The Might of Vegeta!! The Blood of a Super Saiya-jin Awakens

Goku hovers above the ground, clutching his chest, breathing heavily, barely able to hold his head up. All eyes are on Son Goku. He falls to the ground and drops to one knee. Piccolo watches, his eyes suddenly wide with realization when he remembers what Trunks had said.

Goku talks to Trunks. "Hey, wait a minute! What happened to me? Was I killed, too?" Trunks, "You'll get sick very soon. You'll die from that disease." Goku... surprise... you know the drill. "It's a viral heart disease. Even though you're a great Super Saiya-jin, you weren't able to defeat the disease." Goku, "That's too bad. Didn't the senzu work? Damn..." Trunks produces a vial and hands it to Son. "As soon as the symptoms appear, take this medicine." Goku, "What's that?" Trunks, "There's no cure for the disease now, but in twenty years, there will be a cure. This way, you won't have to die."

Piccolo watches the battle silently. Kuririn, "Don't be stupid, Gohan. He's already taken the medicine and recovered, hasn't he? It's just that Goku's energy has been taken." Goku continues to grab at his chest, struggling even to breathe now. "This hurts. What's happened to my body?" Goku gets back to his feet as 19 lands several feet away. Kuririn jumps into the air. "Goku! Here's a senzu! Take it!" Goku thanks Kuririn and eats the bean. "That helped a lot." Number 20, "Those are the senzu that can restore energy and heal even heavy damage." He looks at Yamucha. "It looks like the story was true. They apparently brought Yamucha back from the edge of death."

Artificial Human 19 shoots eyebeams at Goku, who jumps into the air. Number 19 materializes right in front of him and punches him with the right arm, then the left, then smashes Goku over his knee. Goku falls and 19 goes to speed up the process a bit. Goku hits the ground and slides many more feet further back. Kuririn, "The senzu didn't work!" Gohan, "It really is the heart disease." Kuririn, "Why? Didn't he take the medicine and get healed?" Gohan, "He never got ill! He's always been healthy, so he never took the medicine."

Number 19 flies in and kicks him in the side of the head as Son tries to stand up. He gets under him and punches him in the back, throwing Goku into the sky. He gets in front of Goku and sends him straight back down, then comes up behind him and hits him again with a headbutt to the back. Goku flies back, not even falling to the ground but just flying above it. Nineteen is ready for him when he gets there and kicks him again. Goku finally falls to the ground and skids to a stop. Number 19 lands at his feet. Son Goku fades out of Super Saiya-jin. Gohan, "Father!" Yamucha, "Hey, he stopped being a Super Saiya-jin..." Ten, "Oh no..."

Artificial Human 19 rockets forward and lands right on top of Son Goku. Goku struggles futily, screaming. Number 19 looks down at him with hate-filled eyes. He opens his hand, revealing the red ball in his palm. He wraps his hand around Goku's neck and begins sucking out Son's ki energy. Goku screams and wraps his hands around the jinzouningen's arm. The Artificial Human looks over his shoulder and smiles at the Z Senshi. Piccolo, "He's taking Goku's energy!" The Z Senshi all fly over to help Goku, but 20 jumps in front of them. "You cannot proceed an inch past here. Do you want to test me?" Piccolo smiles. "I will." He gets ready to attack and gets an eye beam through the chest. Gohan, "Piccolo-san!" Piccolo falls to the ground and Gohan jumps down to his side. Kuririn, "He's fast." Number 20, "You can't call what Piccolo just did bravery. I can only call him a reckless fool!"

Son Goku's ki is visibly flowing through 19. Tenshinhan, "If this keeps up, Son will die." Number 20 laughs at them. Artificial Human 19 continues sucking out Goku's ki, who continues to struggle vainly. Goku's grip begins to loosen and he stops fighting. Artificial Human 19 does the little evil laugh that all villains who are winning have to do. A powerful kick to the side of the head suddenly knocks Artificial Human 19 off of Son Goku. Everyone turns over to the battle, surprised. Vegeta stands over the near-dead Son Goku. "It is my role to defeat Kakkarotto. This is not an act you trash puppets should do." Kuririn, "Vegeta!" Gohan, "Vegeta-san..." Piccolo's eyes suddenly open wide. "Did you say Vegeta?" He sits up and looks over at Vegeta. Gohan, "Piccolo-san?" Piccolo stands up and 20 glares down at him. "I tried to get them off guard and save Goku, so I fought badly. Vegeta, you're getting in my way." Gohan, "Piccolo-san..." Piccolo, "No matter how strong they might be, that kind of attack wouldn't hurt me."

