Goku Awakes to Battle!! Transcend the Super Saiya-jin!!

Everything is completely still in a small town, save for a light breeze that blows through open windows. Behind the swaying curtains, some music is playing and a whole meal sits uneaten on a table. Some empty clothing sits in a chair at the table. In another chair at that table opposite the first chair is another empty set of clothing. On a TV, an exercise program plays. The viewer is gone, leaving only clothing behind. The scene is the same all over the city, in restaurants, on sidewalks, and in the middle of the street. Someone speaks to nothing over a phone, hanging by its wire. A car sits still in the street, recently wrecked, smoke rising from the engine. A set of clothing was the apparent driver.

Gunshots and screams ring out at the Basil Airport. A man with a machine gun unloads hundreds of bullets, and would probably keep going if not for the fact that he no longer sees a target. Everyone else in the building has fled. The TV beside him updates him on the situation. "We bring you a special report from our correspondent." The view on the screen changes to a field reporter in an empty city. "Following the Gingertown incident, everyone in Nickytown has now disappeared. We can only think of him as being the prime suspect. The devilish monster has already destroyed West City's army and turned the place into a ghost town." Suddenly, the ceiling in front of the man collapses and Cell drops down in front of him. He screams and pulls the trigger, showering the monster with bullets. Cell is not damaged in the least, and in fact continues to walk toward the screaming, shooting man. The TV is drowned out until the man finally stops screaming and firing. "...how long will this reign of terror last?" The man frantically pulls at his trigger, but to no avail. He's run out of bullets. Cell towers over the man. "Where is he and what is he doing now?" The man tries to run out, but slips on an empty shell. "We're looking for him, but still haven't found him yet." Cell steps on the man's chest, pinning him to the floor. His tail springs forth, piercing the man's flesh. "That's it from the scene of his last heinous crime." The screen switches back to the NNS anchor man. "That was a live news report from Nickytown. There is still a state of confusion going on at that town. Everyone, please be careful." Cell sticks his foot through the screen, shattering the glass and pushing the television off its stand. "Be careful? That's a good one." He raises his tail and the man's shirt slides off.

Just a few feet from Cell, a woman and child hide under a desk. The woman has her eyes shut, hugging the child closely to her and covering the child's mouth. Cell almost doesn't notice them. Almost. His head suddenly jerks up a little and he turns around, smiling. He walks over to the desk, stopping on the closed side of it.

Piccolo, "Do you feel him?" Tenshinhan, "No, I did before, but..." Piccolo, "Damn it! We can't let him become a Perfect being." The two of them fly onward, searching for Cell's most recent victims.

In the Number 3 hangar at the Basil Airport, a scream rings out. The woman and child from a few seconds ago run, trying to get away. Cell pursues, but because he can't let his ki get too high, he's merely walking quickly. He doesn't even run. The child trips. "Sister!" The older girl runs back and grabs the child. She picks her up and flees. She reaches the end and runs out the door. She continues out, turning to see that Cell has also reached the door. It's not wide enough for him, but that apparently presents no problem. The woman continues running. She suddenly trips. She falls, holding her sister with her. Cell runs at them, a smile on his face. He jumps into the air and prepares to drop down with his tail, but they disappear. He looks into the air and finds that they were rescued by Kuririn. "So, Kuririn. You've finally found me." Kuririn lands. "Don't you dare look down at me." He thinks to himself, "I was just trying to get to Kame House using a short cut and look what I bumped into." The woman thanks him. Kuririn, "No, it's okay. Hurry up and run away." Woman, "Okay." Child, "Thank you!" They run off and Kuririn smiles as he watches them go. Cell, "How wonderful for me. Yours will be the first energy I will be taking." Kuririn turns to Cell and gets ready to fight him.

