Discovery of an Evil Egg! Trunks' Terror

Trunks stares at the photograph. "What could have happened? Do you know exactly where this picture was taken?" Kuririn turns to the phone and repeats Trunks' question for Bulma. "I'm not exactly sure, but it should be somewhere around 1050 in the western sector. Are you going there?" Trunks, "Yes, I want to see it with my own eyes." Bulma, "I'll go, too." Kuririn and Trunks suffer momentary surprise...as always. "It's not so far from here." Trunks, "Ok...okay..." Bulma, "Okay, see you later." Yamucha, "Are you sure there is only one time machine?" Trunks, "Yes, I'm sure of it." Son Gohan steps forward. "Well..." Trunks turns around. "I'll help you look. Can I go?" Chichi, "Gohan-chan..." Gohan, "I'll be okay, mother. I'm not going anywhere dangerous, so you don't have to worry." Chichi, "That's not what I was talking about!" She picks up a giant pile of books. "You haven't finished your studies!" Everyone (aside from Son Goku) goes through the anime fall routine. Gohan, "I'll make it up after I get back." Trunks opens up the door/domed window on the side of the capsule plane. He stares down at the ground below, then looks back to Gohan, who nods in reply. They jump out of the plane and fly off to the area Bulma specified.

Bulma's mother waters some plants. "Here's some water for you." She looks over at a bird cage and plays her finger around the cage. Bulma walks in. "Momma, I'm leaving. Take care of Trunks for me." Mother, "Bulma-chan, where are you going?" Bulma, "I'm off to meet the big Trunks." She winks and walks out, leaving her mother to wonder. Her capsule plane takes off and she races off to meet Mirai Trunks and Son Gohan.

"Have things really gotten that bad in your future because of those Artificial Humans?" Trunks looks over at Gohan. "Yes. The world population has dropped to only several thousand people. The Western Capitol's been mostly destroyed. We've managed to hide safely underground." Gohan, "Really...? I hope we can find the Artificial Humans' weakness." Trunks nods. "Yes... Remember when the Artificial Humans rebelled against Dr. Gero?" He flashes back to the swiping of the controller. Dr. Gero, "Number 17! What are you doing?!" Number 17, "You don't need this." He smashes the controller. Trunks, "They only attacked him after he couldn't use that device." Vegeta blasts the door open. Dr. Gero, "Haven't I told you enough? You can't do that!!" Number 17 once again kills Dr. Gero while the Z Senshi watch. Trunks, "But in the end, they killed him. But I think Dr. Gero realized how dangerous the Artificial Humans were when he tested them. I think he had some kind of emergency shut off switch or something. Otherwise, I don't think he would have reactivated them." Gohan, "That's right! It's got to be true!" Trunks, "It's a slim hope." Trunks checks his watch/locator thing/whatever. "This should be the 1050 western sector." Gohan, "Let's start looking." They veer off to their right and down toward the ground.

The animals seem lively, but cautious as Trunks and Gohan fly around nearby, searching for the time machine. Gohan searches from high above the ground, while Trunks weaves his way through the trees just a few feet above the ground. Gohan descends and searches from a lower level. He goes back up and finally sees it sitting several hundred feet away. He gasps and smiles. "I found it! I found it!! Trunks, I found it!" Trunks hears him and stops, then flies over to where Gohan is waiting. They land in front of the time machine. "Thanks for finding it, Gohan-san." Just then, Bulma flies over nearby. Gohan, "That's got to be Bulma-san. I'll lead her here." He flies over to the capsule plane.