Vegeta, "I saw everything. You idiot. You knew your body was damaged and you still turned into a Super Saiya-jin. Doing that will just make your heart disease worse. My target is just you, Kakkarotto." He kicks Son Goku over to Piccolo, who catches him in his left hand. Piccolo drops him. Gohan, "Father, wake up!" Kuririn, Yamucha, and Tenshinhan land around Goku. Yamucha, "Goku!" Ten, "Son, are you alright?" Kuririn, "Hey, Goku, are you okay?" Vegeta, "Someone drag him back to his house and give him his medicine." Gohan, "Father..." He lifts Goku over his shoulder. "I'll take him back home." Yamucha, "No, I'll take him. I'm sorry, but it looks like I'm the most worthless one here." Yamucha lifts Goku up. Piccolo, "He said it was a viral disease. It might be contagious, so you should take some of the medicine, too." Gohan, "Thank you, Yamucha-san." Yamucha looks back at him and smiles. Piccolo, "Hurry up!" Yamucha, "Do your best, guys." They all nod. As Yamucha flies off, Kuririn yells at Goku to get better. Artificial Human 20, "Number 19, you don't have to chase them!" He lands. "We should save the best for last. First, let's take care of these noisy flies. If Vegeta joins them, this might be interesting."

Yajirobe sits and plays with Chibi Trunks. He yells nonsense and such to the child, who smiles and laughs. Bulma, "You're a lot more domestic than I would have though." He looks at her. "I'm sure you'd make a great father." He ignores the remark and goes back to playing with Trunks. Yajirobe lifts Trunks up into the air and sticks his tongue out at him. Trunks responds by... ah... relieving himself... on Yajirobe's face. Yajirobe suddenly stops and stares at Trunks, and the baby starts crying and wailing. Bulma, "Oh, he peed again." She runs over to him and takes him from Yajirobe. "Okay, good kid. Oh no, I forgot to bring something to dry him with." She sets him on the ground. "What can I possibly use?" She looks around and finally sees Yajirobe wiping his face off. She looks up at him and he stops. He hands her his... thing (it's a bit big to call a handkerchief, but it's not exactly a towel or anything either) and she dries Trunks. "Thanks Yajirobe, I knew I could count on you." Yaji, "Do what you want." Bulma, "Okay, let's go." Yajirobe, "Where?" Bulma, "Isn't it obvious?" She walks over to the aircar. "I can't come all this way without even seeing the scary Artificial Humans." Yajirobe, "I'm not going!" Bulma, "How can you let a weak woman and a helpless baby go into danger by themselves? He couldn't possibly do that, could he, Trunks?" She climbs into the aircar and shuts the door. "Get in already." Yajirobe climbs in. "We're only going to look. As soon as that's done, you're going home, okay?" Bulma, "Okay, but get inside and let's go." Yajirobe sits down and the aircar lifts off. Bulma, "Launch!" The car speeds off in the direction of the battle.

Artificial Human 20 watches the Z Senshi, and they get ready to fight him. Vegeta stands with his arms crossed, staring at the Artificial Humans. Kuririn, "Maybe we should retreat for a while." Ten, "What?" Kuririn, "That guy from the future said so. Goku was killed by the disease. And the rest of us, including Vegeta, were killed by the Artificial Humans. The conditions were different, but now they're the same." Gohan, "But if we run away, they'll destroy the whole world like they did with that city." Kuririn, "That's why we have to wait for Goku to get better." Piccolo, "It's not certain that we'll be destroyed like he said. There was a big change in when Goku got ill. Probably because that guy came, history has changed slightly." Kuririn ponders what Piccolo said. "History has changed? But there's no change in their fearsomeness." Number 19 stands straight, feet together. "Number 20. Please allow me to destroy Vegeta." Number 20, "You jerk. You already took lots of Son Goku's power and raised your own power level a lot." Number 19 stands silent. "Well, okay. But in return, I get to take the power from the remaining four." Number 19 grins and agrees. He turns to Vegeta.

