Artificial Human Saga
Episodes 122-160

I don't guarantee any of the episode titles after 152 are accurate. Based on the partial translation of the titles on my fansubs, plus a few other episode lists and my own feeble knowledge of Japanese, I tried to come up with the most accurate translation I could. I'll be replacing them with the official title translations as they come out. Also haven't gotten around to romanizing the Japanese titles past episode 150, but I'll add them at some point.

122. My Father Was Vegeta... Admissions of the Mysterious Youth
The mysterious boy, Trunks, tells Son Goku of his future, a hell on Earth that has been created by Dr. Gero's Artificial Humans. He reveals a few things about himself, then they finish up and Trunks climbs back into his time machine. The future now rests in the hands of Son Goku and the Z Senshi.

123. Goku's New Special Attack?! Watch My Instantaneous Movement
Trunks has left, Son Goku and Piccolo (who overheard the conversation with his superior auditory system) explain what Trunks said, and the Z Senshi decide to train, although they were reluctant until they saw the time machine vanish. Goku also explains where he's been, and shows off a new technique - Shunkan Idou, instantaneous movement. After the little reunion, everyone disperses and begins training.

124. I'll Surpass You, Goku!! The Warrior Race Saiya-jin King
Vegeta trains under 400x Earth's normal gravity with the single goal of surpassing Son Goku. Despite injury and his own physical limitations, Vegeta pushes on inside his gravity capsule, paying no attention to those around him whenever possible, and refusing their help when they come to his aid.

125. A Normal License? Goku's New Ordeal
Goku and Piccolo take a break from training to go earn their driver's licenses...and fail miserably.

126. Murderers Who Leave no Trace - Which Ones Are the Artificial Humans?
The Z Senshi meet on the day that the Artificial Humans are to arrive. The Artificial Humans come, destroy Yajirobe's aircar, wreak havoc in the city, and almost kill Yamucha...

127. The Cold-Blooded Number 20's Hideous Atrocities!! Goku's Super Transformation of Anger
After sending Kuririn back to the mountain with the near-dead Yamucha, Son Goku, Piccolo, Tenshinhan, and the two Artificial Humans depart to find a less populated area in which to fight. The Artificial Humans eventually choose a location when they tire of waiting, and upon landing, explain how they know everyone. Finally, the fight begins when Son Goku turns Super Saiya-jin.

128. Goku's Double Shock!! Caught Between Illness and Adversary
Son Goku fights Number 19 (Artificial Human #19) with little trouble for a while. Soon, though, he becomes more and more tired, he loses strength much faster than he should. Number 19 begins to gain the upperhand.

129. The Might of Vegeta!! The Blood of a Super Saiya-jin Awakens
Finally, Son Goku is completely unable to fight back, and Number 19 begins to absorb his ki. Suddenly, help arrives in an unexpected form as Vegeta throws Number 19 away. Yamucha, after being healed with a senzu, takes Goku back to his home and Vegeta displays a nice trick he picked up over the past three years.

130. Number 20's Defiant Smile... The Secret of Dr. Gero
After turning Super Saiya-jin, Vegeta quickly disposes of Number 19 with a new technique, "Super Vegeta's Big Bang Attack." Realizing his calculations were wrong, Number 20 attempts to escape into the rocky hills nearby. The Z Senshi search for him in the hills while he contemplates which one to pick off and take energy from.

131. A Reality More Terrifying Than the Future?! Trunks' Suspicions
Artificial Human 20 goes after Piccolo, but Piccolo telepathically contacts Son Gohan, who comes to his aid. The other Z Senshi all sense Gohan's ki when he attacks Number 20, and everyone surrounds the Artificial Human. Meanwhile, Trunks has returned to the future and gone to the original island. He finds it in ruins, but senses fighting ki nearby. Upon arrival at the fight, he finds the smoking head of Number 19. He's completely shocked, and when he gets to the rest of the fighters, he finds another Artificial Human that he doesn't recognize.

132. Give Chase!! The Search for Dr. Gero's Mysterious Laboratory
Bulma arrives in her aircar and reveals that the Artificial Human everyone had been fighting is, in fact, Dr. Gero himself. Meanwhile, Number 20 has escaped into the mountains, and a three way race is on to find the lab. Piccolo, Kuririn, Tenshinhan, and Trunks wish to destroy the Artificial Humans before they're revived, Vegeta wants to fight them, and Dr. Gero wants to activate them.