The woman jumps up onto the wing of a plane, then turns back for her sister. "Hurry and climb up." Cell flies at Kuririn, but he dodges the attack. Cell swings his tail out, but once again, Kuririn dodges it. Cell keeps at it, but Kuririn always manages to jump out of the way. The propellors on the plane start. "Let's go!" Kuririn, "It's sad, but I can't beat him. Well then..." Cell flies at Kuririn. Kuririn spreads his fingers across his face on either side of his head. "Taiyo-ken!" Cell is momentarily blinded while the airplane takes off with Kuririn hanging onto the bottom. The child watches from the window. "Yes!" Kuririn smiles. He suddenly gets serious again when he realizes he can't see Cell. "Where? Where is he?!" Cell's tail crashes through the roof of the plane. The woman and child spin around. Kuririn jumps off the side of the plane, speeds off, then turns around and throws himself straight at Cell. The monster notices too late. Cell screams and almost falls off the plane, but catches himself at the edge of the right wing. His tail jumps out again, and Kuririn barely manages to dodge it. Cell punches Kuririn. Kuririn flies through the side of the plane, which again surprises the two girls inside. Kuririn bounches to a stop in the plane, his head flying through the other wall. He simply sits there for a moment. Child, "Hey, mister!" Kuririn looks up to see Cell jump across the plane and land on the other wing, right in front of him. Cell, "Looks like it's over..." Kuririn stares up at him. Cell suddenly turns and looks over toward something in front of the plane.

Tenshinhan, "Kuririn!" Cell, "Damn, it's them!" Cell grabs Kuririn's head for a moment, then suddenly lets go, which surprises Kuririn. Cell wags a finger at him, then runs and jumps off the wing, flying back toward the town. Piccolo and Tenshinhan land on the wing of the plane a few feet from Kuririn. Piccolo, "Damn, his ki has disappeared again." Tenshinhan turns around. "Are you okay, Kuririn?" Kuririn, "I... I'm saved."

Trunks speeds through the sky, replaying things in his head. Cell, "Oh, Son Goku is alive." Kuririn, "Of course!" Cell, "I guess history has changed a bit from the one I knew." Trunks, "Different history? Things were changed a bit after I arrived here using the time machine." Freezer dodges a blast and Trunks descends upon him with sword drawn. "At that time, if Goku-san was still alive instead of having died..." The sword slices cleanly through the Cyborg Freezer. "...we would have saved the future that was destroyed by the Artificial Humans." The halves slide apart, then completely separate. Trunks blasts King Cold through the chest. He slides down the rocky ledge, leaving a blood trail down the wall behind him. "But when I came back three years later..." Trunks hands Son Goku a vial of medicine. "...Goku-san was fighting different Artificial Humans." Trunks stares down at the smoking head of Juukyugou. Nijuugou stares up at the new arrival, Mirai Trunks, and he stares back. Number 18 releases Juukyugou from his tank. His eyes open, glowing red. "Number 16, whom I'd never seen before appeared..." Number 16 climbs up and steps out of his tank. "...And then Cell appeared as well." Trunks stares up at the old, run-down time machine, standing next to his new and shiny, not to mention functional, time machine. "And that time machine he was on was definitely mine." Trunks walks over to the older machine and brushes away some moss to review the word "Hope!!" He returns to the present. "That means Cell was here four years ago in this time period. Is this my fault? Because I came from the future and put this period, this dimension, in danger?" Against a black background, Trunks sees images of Juukyugou, Nijuugou, Number 17, Number 18, Number 16 passing on the right and left of the screen, and then finally, Cell in the middle. Vegeta, "I will take care of this in my own way! I will surpass Super Saiya-jin! Definitely!" Trunks, "Father, Mother, I will train with Father. If Father can surpass Super Saiya-jin, then so can I." Mirai Bulma smiles at him. "Mother..."

The plane containing the two sisters flies off as Kuririn watches. Piccolo, "Damn, we lost him again." Ten, "We can't do anything if he senses our ki and runs away each time." Kuririn looks around at the empty clothing, blowing around in the light breeze. From the control tower, Cell watches the Z Senshi. "Even if I keep taking energy from humans, it still won't give me enough power as if I were to combine with Number 17 and Number 18."