Vegeta stands, watching him, almost as if he doesn't even care. Number 19 opens his hand and shows Vegeta the little red ball. Vegeta, "From what little I've seen of your movements, I know..." He uncrosses his arms. "...you're not as strong as I've heard. You absorb energy from the palms of your hands. That's the only thing I have to be careful about." Number 19 closes his hand and drops it to his side. Number 19, "It appears you've been watching us for a while, but you forgot something important. We've already analyzed your fighting techniques." He hits his earring with the tip of his thumb. Vegeta, "You looked surprised when Kakkarotto went Super Saiya-jin, though. That means you don't have any data from between when we fought Freezer and now. You can't understand us Saiya-jin through mere calculations. There's something I want to know. Can you Artificial Humans feel fear, too?" He raises his fists to about the same height as his chest. A closeup of Vegeta's right temple. Then his right fist. He begins screaming. A closeup of his mouth, teeth clenched. His hair from the right side. It begins to change color and turn gold. It fades back to black, then gold again. His right eye. The eyebrow turns gold, the pupil changes from black to turquoise. Both turn black again, then change colors to gold and turquoise. At Vegeta's feet, small rocks and pebbles begin to levitate. Small rocks and pebbles turn to large chunks of the ground. Kuririn, Piccolo, and Gohan watch in amazement. The clouds move quickly across the sky. The Artificial Humans watch, mouths agape, eyes wide. Number 20, "Him too?!" Vegeta screams. A golden aura engulfs him. His hair and eyebrows turn gold and stay that way, his pupils go turquoise and don't change back. The ground around him gets pushed back in a ring around him. Artificial Human 19 is thrown back just by the force of the power up. Kuririn and Gohan shield their eyes from the blinding light. Vegeta's final transformation into Super Saiya-jin is shown from several angles. Gohan, "Vegeta-san changed into a Super Saiya-jin!" The Z Senshi watch, amazed at his power, surprised at his ability, and frightened by the implications. They can't exactly trust Vegeta, and with Goku out, they've got no one to match him. The white light finally fades away and the wind calms. Vegeta stands, fist clenched, a full-fledged Super Saiya-jin.

Kuririn, "That's impossible! How can he change into a Super Saiya-jin? You can't change into a Super Saiya-jin without a quiet heart!" Vegeta walks toward Artificial Human 19. "My heart is quiet. My heart is calm and pure, but make no mistake. It's pure evil. The only thing I want is to become strong." Number 19 stands up. "Therefore, I continued my hard training."

Inside the training capsule at 400Gs, Vegeta battles the little robot orb things. He dodges several attacks, but finally gets hit. He cries out in pain and falls to the floor. He throws up a ki blast, but it's stopped by the gravity. He pushes harder and it finally goes, destroying the orbs.
He runs around inside the capsule, dancing around the walls, flying through the air, kicking and punching at nothing. He stops, his breathing heavy and labored. He falls to his knees. He jumps back up.
Lighting tears through the sky. The space capsule sits in a shallow crevasse. Vegeta, a lone soul on this lonely planet. The ground is cracked and lightning and thunder crackle and rumble in the sky. A meteor shower rains down on the planet. Vegeta dodges each rock and begins hitting them with ki blasts. Vegeta throws another huge ki blast up toward another asteroid (or maybe it's a moon?). The large explosion showers rocks on the planet and Vegeta's thrown out of the sky. Vegeta climbs up out of his little hole. "Damn..."

"After that, I realized my limits."

"I can't defeat Kakkarotto like this..." He smashes his fist on the ground and crushes a rock in his hand, drawing blood. "When I got angry at myself, my ability awoke. My ability to become a Super Saiya-jin!" Vegeta screams and suddenly, his hair turns gold and a golden aura erupts around him. The flash of light expands out into space and the screen turns completely gold with Vegeta's aura.

He holds a fist up to about shoulder height and examines it. "I rejoiced. At last, my time to surpass Kakkarotto and retake my position as Prince of the Saiya-jin had come!" He opens his fist. Number 20, "That's enough talk. Even though you changed, you still can't stand against us Artificial Humans. You'll end up just like Son Goku." Number 19 shoots eyebeams at Vegeta. Oh, there's quite an explosion, sure, but Vegeta's not hurt. The Artificial Human jumps into the air above Vegeta and gives eyebeams another go. As the smoke clears and the dust settles, 19 lands nearby. All eyes are on the cloud of dust. Vegeta stands inside, untouched. Number 19 begins laughing at him. He lunges at Vegeta, arms outstretched, hands in a fist.