Trunks walks up to the old time machine and examines it. It's turned green with all the moss covering it, and anywhere lacking moss is abundant in rust. The dome at the top is cracked all over, and a gaping hole pierces one side. As Trunks waits for his mother and Son Gohan to return, he feeds some squirrels. Finally, he hears an engine. Bulma, "Hi, Trunks!" Gohan lands, followed shortly thereafter by Bulma. Bulma, "It's your beautiful mom!" She jumps out of the capsule plane. Trunks, "Thanks." She walks over to him. "Tell me what you think of meeting your young mother." Trunks, "You're not really that different..." Bulma, "I'm going to keep my beauty for decades! How lucky for me!" She laughs. Gohan and Trunks just stare at her with strange expressions. Trunks, "Ah, please look at this." She suddenly stops laughing and looks at him. He pulls out a capsule and throws it nearby. His time machine pops out, looking shiny and new, sunlight glinting off. "This is the time machine that I kept as a capsule." Bulma, "I guess this old one can't be yours, then." Trunks, "No, in the future, you only made one time machine. This is also the time machine I rode." Bulma, "Impossible." Trunks, "Please look at this." He brushes away some moss, revealing a large numeral 1, and scrawled above that, the word "Hope!!" Bulma, "Hope..." Trunks, "That's right. I wrote it on the machine when I first came back to the past. Of course it's on that time machine, too." The view changes to the word "Hope!!" on the nicer, more functional time machine. Bulma, "So what can that mean? It looks like this time machine has been here for a long time." Trunks and Gohan fly up above the time machine and Gohan looks inside. "Eh? This hole is odd... It looks like it was melted. But it was made from the inside." Trunks stares inside in silence. Bulma looks up at them with her arms crossed. "What is it? What rode back in that?" Trunks, "In any case, let's open it. Excuse me." Gohan moves out of the way and Trunks reaches down to hit the button on the side of the time machine. The dome opens up and Trunks jumps inside, only to find something very peculiar resting on the seat. He picks up a pink half-sphere with strange protrusions all over its exterior. On the floor, he finds the other. "There's another one." Trunks tries to think of what this could be from.

Trunks picks up the second object and holds one in each hand. Gohan, "What is that? It's not a coconut." Bulma, "What? Let me see." She holds her hands up toward Trunks. Gohan brings the two halves back down to Bulma. She examines them, presses them together, pulls them apart, looks around at the inside. "It's got to be some kind of egg. I'm sure of it." Gohan, "It's an egg?" Trunks watches quietly. Gohan, "What kind of an egg? I've never seen an egg like that." They all look back up at the hole in the dome. Gohan, "Maybe whatever came out of that egg burned that hole." Trunks sits down and hits some buttons. "The energy cells are almost empty. It came back from... Age 788. It's from three years after the time I left for the past!" Bulma gasps. "And it came back to the past four years ago." The Trunks/Freezer fight is shown. "It came back a year earlier than when I first came. What is it?! Why did it come here? Is this the reason why history has changed so much?!"

The capsule plane sits outside Kame House. Kuririn, "So that's what's going on." Muten Roshi, "So that's happening? Hmm." Kuririn, "I only hope Goku can get better before they find us here." Roshi, "We can only pray that comes true." Goku sleeps upstairs with Umigame and Chichi by his side. Oolong, "Wait a minute! If they're looking for Goku, won't they come here next after they find Goku's house?" Yamucha, "Yeah, probably." Oolong, "That makes this the most dangerous place on Earth!" He dances around as he yells at them. "Sorry, but I don't like danger!" Muten Roshi, "Hey, I'm here. They won't be able to defeat me that easily, will they Kuririn?" Kuririn, "Huh?" Oolong, "I don't think I can trust..." Roshi, "What are you saying?! I'm the invincible God of Martial Arts! I even won at the Tenkaichi Budokai!" Oolong, "That was a long time ago! Now, you're nothing but a dirty old man! Can you beat the Artificial Humans with your perversion?!" Kuririn chuckles nervously.

Number 18 sits backwards, leaning forward on the back of the seat. "Hey Number 16, you're too quiet. Isn't it boring just sitting there like that? Go ahead and say something. After all, we're taking our time to enjoy ourselves!" Number 17, "Give it up. The only thing he thinks about is defeating Son Goku. Besides, I think I can see a city. Didn't you want some new clothes?" Number 18, "That's right! I can finally get out of these ugly things! Can't you go any faster?!"