The Artificial Humans and their pink van ride through a forest, weaving between trees and boulders. The car bounces around in the middle of the forest, not even riding on a road any longer. Number 18, "Isn't there a smoother road we could take?" Number 17, "This is the fun part." Number 18, "Number 16, is Son Goku's house much further now?" Number 16, "Not far now." Number 18, "You guys are both so easy going. This will make things better." She climbs out the window and blasts away the forest, leaving a clear zone between fallen trees. "See, isn't this nice?" Number 17, "What are you doing? This isn't fun at all." Number 18, "You're so weird, still keeping a lot of those human qualities."

Two or three days pass. The capsule plane remains parked outside Kame House, where the Z Senshi (minus Trunks and Vegeta) have gathered. They continue to watch the news. "The monster seems to have appeared at South #48. It is reported that already, half the citizens are gone." Piccolo, "Damn it." Kuririn, "Now the South side." Gohan, "Also, the West cities were taken in." Yamucha is silent for a moment. "Oh, yeah!" The capsule plane lifts off. Chichi and Kamesennin watch it from the beach. Chichi, "Gohan-chan, be careful!"

Inside the capsule plane are Piccolo, Tenshinhan, Yamucha, Son Gohan, and Kuririn. Yamucha, "If we get close with this, Cell will never notice." Kuririn, "Lets destroy him before he combines with Number 17." Ten, "Yeah, we can." Gohan, "Yeah! We've got the new Piccolo with all the new powers that he gained from fusing with Kamisama!" Piccolo, "Cell is smart." Everyone turns to him. "Even if we get close, he'll just hide and we won't be able to find him."

Chichi fills a bowl with warm water. She walks off to take it up to Son Goku, but a loud crash shakes the ground and she falls, dropping the bowl. "What is it? Have the Artificial Humans come?" Muten Roshi jumps up in front of her with the bowl on his head. She screams, which startles him. He falls back to the ground. "What's all the screaming about? Pouring water on me..." Another crash throws Chichi right into his arms. He giggles gleefully. "I haven't felt such sensations from a girl in a long time! Oops, can't really call you a girl now, huh?" He laughs and she smacks him into a wall. "Wow! An ex-figher's strength..." He slides down the wall, landing on the floor with a thud. Chichi dusts her hands off, then suddenly stops. "Goku-san!"

The door to Son Goku's room flies open. "Goku-san! What?" Son Goku's bed is empty. Chichi walks around, calling Goku's name, eventually reaching the window. Kamesennin comes in behind her. "What? What's going on?" He joins her at the window and they look out at the water show going on, and then down to the beach and the source of the show. Son Goku stands on the beach, his back to them. "Goku-san!" Roshi, "Goku!" Chichi climbs out the window. She jumps off the roof and runs to Goku. Roshi raises his foot to the roof. "And me, too." Goku throws a ki blast across the water. Kamesennin loses his balance and falls off the roof, his head getting caught in the ground. Chichi, "Goku-san!" Goku turns around, "Chichi!" and Chichi runs up to hug him. "Goku-san!" Goku, "Sorry to trouble you for everything. It looks like my sickness is entirely gone." Chichi looks up at him. "Are you really okay?" Goku, "Yeah, look at this." He picks her up and starts spinning her around. "Goku-san!" A few revolutions later, she says, "Okay, you can stop now." Goku stops, but he loses his grip and Chichi flies into the air. "Oops, too much power." Shortly later, she falls back to the ground, screaming. Goku catches her in his arms. "Goku-san!" Goku, "Sorry, sorry." Roshi walks over to them. "Goku!" Goku, "Gramps!" Muten Roshi, "You're okay?" Goku, "Yeah, no problem." He suddenly becomes very serious. "I heard everyone talking in my dreams. I know most of the stuff. Another big problem..." Roshi, "Goku, are you..." Chichi, "No way! If you fight now, you'll die!" Goku, "Don't worry, I'm not going to fight yet. If Vegeta can't beat them, then I won't be able to, either. I'm going to aim higher." Chichi, "Huh?" Roshi, "Higher?" Son Goku walks out to the edge of the water and stares out across the ocean. "Beyond Super Saiya-jin." Roshi gasps and Chichi stares at him, amazed, mouth agape. Son Goku just continues to look out over the water.