133. And the Terror Becomes Reality... Number 17 and Number 18 Awaken
Dr. Gero reaches the lab first and activates Number 17 and Number 18. Kuririn arrives in time to see him go into the lab, and signals the rest of the Z Senshi by suddenly raising his ki, but they arrive too late to make a difference. Right outside the door, the group debates about what to do. Finally, Vegeta blasts the door down.

134. Too Late to Do Anything?! The Ultimate Weapon to Kill Son Goku
Just as Trunks foretold, the Number 17 kills Dr. Gero right in front of the Z Senshi. Trunks suddenly turns Super Saiya-jin and destroys the lab to stop the Artificial Humans from activating a third Jinzouningen that even Trunks didn't know about, but his blast doesn't stop them from awakening Number 16. The Artificial Humans leave, and Vegeta pursues them. Upon catching up, he turns Super Saiya-jin and challenges them.

135. Good Looks and Super Power?! Number 18 has no Blind Spot
Vegeta takes on Number 18 and well, to put it bluntly, he receives quite the ass whomping while the other Z Senshi watch from nearby. Upon seeing his father's painful defeat, Trunks turns Super Saiya-jin, draws his sword, and leaps into battle.

136. No One Can Stop Them... Is This the End of the Z Senshi?
When Trunks joins in, Number 17 joins in. When Number 17 joins in, the rest of the Z Senshi (except for Kuririn) also rush into battle. Kuririn watches in fear from the cliff, occasionally looking down the street to Number 16, who remains out of the fight. Number 17 and Number 18 easily deal with each of the Z Senshi, but strangely, don't kill any of them. As the Artificial Humans get up to leave, Kuririn asks what they're goals are, but doesn't receive any favorable answer.

137. Piccolo's Resolution!! The Final Measure He Had Held in Reserve
After seeing how badly they were all beaten, Piccolo goes for his trump card. Meanwhile, the other Z Senshi split up into a few different groups. Tenshinhan goes to retrieve Chaouzu, Vegeta leaves on his own, and Trunks and Kuririn go to Goku's house.

138. Walking Weapons of Mass Destruction!! The Artificial Humans Close In on Goku
Piccolo attempts to convince Kami that fusion is the answer. Kami decides he needs to observe more before he makes his final decision, and Piccolo waits with him at God's Shrine. Down on the Earth, the Artificial Humans steal a car and enjoy a nice ride. Meanwhile, the Son family packs up and everyone goes to Kame House.

139. Premonition of Doom! Bulma Relates a Mystery
Vegeta contemplates his loss while the rest of the group flies to Kame House. En route, they decide to fill Bulma in on all the details, and so Kuririn calls her up. It just so happens that she has something to say to them, too, and faxes them a photo she recently received of a supposed Capsule Corporation product that was found out in the woods. It is none other than Trunks' time machine, but it's terribly run down and overgrown.

140. Discovery of an Evil Egg! Trunks' Terror
Trunks and Son Gohan meet Bulma in the forest to investigate the time machine. They confirm that it is indeed Trunks' machine. In the bubble dome on top, they note that there's a giant hole that appears to have been created from the inside, and in the machine itself, they find a strange egg that's been broken in half. Nearby, Gohan discovers a strange shell that's been cracked across the top. Trunks finds that the stuff inside is still moist, and therefore, whatever lived in it has only recently come out. Meanwhile, Kami has a terrible premonition of destruction and agrees to refusion.

141. In the Face of an Enemy Unlike Any Before... Birth of a Super Namekseijin!!
People begin to disappear without explanation in cities near the place where the time machine was discovered. Clothing and any items a person was carrying are littered throughout the streets, but the people are gone. Piccolo and Kami fuse back together, and Piccolo visits the city where this is currently taking place. There, he meets a new foe.

142. Kamehameha?! The Monster Who Possesses Goku's Ki
The Gingertown monster starts off by showcasing his wide array of ki's, including Son Goku's ki and Piccolo's. Kamiccolo (Kami/Piccolo) and the monster fight, and Piccolo is caught off guard when the monster moves into an all-too-familiar stance and begins to call, "KA!... ME!... HA!... ME!..."