"I really am a genius! I was able to make a time machine in the future!" She nods gleefully. Trunks, "We can't just leave time machines laying around out here. Let's change it back into a capsule." He brushes aside some moss and hits the button. Dust and dirt fill the air and the word "BUN" appears in giant letters. Gohan walks over to the working time machine. "I'm going to change this into a capsule, too." Trunks puts the ruined time machine into his little box and tells Gohan, "Go ahead." Gohan hits the button and retrieves the capsule. Bulma, "I'll take this odd egg shell." Trunks, "Okay." Gohan walks up to Bulma. "Bulma-san, we're all gathered at Muten Roshi's house." Bulma, "Everyone's at Kame House? Why?" Gohan, "To put it simply, the three Artificial Humans are on the loose. They're searching for my father to kill him. But father's sick, so we couldn't leave him there. So we're hiding at Kame House." Bulma, "Why don't you gang up and beat them up?" Trunks, "That's not funny. When Father and I, Piccolo-san, and even Tenshinhan-san attacked them all at once, we weren't even able to touch them." Bulma, "Wow... They're that strong? How's Vegeta? Is he at Kame House, too?" Trunks, "He was saved by a senzu bean. But father won't act with the rest of us. He went off somewhere by himself." Bulma, "That's like him." Gohan starts walking away, completely focused on something. Bulma turns to him. "What?" Gohan doesn't look at her to respond, "I was just wondering what that is..." Bulma, "What? Where?" Gohan keeps walking and chances upon a giant animal something. "Please come and look at this!" Bulma, "What is it? What's happened?" Trunks runs over and Bulma drops the egg shell as she follows. Trunks, "What is it, Gohan-san?" Gohan points at the strange animal. "Look at that." They both gasp at the still animal. Bulma, "What's that?!" Gohan examines it on one side, Trunks and Bulma on the other. Trunks, "It's huge... What is it?" Bulma, "Is it dead?" Gohan touches it. "It's not dead. It's a shed skin." Bulma, "'A shed skin'? Are the bugs around here this big?" Gohan, "There are no bugs like this. This must be..." Trunks nods. "It's probably what was in that time machine." Gohan, "Yeah, it left its skin after it got bigger." Bulma, "What's going on? What came out of this?" Gohan, "I don't know. I've never seen anything like this before." Trunks, "How did it get here? Who used the time machine to send it back here?! Or did something come back with the egg? I don't know a thing that's going on here!" He reaches inside the shell and then extracts his slime-covered hand. "It's only just erupted from this shell." They all suddenly start looking around in case the former inhabitant of the shell is still lurking nearby. Bulma suddenly loses it and starts screaming and running. Her hat flies off as she runs, but she makes no attempt to retrieve it. Gohan and Trunks suddenly notice a cave a few yards away. They're on their guard as they stare into it, but only some small, apparently common animals are inside. Gohan and Trunks sigh.

Bulma climbs back into her plane. "Tell me the truth. Do you have a bad feeling about this, too?" Trunks, "Yes." She closes the dome over her head as she tells him, "Then you'd better leave here soon. You're going to be at Kame House. If I find out anything, I'll call you." Gohan, "Okay." Bulma, "Oh, Trunks. If you have the time, I want you to come over. Your grandmother and grandfather would love to see you!" She flies back to Capsule Corporation, and Trunks and Gohan head for Kame House. Trunks, "What in the world is going on? I don't understand. Not at all."

Kamisama and Piccolo face away from each other. Piccolo, "Are you still peeping at the lower world? I wouldn't call that a good hobby. You'll lose that ability after you rejoin with me. Enjoy it while you can." Kamisama, "The premonition I've had for the last four years hasn't been caused by the Artificial Humans. Not even I understand. What came back in that time machine?" Piccolo turns to him. "What?" Kami, "The only thing that I understand is that some lifeform much more terrifying than the Artificial Humans is loose somewhere on the Earth." Piccolo stands up. "What the hell are you muttering about?!" He walks over to God. "Tell me about it!" Kami, "The time has certainly come for me to give up my role as God so that Piccolo can be reborn as a great warrior." He spins around and Piccolo jumps back. "Soon... Soon, something terrible will happen to the Earth. This isn't a normal disaster. I have the feeling that everything is in danger of being destroyed." Piccolo and Mr. Popo stare at Kamisama in silence.

Bulma flies home. The Artificial Humans make a stop, and Number 18 jumps out of the car. Son Goku remains unconscious, Chichi watching over him...
