks away. "See, you can't say anything. I thought so, I'm always right." He looks up. "Do you want to die in three years?" She suddenly stops. "I want to live! I'm still a young and beautiful girl." Vegeta, "Then shut up!"