143. A Life Form of Evil and Destruction!! His Name Is Artificial Human, Cell
The monster captures Piccolo and begins to absorb him, beginning with his left arm. However, Piccolo manages to escape after losing only his arm. Conceding defeat even so, Piccolo requests to know about his enemy before he dies. The monster introduces himself as the Artificial Human, Cell. He tells of his creation by Dr. Gero's computer and pretty much explains everything to Piccolo (including his reason for having everyone's ki: he's made from their cells). After hearing everything, Piccolo tears off the dead arm and regenerates a new one, shocking Cell.

144. Piccolo's Regrettable Mistake! Cell Escapes Into the City!
Trunks and Kuririn arrive to aid Piccolo. Trunks' arrival surprises Cell, since in Cell's time, he killed Trunks. Cell explains that the only one who has any chance of victory against him is Piccolo, and then uses the Taiyo-ken to escape. Nearby, he begins his slow power up by absorbing a sports team. Meanwhile, Vegeta is none too happy to find that the huge ki he sensed belongs to Piccolo.

145. The Secret of Cell's Birth! What Lies Below the Laboratory?
Once again, the Z Senshi split up. Kuririn and Trunks go back to Dr. Gero's lab to kill the Cell in their time period so that at least one future will not have to deal with him. While in the lab, they stumble upon Number 17's blueprints. After destroying the lab, they take the blueprints to Bulma in hopes that she can find a weakness. Bulma and Dr. Briefs begin work on an emergency stop controller with which to deactivate the Artificial Humans.

146. Goku Awakes to Battle!! Transcend the Super Saiya-jin!!
Piccolo, Tenshinhan, and Kuririn search for Cell. Kuririn finally finds him at an airport, and actually fights a bit with him in an effort to buy time for a woman and her young sister to escape. The woman gets into an airplane while Kuririn distracts Cell. As the plane takes off, Kuririn blinds Cell with the Taiyo-ken, then grabs the bottom of the plane for a quick escape without raising his ki to a level Cell can sense. Cell skips Kuririn and attacks the girls directly, though, and Kuririn is forced to fight him. Their fight is enough ki for Piccolo and Ten to sense, and Cell runs away before killing the girls or Kuririn. Meanwhile, at Kame House, Son Goku has awakened with a goal in mind. He must surpass the levels of Super Saiya-jin.

147. Hurry Your Training, Saiya-jin!! Inside the Room of Spirit and Time...
Goku shows up to retrieve Gohan from the plane with the rest of the Z Senshi. After saying hello to everyone, he and Gohan teleport to Vegeta and Trunks. Goku tells Vegeta that he knows of a good place to train, and they all go to God's Shrine to make use of the Room of Spirit and Time, where one day outside equals one year in the room.

148. The Gekiretsukodan That Split the Heavens!! Piccolo vs. Artificial Human 17
While the Saiya-jin stay at God's Shrine, the Artificial Humans show up at Kame House. Piccolo challenges them, and the four of them fly off to another island while the rest of the Z Senshi stay at Kame House. Piccolo powers up to fight Number 17 one on one while Number 16 and Number 18 watch with disinterest. To everyone's surprise, Piccolo is much stronger than he was just a few days prior when they last fought.

149. How I Have Waited for This Day!! Cell's Prologue to Perfection
Cell senses Piccolo's ki fighting with someone. Because he cannot sense a second ki, he deduces that Piccolo must be fighting the Artificial Humans. He spares his would-be victims and races to the battle to absorb the Jinzouningen. Meanwhile, Piccolo and Number 17 continue the battle, and they appear to be about equal in strength (though Number 17's infinite energy would eventually give him the upper hand when Piccolo became fatigued).

150. The Desperate Counterattack Proves Ineffective! Piccolo's Flame Burns out
Cell arrives, much to Piccolo's surprise. None of the Artificial Humans recognize Cell, which shocks Piccolo even more. He explains who Cell is, and Number 17 and Piccolo team up to fight Cell. Piccolo is no longer any match for Cell, though. Wiping out entire cities has proven very good for Cell, and Piccolo is left with no choice. He powers up an enormous ki attack that disintegrates most of the island and hits Cell dead on. Unfortunately, the attack had no effect. Cell breaks Piccolo's neck in one swift hit, then blows a hole in his side. He tosses Piccolo into the water, leaving him for dead, and the Namekseijin never resurfaces.

151. One Final Remaining Hope... Number 16, the Wordless Warrior, Takes Action!!
Number 17 is now forced to go one on one with Cell, and it very quickly becomes apparent that he's not going to make it. As Cell prepares to absorb Number 17, Number 16 realizes he has no other choice. "The time to fight has come before meeting with Son Goku." He walks up to Cell and punches him, and the fight begins.

152. Number 17 Is Swallowed... The Transforming Cell is a Super Gormet
Number 16 holds his own quite well, and at one point, Number 17 and Number 18 are convinced that he's won. However, Number 16 knows better. He announces that Cell has been injured, but is not dead. Number 17 feels that he has nothing to fear now, and begins to taunt Cell. He calls for Cell to come out, and Cell complies, jumping up right behind Number 17. Tenshinhan, watching the battle from a nearby cliff, shouts out a warning, but it's too late. Cell absorbs Number 17 and reaches his second stage. The transformed Cell proves far too strong for Number 16, so in order to keep Cell from attaining perfection, Tenshinhan steps up and blasts him with Shin Kikohou. While the attack doesn't actually injure Cell, it does a damn fine job of holding him captive.

153. I'll Beat You Tomorrow!! Goku's Letter of Challenge
Goku teleports to the battle to rescue Tenshinhan after he runs out of energy. While there, he senses a faint ki and realizes Piccolo is still alive. He gets Tenshinhan and Piccolo, then challenges Cell and vanishes once more. Ten and Piccolo are given senzu, and shortly thereafter, Vegeta and Trunks emerge from the Room of Spirit and Time.

154. I'll Settle Everything!! The Newborn Vegeta and Trunks Strike
After coming out of the room, Vegeta and Trunks are brought up to speed. Vegeta flies off to fight Cell, and Trunks follows him soon after. After having something to eat, Son Goku and Gohan go into the Room of Spirit and Time for their year of training.

155. Immediately Going All Out! Super Vegeta's Dazzling Power
Vegeta and Trunks reach the island that Cell has narrowed down Number 18's location to (by blowing up all the other islands in the area) and challenges him. Cell feels that Vegeta poses no threat, and so they land. Number 18 watches from nearby, wondering what Vegeta could be planning. Vegeta begins to power up, astonishing everyone but Trunks (and himself, of course). Finally, he finishes and leaps forward, punching Cell hard in the gut. Cell stands in shock; Vegeta smiles up at him without removing his fist.

156. Cell, Kneel! I Am Super Vegeta!!
Vegeta battles Cell after reaching Ultimate Super Saiya-jin Stage 2 and giving himself the name Super Vegeta. Cell is no match for the new Vegeta, and it very quickly becomes apparent.

157. Hazardous Pride!! The Challenge to Perfect Cell
The fight continues with Cell getting beaten up. Cell finally becomes very angry when Vegeta taunts him and begins to power up higher. That's actually pretty much it.

158. I Can't Make Up My Mind!! Kuririn Maneuvers to Destroy Number 18
Cell piques Vegeta's interest with talk of perfection. Meanwhile, Kuririn, who has been watching the battle for quite some time, begins looking for Number 18. He carries with him Bulma's emergency stop controller that was built from Number 17's blueprints. However, upon finding Number 18, Kuririn has second thoughts, and ultimately smashes the controller. Unfortunately, Cell finds her soon after, and Vegeta, wanting a stronger opponent, allows Cell a break in the action to achieve perfection.

159. The Universe Is Shocked!! Cell Evolves Into Perfection
Though Trunks, Kuririn, Number 18, and Number 16 put up quite a resistance, Cell finally manages to absorb Number 18 after temporarily stopping his opponents with a Taiyo-ken. The entire world trembles as Cell's Perfect body evolves. Even the people of New Namek feel the stream of evil ki coming from the Earth.

160. Infinite Attack Power!! The God of Destruction, Cell, Is Born
Cell's transformation wraps up and Kuririn and Trunks immediately attack him. Even Super Saiya-jin Trunks has absolutely no effect on Perfect Cell, and when Kuririn throws a kienzan, it simply breaks apart after hitting Cell. Meanwhile, in the Room of Spirit and Time, Son Gohan turns Super Saiya-jin for the first time.
